1/10/2026 - They open at 10am, I arrived at 10am. Since the Santee version closed and they were always consistent, I was craving their food. Went to El Cajon, no line, easy access thru the drive thru and when I exited. We ordered a regular classic cheese fry and the 5 for $8.95 chili dogs. When we arrived home, they were very skimpy with the chili on the chili cheese fries and light with the chili on the chili hot dogs. Will gave this place a total of 2 stars. I will try one more time in the future then go to another location. No reason to be skimpy on the chili. See photos and judge. read more

Wienerschnitzel advertises every week a Wednesday special at certain locations $4.00 for 4 chili dogs. The internet advertisement list the participating locations. This store is listed and still is as a participant. When I drove out there to it quit a ways and ordered that Wednesday special and more food, I was told that this location does not accept that offer??? I said it was listed as a location and he responded sorry! When I drove up to the pick up window I asked for the manager and an Asian man said he was and I explained the situation about it being listed and I drove a ways to get it along with my other items. He apologized and said he forgot to take the internet web offer down but wouldn't honer it! He knew I was upset and proced to fill the rest of my order and asked if I wanted any chili dogs and so upset but wanted some I said yes and ordered three at $2.99 a piece!!! When I got home it was clear he gave me three chili dogs completely uncooked or boiled or whatever they do and it was terrible! I know everyone is short handed but I'm not sure if this is the case here or the reason for the horrible service. Simple order, 6 corn dogs, a strawberry lemonade, a root beer and a large fries...which I had to repeat twice. The guy at the drive up window was taking forever. When I finally ordered he added an extra plain lemonade. I said we only wanted 2 drinks. Finally got to the window and he tried to hand me a Pepsi - which leaked all over me because the lid was not on right. I said I ordered a root beer. He handed me the root beer and the lemonade. Always have good service here and they keep the dining area clean. Staff is friendly + helpful. Didn't have to wait long for my food when I've been here aside from coming at times it's already crowded or busy, can't blame them for everyone else coming through at the same time, but they always do their best to get you out of there quick. Once got the wrong item but they replaced with correct food no problem. I usually don't eat many hot dogs in a given year, but I do like sausages on a bun with all the fixings more often than I should be eating them, which is the reason I found myself here: to try their Oktoberfest Italian sausage with grilled onions, peppers, and mustard on a French roll. I have to say, the Italian sausage on a bun was as good as any I have had at any Oktoberfest festival.The sausage was delicious and quite juicy. Both the onions and peppers were well cooked and tasted great, and they dressed the sausage with just the right amount of mustard. The bun was very good too. It arrived warm and toasty and had nice moist center and light crunch on the exterior. It was a great Italian sausage on a roll. Since they have a Tasty Freeze at the same location and it was Tuesday, I helped myself to a small vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate for $1.49. It was a tasty treat indeed. I'm not sure what's up with Yelp. I see there are a bunch of reviews I thought I already posted that are in my draft folder. I stopped in Weinersnitzle on Veterans day . They gave me a chili dog fries and a drink for proving my veteran Status. I bought some jalepeno poppers to round out the meal. The chili dog was nothing spectacular. Slopilly thrown together with more chili on the wrapper than I felt was acceptable. It tasted fine so no problem. I should have ordered extra onions but the dog was free so I didn't want to push it. Same with the fries they were ok but I prefer well done but since they were free I didn't ask for well done. My poppers were a surprise in that They we're filled with cheddar and my personal preference was cream cheese. They came with ranch but my personal preference is the rasberry sauce. Again the poppers were fine just not my preference .No problem here, note to self: go to Arby's when craving jalepeno poppers. My server was friendly and courteous. Took my order hcorrectly and even brought it to my table. I appreciated the free Veterans day lunch. read more

The one star is for the good food. THIS location could possibly be not only the SLOWEST Wienerschnitzel in the chain but maybe the slowest fast food spots in ALL of San Diego. Stopped here to get food for my wife who loves corn dogs. Ordered 2 and fries and when I got home there was only one dog and the fries. I ordered a meal and got a drink I didn't even want because of the 2 dogs and fries deal. She was very disappointed and I felt badly as she hadn't eaten all day anticipating having this indulgence. Every now and then you crave a chili dog. Its a weird craving but I actually had one the other day so I decided to drive down here to get some grub. They had a deal going called the $3 deal. You get 2 chili dogs and a chili cheese fries. Pretty good deal so I ordered that. As I was sitting in the drive through and pulled up to the window, the lady asked me what I had ordered. She got confused by something...I think maybe their computer system was down or something but anyways...after about 3 minutes she apologizes and hands me a bag of food. Good thing I checked because it was the wrong stuff. It was a hamburger and some chili fries. I pull over and go inside and explain the dilemma. I hand them the bag of food and they ask me what I had originally ordered. I told them and they got me my food asap. They then tell me I can take the other bag home too since they cant resell it. The one word that describes this Wienerschniztel is: NASTY! I have been here numerous times and the last time I went here my visit went from bad to worse. As I was waiting in line (mind you I was the only customer in line) I had to wait 5 minutes just to get acknowledged due to the fact management was trying to fix another customers order they had done wrong. Finally after I said something they helped me out. I ordered my food and the wait was an additional 20 minutes due to the fact that they were STILL trying to fix the same customers order. By this time, 3-4 patrons ordered after me and we were all getting inpatient. Finally the manager gave us some nasty deserts for making us wait so long. When I got back to work and tried the food, it was all burnt and old. It was my coworkers first time having Wienerschnitzel after 8 years, and will probably be his last time ever having it again. The staff and management team here are a bunch of "n00bs" that don't know how to run a business. We waited over half an hour for two hot dogs and a corn dog. Why? Because the customer in the drive thru ahead of us ordered over 45 hot dogs all under the "Five for 5.95" special. Everyone is entitled to order whatever they please, but they ordered each set of five as a different order with different requests for each hot dog. Not counting the two orders of corn dogs he purchased (again under two different orders) that makes 9 different orders. Each always with five different requests for each dog. What made it worse that instead of collecting the customers money and politely requesting they park out front and wait for their 11 different orders, they left them in line keeping the five cars behind us, as well as us, trapped with no way out. When we finally got our order, there were no apologies and our food was ice cold. No way will I ever return to this establishment again. read more
