The worst place I've ever seen. First, no one cares about you, the staff will go around smiling at each other and talking, while you wait like a dog for 30 minutes for someone to approach you. Second, my order wasn't ready after 25 minutes, and they told me we only have one person in the kitchen. Are you crazy? It was all good though I had time to kill, I was not in a big hurry, and it was nice seeing families come together celebrating the mommy's. I ordered the chicken tenders, fries and salad. My husband ordered chicken fried pork chops, loaded hash browns and mashed potatoes. They bring our food out, and not my fries. I mention that I ordered fries and the waitress said "no you didn't. But I can get you some" I told her no I ordered fries. My husband agreed with me. She again says no you didn't but I can get you some. She brings them out less than 2 minutes later. The fries were cold, and the chicken was dry. My husbands loaded hash browns were hash browns barely cooked laying on top of a pile of green peppers, onions and grease. The mashed potatoes were still partially flakes. And the pork chop was so covered in grease my husband is now nauseous. Mind you in all of this we expected some grease on the plate, a lot of his stuff was fried. However there should not be enough that it is able to pool on the side of the plate. Aside from all of this, the place was packed and they had a lot of tables that were closed for one reason or another. So yea just paid $35 for a meal neither of us could eat. By far the worst experience I've ever had at an iron skillet and my husband has been served a blue steak before. read more

Coffee was horrible. Regular coffee tasted like old instant decaf. The entire place filled with smoke because something was burning in the kitchen. Probably our breakfast. We couldn't breath and left. read more

We ordered one order of the grilled pork chops and one fried and they were both way too salty and tasted old like they had been in a freezer for some time. Not freezer burnt, but just not good. Will not be going back and I don't recommend it. read more

We're on a 3 wk road trip and try to stop at the small business, but that diner was closed. So we stopped at the Iron Skillet and had a surprisingly delicious meal. Since Covid, all the restaurants are struggling with staffing and food supply issues, but the servers at the Iron Skillet did a fantastic job of getting everyone served. I only went in here because WOW! Diner is closed on Mondays. I would have been better off eating a gas station hot dog, or staying hungry. They have an all-you-can-eat buffet, but after one look at it, there was no way i was eating from it. So, I ordered a burger and fries; a safe bet I assumed. The burger was obviously frozen and from a box. It had no flavor and wasn't even cooked properly. The moment it was placed in front of me I knew it was going to be bad, and it was. I took a few bites and discarded the rest. As bad as the burger was, it was leaps and bounds above the fries, which were soggy and unsalted. I ate one and that was it. We were quickly served by Delayna. She was kind and answered my questions with a great smile. Everything was cooked as per our requests. The meal included a trip to the soup and salad bar ( everything was fresh. Honestly the steaks and salmon tasted better than I have had at expensive steak houses. The price for everything we ordered was half of what we would have paid elsewhere. This is a truck stop in New Mexico and was decorated as you would expect. Great service great food. read more

Sat at this place waiting to be served along with two other tables while the help chatted. Food was not good when we finally got service and took forever. Had to walk out to get a bill. They had a really good looking breakfast buffet, but when we sat down, there was a dog sitting in a lady's lap at the table right next to ours. A dog in a buffet restaurant? We weren't willing to find out what other health code violations they might have been overlooking by actually eating there, so we left. Just stopped in for breakfast and I've got to say....everything was great!! These people know how to make eggs over medium too. Bacon was perfectly cooked. Service was great. Employees were friendly. Well i have different ways to look at this place. we have a tradition of stopping here every year we come down to this area honestly the food here is not great. last time we came up the hamburgers were really dry and disgusting. people were in there stealing silverware and other people in my party got food poisoning .I don't know what keeps me comin back to this place. the restaurant has got some OK food , I got a chicken fried steak and it was OK .some of the steaks are somewhat OK and their hamburgers are also OK .The buffet is sometimes really gross the people who eat here are usually quite strange and steal food and silverware. I mean if you're a trucker this is probably a good place to stop real quick for "food" and a sink shower. there are other restaurants in the area so if you're looking for a really nice place, just go eat somewhere else. however if you just want to go to a place where you could kind of be yourself if you're not very fancy person or want to act strange, go eat the all you can eat low-quality buffet. I just recommend because it is so strange. this place and their store that they have here is OK. they have a couple things that are really worthwhile if your a trucker. If you need supply's or replacement parts they have it. they also have really discusting hotdogs at the gas station store. but I was here today they had low quality tamales in boiling water . The water overflowed onto the floor. There was also a coffee dispenser that was dispensing coffee onto the floor. some truckers decide to go to the bathroom and brush their teeth they also tend to shower in the sink. I know I'm making this out to be really Bad, but it's not that bad if you're willing to put up with some of it . I had to use the bathroom but we were here and all the sea covers were In the toilet. The toilet also had diarrhea it was a little annoying honestly. if you're up for the challenge I'd stop here. I don't know how the management really handles their team, and this place could be better but it could definitely be a lot worse. if you're looking for some quality places there's a Denny's up the freeway and there's some other local restaurants nearby so I'd suggest stopping there if you're really looking for something nice. but it's more of an experience that a restaurant . you'll never see anything else like it read more
