I had a very bad experience at this location. I was parked at a stall and placed my order, but the employee forgot one of the milkshakes. When I gave my debit card, she said it would take a while to process. She later came back and said their system was down. Then the manager came out and asked for the food back, claiming my card was declined. I explained that the employee had already told me their system was down, so that didn't make sense. The situation escalated and the manager even threatened to call the police. At that point, I returned the food and left. I later contacted customer service and filed a complaint. This was very poor customer service and extremely unprofessional. I hope this location improves how they treat customers. read more

Went through drive thru on the way to Vegas . Just for a drink and a snack .young man that took our order was very courteous and spoke so clear over the speaker so no issues . Green chile hatch burger was good and of course the onion rings , the ice tea was freshly brewed so all was good .This was Saturday September 7 ,24 Food was hot and service was good didn't have a long wait . Ordered an ocean water with blue raspberry, vanilla and sweet cream but realized we just got water with the additional flavors. Sonic just lost our business! We frequent this sonic for our drinks especially during happy hour and the discount on drinks through the sonic app. My friend had placed an order through the app and went to pick up his drinks like many times. Today he was given the wrong order and they did it twice. Asked him what his order was and asked his name. My friend said he got upset and asked for a refund. Don't know why today was so different from all the other times we've gone to pick up our orders. I wasn't there to witness the confusion but he came home with no drinks. Manager told him that he needed to call corporate to get his refund back? To me, paying for something and not receiving what you paid for is considered stealing. Now, we will not bother calling corporate but let this particular sonic have that $4.00 and some change, tip included and bad customer service for loosing frequent customers. The Area Manager offered to let my 2 young kids use the restrooms even though the sign said restrooms are closed to the public (dining room was closed due to covid lockdown). She was very polite and accommodating to my family. We had to order in the drive thru as there were not enough employees to man the drive up spots. We had a complicated order and figured chances were high they would get the order wrong. The employees in the drive thru were nice, patient, and got the order right. Everyone was happy, and all the food tasted good. Get the hatch chilies on whatever you order, you won't be disappointed. Covid has made it very hard for businesses to even stay open. I pulled up to one of the parking menus pushed the red button, waited five minutes, nothing, they only had two other cars parked and one in drive thru, so I pulled out of the stall and went in the drive thru, there was a lady in front of me and she ordered two drinks and a large onion ring, that took them seven minutes, when I pulled up to pay the young man was very rude and was rushing me....I drove home about four minutes away, was hungry so I decided that I would eat my large chilli cheese tots in my car, pulled them out to eat and the entire bottom fell out onto my pants, if that wasn't bad enough there was not even a napkin in my bag, oh and no fork, was so upset I just threw the burger and drink in the trash.... I have been to many Sonic restaurants & the Grants, NM location is at the bottom of the scale. Placing an order via the Sonic app is pointless because you have to wait in the long drive-thru line as their order stalls are closed & they have no online order pick up area. Also, don't bother ordering ice cream because their machine is always broken. I think Sonic Corporation should evaluate this location. read more

Was very excited to go to Sonic as we do not have one where I live. Not feeling inclined to at least try this one never again. The little person that took my order inside didn't really have a good grasp of the menu and needed help tracking down a specific shake that was listed up on there menu board. She had to go get assistance from someone else, which is fine, but then the person that came out basically just said we don't have that. No explanation, no apology just a flat loud' we don't have that' I guess that explains why the first person couldn't find it in the cash register. So I had two people helping me and then a gentleman that I can only believe to be the manager came out and told them that he needed one back there and one up front. It's not exactly like they were screwing up or messing around, they're actually with a customer. Another downside was that the second girl to come out then, in front of me, said oh you should have done it this way. Clearly they are not receiving much training from their manager that correcting one another or be writing one another in front of a customer is for form. Can't really blame the little people much Since the manager is a fairly poor excuse if he can't see that both of these folks were helping me, and instead decides to bark out orders of where they should each be. My family stopped in at Sonic over the weekend, and for 5 people to eat was gonna be $56 bucks! We said nope and went to Taco Bell instead. For some burgers and fries that we'd have to eat in our car, $56 bucks people! Those chicken sandwiches are $6 bucks, and guess what, you don't get a drink or fries with it, oh no, of course not, that's extra. At Taco Bell, $7 bucks gets you a box with a Taco, Chalupa a HUGE Burrito and a drink! And you can eat inside. For $56 bucks you can eat at a real restaurant and not in your car.
