The food is delicious and they have generous portions. The service is friendly and mostly serve for takeout. The ambiance is lacking so it's not a place to take customers or your sweetheart but if what you want is good and plentiful food, this is a good place to visit. They do allow one to eat in but really, so one can eat their takeout at the restaurant.!Many truckers make this their regular stop. Grants, New Mexico is certainly lacking in restaurants but this is a regular stop for me when I'm visit.

For people that don't know I live that 18 wheeler road life and I cook majority of the time. So if I can find a good restaurant near a stop Hubby and I are there! This spot was definitely tasty & authentic, and most importantly the staff was friendly. I stick to the veggie curries like masala and dahl soups, don't forget the garlic nan (yesss honey) Most definitely going to placed on one of my favs when passing through that way on the Interstate. Note: currently only accepting take out orders due to the bs that started in 2020, I won't say it's name! (Rolls eyes)

Dry/burnt Tandoori Chicken. Disappointing.

Been here many times before, food has been great. Today was a WTF HAPPENED?!? kind of day... Tandoori chicken very dry and poorly seasoned. They do serve a full tray of legs and thighs, $17.00. I didn't show you the burnt pieces. You know how it is. You experience a wonderful meal prior to your last visit, only to return to sheer disappointment. Kitchen staff turn over, regular cook out sick or on strike? Also ordered the Chana Masala, medium spicey. Weak and watered down. Sorry, didn't take a picture. Use your imagination. Cannot honestly recommend this place any longer if this is their "new normal". Maybe I went on an "off day?" Spin the wheel & hope for the best...

Fergoodnessakes, we had Indian food at 8AM in Milan, NM, by a truck stop. Don't judge, haha....my 13-yr old could mainline Tikka Masala 24/7. Honestly, we had to check out the 84th place on 'The of Best Yelp' places in the country for 2019. I love the back story on how this place opened up. And I thank Yelp for leading me to it. First off, the food was delicious. But just about every Indian joint we've gone to has been as good to me and my family. None of their cooking separated them from many places we've been to on our travels. Portions were robust, were priced very affordable, with plenty of leftovers for the road, which we enjoyed. Here it comes... I couldn't help but think that we were invaders. Previous Yelpers spoke of friendliness from the family, but it seemed/felt demonstratively evident that if you weren't a sub-continent truck driver--you were an afterthought. Our host/server/etc (guessing a son/nephew?) was okay, but he just seemed annoyed that we showed up as early as we did. Same with the older folks who we saw with dour, sour faces (owners?). And trust me, language barrier was not an issue. Bottom line, the food was great. But having the place filled with patrons as silent as a tundra's winter night, suspiciously staring at us as we ate...was not great. As a retired military family, we've eaten all over the world, and have been welcomed by many different levels of proprietors. We don't have a problem walking in to any damned restaurant on the planet. We are happy people, and we act this way wherever we go. A smile and a friendly face from restaurant hosts makes us feel comfortable. And putting some freekin' ambient music on might have made me add another star. You have a TV there. Put on the news...a rerun of Family Matters...Bollywood...anything! Yes, cultures can mesh, but let's consider having it be a good idea to make the locals of this hemisphere a little bit more comfortable on this continent...

The buffet is divided into 3 sections- vegetarian, non vegetarian and salad/ desserts. The salad fixings were minimal. The vegetable soup was nice. The food was okay. The naan was overdone. The dessert selection was minimal. I can get sliced apples and melon at the market. The decor is nice but booths are very dark , high and uncomfortable. I did not feel welcome the entire time i was there. My overall experience was lacking .The buffet( for what it is) is way overpriced-$18.99!!! I will go to other indian buffets in town.

