Wow Sonic Provo bravo this #1 combo is the cleanest I've seen in years from any Sonic location

I went in at 1:10pm, in the drive in and order 2 drinks. One lemonade and one slushy. I paid for my order using a credit card so I wouldn't have to wait for cash. All of the drive in parking spots are full. Drive though backed up. I get it, they're busy. 10-12 minutes go by and 1 car in the spot next to me, that arrived and ordered after has come and gone. Only ordering a drink. I call on the speaking asking if my order was maybe missed. I was very polite and was given the answer that the kitchen was backed up, and it would be out in 2-3 minutes. Okay cool. 10 more minutes pass, and another car next to me has come and gone with only ordering drinks. I call again and say I didn't order any food, just drinks. I get the same answer that the kitchen is backed up, and it will be out in 2-3 minutes. I respond, that's what you said 10 minutes ago. I only ordered 2 drinks. Another 10 minutes pass and still nothing has come out for me. It's a 90 degree day, I have a exhausted toddler that just wants a lemonade. There are only 2 kids running orders out. The occasional 3rd girl. There are a bunch or employees in the kitchen and also sit down area. I can see employees from my car, and filming themselves making Tik Tok dances. I get out of my car and show an employee my bank statement proving that I've ordered and paid for 2 drinks. I just want to leave at this point and ask if I can just get a refund. She says that the kitchen is really backed up and I say I understand, you guys are busy. I just want a refund. She goes inside to see what's going on. She comes back asking what drinks I ordered, I tell her and she goes back inside. A few more minutes later she comes back with my drinks saying that they threw the receipt away, but the drinks were sitting there. No sorry about the long wait, hardly an apology or an offer to still refund my money. Both drinks were melted when I got in the car, but I wasn't about to wait 30 more minutes for new drinks. read more

It's a fast food restaurant so I shouldn't expect much, but I literally waited for my food for 20 mins only for them to come and tell me they accidentally canceled it and I would need to order it again. I was on my lunch break, so I didn't have time to order and sit and wait for it. Really frustrating. I know accidents and mistakes happen, but I feel like they should have just given me the meal since I was already charged for it. read more

Horrendous service. Myself and four other cars waited over 30 minutes for someone to take our order through the drive thru and after no one even telling me hello we all decided to leave. They took orders of two cars before me and then I guess just decided they were done for the day. Proceeded over to the parking spots to try and order where everyone else looked just as mad. Had to press the button twice to get them to take my order. I left an hour before I had work in order to give myself time in case they were busy. They weren't even busy and i probably should've left 2 hours before work if i wanted to eat here. Don't come here if you're looking for something quick. read more

Horrible service. My friends and I wanted to exchange the slushees we bought, we wanted the cream slushees and didn't specify that so we got back in line only to be ignored after saying that we would have to pay a little extra, which we were okay with. We sat at the drive thru order mic for like 5 minutes, and we weren't even mad we just wanted to exchange the slushees and then when we got out of the line because we were being ignored we called the store and got hung up on, called two more times and got hung up on as well. My wife wanted sonic really bad tonight so we went to the drive in. After getting home with our bag of food in hand and drinks we open it up to realize the only thing my wife ordered wasn't in the bag... really bummed to have to drive back to sonic and show them the receipt and get the sandwich she wanted. However Cameron was super awesome and made it right by offering to make a free blast of choice. Thank you Cameron for stepping in and being great! read more

Waited in the parking ordering stall for 45min before they even acknowledged us. They were just giving drinks to all their high school friends instead. Ordered 3 different slushes and instead was given 3 weird drinks that were all something like sprite and a hint of cherry with some ice. Not what we had ordered at all. Really terrible service to go through waiting an hour for incorrect drinks. Didn't realize until we were driving home and tasted them (because we just wanted to get out of there at that point). I just want a refund or decent drinks to be made. Such a waste. Definitely wouldn't return. read more

