Mushroom Swish Smash Burger with homemade chips

Amazing food! Gabby's has a very diverse menu with homemade American classics. Server was great, ambience was very chill, food was delivered hot, fresh and fast. If you're debating where to go while on the road, stop here. If you're trying to decide between Gabby's and the nearby Iron Skillet, stop at Gabby's. All the stars!

Dessert! Actually, it's a vanilla malt. The perfect way to cap off a great lunch!

When I rolled into the truck stop across the street, I could smell the exhaust from the grill fans. It smelled like perfectly cooked burgers. I walked across, sat at the counter, and perused the menu. I chose the ribeye philly cheese steak with no peppers. The sandwich comes with chips, or there are small upcharges for fries and such. The sandwich comes on a 7" hoagie roll, with grilled onions and thick cut mushrooms (no bell peppers on mine) and swiss cheese. The fries were pretty good, too. I was the only customer while I was there. The service was good, and when Hannah wasn't checking on me, she was clean and wiping down all the prep surfaces. Well done! I would definitely eat here again.

I should have known I was not in for a pleasant experience when I walked into the diner and was the only customer! I've been there for lunch before and enjoyed the hamburger I had approximately a year ago. There aren't many options in Milan, NM and there's one less now. I ordered a sirloin steak, baked potato and green beans. It came with either a salad or a soup. I elected the salad. When the salad was served, I asked the waitress if it looked fresh and her reply was no. I asked if she could not find a fresh salad to bring me a cup of soup. The green chili beef soup was very good! The green beans were plentiful and they were decent. The baked potato was okay. The sirloin did not have much taste but was cooked as requested. I actually had to ask for A1 sauce which for those who know me, find this inconceivable! Needless to say, this was not the best dining experience. A chef and possibly the owner did not appear happy and walked past my table and didn't greet or made me feel welcomed. The place is clean but the ambiance is unremarkable but has great potential to be better. It needs to start with caring, greater engagement with customers and talking pride with the dishes they serve.

Chicken fried steak with sausage gravey, eggs, and hash browns with wonderful biscuit

The breakfast is to die for . Portions are huge should of shared. They have relocated across from truck stop off I 40. The truckers should stop here for the real deal meal. Service was superb. Breakfast chicken fried steak with sausage gravey Mm.mmm!!! Husban had the Long Haul Bacon. And sausage were delicious and eggs cooked to perfection Pancakes yummy. He normally can eat a whole big breakfast , had to get to go box. Ambiance was old diner-like and comfortable . Highly recommended a stop at this place in Grants.

Was hard to find but worth it! We both had rice bowls and they were really nice! Would recommend to anyone wanting a good meal in Grant/Milan

We needed a place to stop for refreshments and then decided to eat here since the place looked super cool! This is a no frills, nostalgic diner with superb service. Our kiddos were fussy from being in the car so our waitress came over to give us crackers and snacks while we waited for food. They were super attentive and friendly to us as a family, it was such a refreshing stop. I would recommend the fried chicken basket and chocolate malt shake. The rice bowl wasn't bad but I preferred the chicken basket. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed!

I hadn't been back to this restaurant since the previous owners that owned it as "Wow Diner" and was curious to see how and what the new place had become! I like that they kept the original diner theme and ambiance as the original restaurant. The food is classic diner eating that you'd expect. But I was highly impressed with the flavor the food provided. My salmon had the perfect searedness from the pan with its rich spices and tang from the lemon, the zucchini had a similar complimentary taste of tang and seasonings, and the lime rice paired well with the dish. My husband also enjoyed his burger but watch out that jalapeño has a quick! We were stuffed by the time we left, we had no room for dessert but definitely want to come back for some when we get the chance! They serve yummy looking pies and cheesecake! The service was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was kept cleanly. I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu!

The casino is kinda strict, doesn't allow photography which I feel really works against them considering we're in the age of TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels era, if your customers or patrons don't share the entertainment experience, there's really nothing else you can do to drive foot traffic. Organic growth comes from a feedback loop. Even a blue collared truck driver like me knows something bout marketing. But oh well. I had to put my phone away. And now, about this Great American Diner. Had I not seen the poster about this breakfast joint...I would have never known there was a diner nestled away in this village. Now that I've ordered the Pork Chops + Eggs Breakfast Platter........and at $8.99? Honestly, these are the best pork chops I've ever eaten on the road. They're packed with juice, a balanced amount of fat, the seasoning is a mix of rosemary, lime, salt, cracked pepper, garlic and oregano. And again for $8.99....wow, does this place no justice because it's empty on a Monday morning. So there it is, if you're ever on route 66, stop in here for the pork chops. Somehow the casino restaurant operators are running this place as either a loss leader (such as Costco's hotdogs), Or... Inflation doesn't exist on Indian Reservations..