The interior is aesthetically pleasing, spotless, and you can tell that they took care into making that space extremely hospitable. And the food has always been a 8-10/10. The buffet was fresh, clean, and well stocked. The other times I ordered individual meals they were always extremely flavorful, hot, and fresh. The Garlic Naan and Saag are always my favorites. I've tried several other dishes that have wonderful depth to them and are extremely well made. You can tell the dishes are made with passion for the craft. The service is fantastic. I really appreciate the care that is shown for every table that comes in, by every employee. I've had a few people taking care of me at each of my visits and all of them have made me feel welcome and taken care of. I always leave with leftovers, extremely satisfied with my meal, and feel valued as a customer. What any dining experience should be.

The food is much much better than the desserts. The saag paneer extra spicy is my favorite item here. My mouth is drooling as I discuss it. I tried all the desserts and there wasn't a single one which I loved, and I've had Indian desserts many times before. I would definitely come back for the food, Albuquerque doesn't really have many options for Indian food and the food here is pretty decent!

4.5 stars for service 3.5 stars for taste…read more3 stars for dinner price Channa Masala for mild yet flavorful taste Sure, try this place. It won't be your favorite but you won't regret the exploration. Average dinner price for RR. Only 2 staff worked the Friday dinner rush. Thankfully with efficiency. The rice was not 6 hours old like so many Asian restaurant dinners. The spinach paneer tasted unique compared to other Indian restaurants, though not necessarily better. The spinach itself did not spark joy. It had a certain crunchiness, though that's not the right word, and I'm a saag curry food snob so I'll move on. The fish curry uses mahimahi. Can't blame the average restaurant for the world's declining budget fish quality. This place was no exception, on this day at least. The fish was the weak link; the sauce was reasonably nice if not a bit bland. The channa (garbanzo beans) tasted fresher than other dishes and the sauce was so good that we almost got a second order just for that.

The only problem here is that there were too many delicious choices! I chose the yogi bowl with spiced potatoes and chana masala. My husband chose the "green plate" with stuffed poblano peppers. While my son had the cauliflower tacos with black beans. We all enjoyed our meals and left the restaurant feeling full and happy. To those who complain that the food is "bland", I totally disagree. Try their sauces, my favorite was the date chutney. The service was also friendly and fast. I will say, however, that the dining area needed a clean, but I sympathize because they did appear to be understaffed. I plan to visit again next time I'm in town!

We came around 3:30pm so we could catch the masala chai happy hour. I love masala chai and rarely have the chance to get freshly made dairy-free chai. I was disappointed basically from the first moment after walking inside. The server greeted us by announcing, "We are out of vegetables today." I didn't know how this was possible; eventually, she explained that they had run out of the "veggies of the day" that come with certain dishes such as the yogi plate; they were still able to provide vegetables in other dishes like the kitchari. But I was shocked, since I love vegetables, and their veggies of the day are so prominently advertised. I asked if the other location had vegetables available today. The server was unable to tell me. We decided to place our order anyway. I had some questions about the baked goods, since I rarely get the chance to have desserts that are vegan and seed oil-free. I was curious if any of the baked goods was entirely oil-free or at least free of coconut oil. The server seemed very unmotivated to help me figure this out. When I asked about ingredients, she just repeatedly pointed me to the labels on the cookies that denoted the type of sugar each one contained as well as certain allergens, but did not have full ingredient lists. I asked if the chef or manager might be available to clarify certain ingredients, only to be told that "the chef usually only works in the mornings." I was at a loss, and eventually, with some obvious reluctance, the server went into the kitchen to ask one of the cooks about the ingredient lists. The server returned saying "Yes, the majority of the items have coconut oil." Ummmm the majority? Which ones, exactly? At this point, I gave up and just did not order dessert. I tried to order an iced chai which they were out of. I ended up getting a hot chai as well as kitchari and dal. The chai was pretty average. It wasn't particular spicy nor particularly hot. The kitchari and dal were actually incredibly delicious. It's rare to find a restaurant that doesn't use excessive salt; these dishes were perfectly seasoned with warm, nourishing spices and very little (if any?) salt. Even the fact that they were served basically lukewarm didn't detract from how much I enjoyed them. This place seems truly special and I don't know if my experience was an exception. I really wanted to love them, but they made it pretty difficult, despite having great and healthy food.