I don't always write a review. I'm not from Utah. But I come to Provo often. I don't think there is one time I've gone to this Sonic and it's been good service. I just ordered 1 plain hotdog with ketchup on the side, 12 in and a large Coke. (Not the route 44) the total was $6.44. Wow. I asked what was the cost of the hot dog. $3.99. For 1 hot dog!!! Sheeze that better be one great hot dog!! Not only was the girl snotty with me, when asking me for clarification of what was 'ketchup on the side meant?' (Packets- don't like it soggy) but I didn't get the packets and the dog was cold. Bummer. What a rip off!! The last time I went through I accidentally ordered a "blizzard" and the guy corrected me rudely that it was a blast I was ordering. So for having to word things correctly and paying for an expensive meal- I should get good service! read more

This Sonic is the worst Sonic I have ever been to. Their quality of service has gone downhill significantly over the past two years. Every time I have come here over that time period, I have experienced serious problems and it hasn't gotten better. Wish I could give zero stars. If you order from their patio kiosk, they just never answer. I waited for over half an hour for someone to take my order, and after flagging down their carhop multiple times and still having nobody come on to take my order, I ended up going inside to order from their indoor kiosk. When I pull up to a parking stall, I usually have to wait more than five minutes, sometimes more than ten, after pushing the order button for someone to start taking my order. If I order from the app (which is a terrible user experience on its own, but unrelated to this review), it's going to be a wait of at least twenty minutes for a carhop to run my order out. Several times, I've had to wait over half an hour. Usually there's only one carhop working at any time. Over the past two years, every time I've ordered from their patio or from a parking stall, I've been missing something from my order and the carhop ran off before I could stop him. Because they never answer when you push the order button, there's no way to talk to them except by flagging down the carhop, which can be near impossible because they're almost always inside. Otherwise, you have to step out of your car, go up to the window and knock, and hope somebody hears you. The only reliable way to buy food from this location is through their drive thru. I've never had any issues like the ones I describe above, but it's nothing extraordinary and is also fairly slow. TL;DR: Horrible service, understaffed, no indication of wanting to improve. If you're going through the drive-through, you might have a passable experience. Otherwise, skip this one. read more

My first experience with Sonic. Everything I had heard about Sonic had been positive. People were always raving about how great the burgers are there. I was fairly excited to see if it lived up to all the hype. The emperors new clothes again. Forgive me for being the child pointing out the obvious, but there is absolutely nothing special about Sonic burgers. They are good, but come on! They aren't *that* good. The restaurant itself was crummy. I guess that since it's a drive-in they felt they didn't need to clean the sit down restaurant area. The floors were concrete - not linoleum on concrete - a concrete slab. Just like eating in a driveway. There were no tables that were clean. There was garbage and half eaten food strewn around. And as I have pointed out before: if you want to ruin an eating experience quicker than anything, simply take a trip to the restrooms. As for the food: there weren't very many fries, and they were cold. The burger was actually ok, but only ok. The coney style dog was pretty good, in fact if - *if* - I ever find myself in a group of people who insist on going to a Sonic, I will opt for the dog. The amount of money I spent for this meal was way out of hand. The bang for my buck here is only worth one star. read more

I love sonic and go almost daily. Visiting in town and stopped at this one for my morning drink at 8 a.m. Waited over 8 minutes at drive thru with no greeting whatsoever. Assumed it wasn't working. I always love coming to sonic and usually i have a great experience. Tonight, however, i parked in a stall and ordered some drinks. I asked for a water and the employee yells back at me "WHAT!?" in a very rude tone. When i repeated myself i said "can i get like a water?" and he responded "do u want 'like a water' or a water?" I work in fast food as well so i know it can be difficult when it is busy however it is never an excuse to talk to a customer like that. read more