The New Mexican Philly cheesesteak, arguably my favorite dish, very very different take on what a cheesesteak usually is (not in a bad way). I was first skeptical when I ordered it, but I saw all the great reviews on the dish so I had to try. This was oddly enough my 4th favorite Philly cheesesteak I've ever had, which is weird to say because the first 3 favorites were actually in Philly and made the traditional way. Something about the spicy queso sauce and the soft fatty tasting meat just really brought it home. The huevos rancheros: every inch was flavorful , saucy, cheesy and lovely. I enjoyed even more the parts where I could also taste the tortilla at the bottom, wish it was in more of the dish but it's okay the flavors were outstanding. Another 5 star dish! Next time I'll also try it with eggs over medium. The Xmas chile cheese fries: best chile cheese fries in New Mexico! The fries themselves tasted like they were hand cut, so either they had some high quality freezer fries or they definitely cut those fries by hand. Either way I wasn't complaining! Their green chile was insanely good. We also had the Green Chile stew, the flavors and ingredients were really good. I think for people that love home cooking this will feel really nostalgic for them. Like grandmas caldo she used to make. For me, the dry texture of the beef reminded me way too much of my mom's dry / rough beef she always had in her stews . Objectively I can say it was a really nice caldo, but the tortillas, not sure how I could grab on to much of the food with it really. I think this might be a dish best eaten in house. I also tipped their staff $2 in addition to the driver tip , and they wrote a funny joke on the plate which I thought was cute haha. I kept the rating at 5 stars but I hope that management reads this review because I do have one critique. All the food was in styrofoam and non sustainable plastic. Styrofoam especially has been banned from some places including California because when heated it, it adds cancer causing chemicals into your food. I would gladly pay $0.35 per meal to receive the meals in sustainable packaging that will keep me healthy. Because of this, I think I won't be ordering from here for delivery and hope that I have time to make the 20 minute drive to go there in person. It's really good food! Found this place on DoorDash but the funny part is it's been near my house the whole time next to the barber shop I've been to plenty of times.

We were told it would take 15 min, but after 30 min had passed we had to ask about our order as a larger group that ordered after us received their order before we did. I then watched this happen to others waiting for their food. The burger meat was greasy, but good. Condiments were poor quality and detracted from the overall flavor. Fries were fine, similar to in n out style. All the ketchup bottles on the tables were empty, tables had not been wiped, and it seemed like the staff spent more time staring at the customers waiting for their food than actually preparing the meals efficiently.

Great servers! Everyone was helpful and kind so front of house manager must be doing their job!…read moreFood was delicious. Crispy Brussels sprouts had great flavor but way too much cayenne pepper (which adds nothing but heat) my husband ate them but said he would prefer less heat. I had 2 bites and gave up. Baked brie was amazing I loved the granny Smith apples! My husband loved them too. We also got the hummus duo which has dates on it and I used a date in the brie that was fantastic! I'll ask for that next time! It was the bomb. Hummus duo was good the watermelon radish was beautiful on the plate but gave both hummus a bitter flavor. Shrimp and grits. We live in Alabama currently and this was our least favorite dish of the day. Shrimp were cooked well and so were the grits but there was just something else it needed. Parmesan cheese and some onions maybe. Greek salad delicious. The flash fried chick peas made it. We needed more dressing and the wait staff was prompt and sweet about it. Spicy Lime Ceasar was ok till he requested more dressing then it was amazing. I was afraid of ordering it but the dressing wasn't too spicy . White sangria I had was disappointing it was more of a 1995 wine spritzer than a wine infused with citrus which is the very essence of sangria. It was ok and had I ordered a wine spritzer I would say yummo but I ordered sangria. Pork Belly flat bread was the winner of the night the tomato jam made that dish. I would love more on it next time but we will definitely be ordering that dish again! Yes we had a lot of left over food! But I love sampling a menu and this menu has a lot to offer. We will be back to try 4 or five other things. I look forward to my return.

In a rare turn of events, both kids got the same thing, the Korean chicken bites with the sauce on the side, which was a great decision bc it did have a kick to it. The chicken itself was a bit dry. Both adults also got the pork belly flatbread. I found it a bit unbalanced with too much sauce and not enough other toppings, and the base wasn't as crispy as I prefer. Speaking of crispy, we opted for the appetizer brussel sprouts, and they were a bit chewy and on the not so super crispy side. Service was fine, and glad to have a little break from heavier New Mexican cuisine on this night. Lots of variety on the cocktail and adult beverage menu too.