As someone who grew up with Sonic shakes, malts, limeades, and burgers, I know what to expect when it comes to Sonic, but when you show up at 2pm and you're the 4th car there, you'd expect things to be a little quicker than they were for us yesterday. My daughter and I waited 15 minutes for 2 sodas and 1 malt. We saw 5 or 6 cars come and go from the drive thru while we waited, too. When we got our sodas, they were watered down, and my malt was already melting, meaning they had been sitting there at least 5 minutes before anyone bothered to go "CRAP, WE SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO THE OTHER CARS THAT ARE HERE!" and brought them out. Then their "awesome new" digital machine said that it processed my card, but it didn't so when the carhop FINALLY brought us our drinks (have I mentioned that we waited 15 minutes for them??), they sprung it on us that we owed them. Uh, I thought that when their fancy new machine says "approved!", you've paid. She held my drinks hostage until I coughed up payment, so after swearing a blue streak because the experience took 10 minutes longer than I expect a Sonic experience to have taken, I doled out the cash. Ugh. I am a loyal Sonic patron, and this was my FIRST TIME at THIS particular Sonic... and it will be my LAST. I'll stick to ones in American Fork, Orem, and Spanish Fork - at least they're quicker and don't screw up a chocolate malt (seriously, HTH do you screw up a chocolate malt?? there was so much malt powder, it was like sludge, I am one sad panda), or let your drinks get watered down before they bring them out! And I hate to sound extremely callous, but it's a good thing this place is across the street from UVRMC because you might die in your car before you get your order if you actually order food from here. read more

Sonic's quality is going down the drain. Using cheap syrups for their shakes. That's blasphemy. ordered a peanut butter fudge shake. tasted very bitter. Didn't seem like there was any fudge or peanut butter in it. Just some disgusting flavor squirts, which were not mixed in very well. Sticking my straw on the bottom was a bad decision. So bitter! Like seriously, what is sonic using. I paid $4.39 for a shake that did not even have real fudge or peanut butter in it. That's ridiculous. My buddy ordered a snickers blast and we received a butterfinger blast at the window. We sent it back but the cashier confirmed it was snickers. It turned out to be butterfinger. Do y'all hire straight from the Utah State School? I swear! I have never seen more incompetence at one fast food restaurant! I placed an order and told the girl I needed to pay on the app. She said, "OK..." and then I went through my entire order, and she got ONE thing right and then turned off the order system. The "Pay with the app" button was still on screen when I placed my order with her, but I had to push the button and wait another 15 minutes for some other Utah State School resident to come on the speaker and took the rest of my order. Then the screen didn't offer any payment options. He came out with my stuff, and I told him I tried to pay on the app, and he said, "It's OK; I can go inside and finish your payment." I said, "Bro, I just explained to the girl before you and then you that I didn't bring my wallet because I was going to pay on the app." He stared at me all confused, like I was speaking another language. I said, "Ya know what...forget it. What I'm saying is clearly above your head. He said, "I'm sorry, sir," while he stood there with my stuff that he would have to throw in the trash instead of finding a way to take my payment. I used to like Sonic. Grabbing some mozzarella sticks on the day they were half off used to be such a highlight. I don't know if they changed management or something but it's such a poor experience now. Got some terrible service the other night. It was busy, admittedly, but I did wait over 30 minutes in the drive through for a few drinks (listened to the jazz game so I didn't mind necessarily). I really like sonic and happy hour. But the last few times I have gone to this one I felt like a burden going and getting lunch. But they were not being friendly. They also messed but my order by adding no coconut and way to many limes. The fires were all mushy, burnt looking and felt like scrapes that where at the bottom of the pile only a few good one where in the medium. I'm definitely going to try and avoid this one, trying to hopefully get some better service at a different one. read more

These people are assholes. Rude as hell. On a cross country drive in a huge uhaul and couldn't pull in to drive through. So we went inside. Filthy dirty and gross for one thing but I asked where to order because I didn't have a clue because I've never had Sonic they aren't around In la. Asked an employee and he was a dickhead and moved far away from us like we had the plague, I could have slapped him in the face. Luckily I'm from LA and don't live in Provo, UT. Absolutely Terrible! 35 minutes to get through the drive-thru. Waited 10 minutes at the speaker and had to say "Hello, Hello" into the speaker to get anyone to help. The cashier than was rude and said the system was down and they were only accepting cash. It then took 20 minutes to go from the speaker to the pickup window. Our shakes were melted. The staff has no idea what they are doing. The manager has no idea how to run the store. Terrible experience. I then called customer service and the area Manager, Skyler Stephens, emails and doesn't even care about my experience or do anything to make me return. I wont be back. read more

This is my favorite restraint but honest the worst location and the service is the worst I have ever seen. Aftee waiting for over 20 minutes and not having my order taken. I walked to the window and asked for help. They took my order for 3 drinks and I waited again for over fifteen minutes and then they returned to me with a single cup of ice.
