Overall a nice experience. The aaa was attentive and price point great, the steak was cooked very well and the meal went great.

I don't normally like steaks but I decided to be brave and get the smoked prime rib medium rare and WOW was it good! The entrees come with a choice of soup or salad, and the tomato basil bisque was amazing. Only complaint is I wish the brussel sprouts had been crispier, but otherwise phenomenal dish. Service was quick and friendly, and drinks were constantly being refilled. The decor is super unique and combined with the wooden interior gives the place a very homey feel. read more

We drove down from Los lunas as a friend told us about her son's restaurant and we wanted to support them. The food was delicious. Came out quick and prepared as ordered. Our waitress however, was pleasant but very forgetful. I had to remind her several times for items requested, such as lemons. We also ordered two to go drinks which never arrived. The moment she received payment, she disappeared never to be seen by us again. After about 15 minutes we left. We do plan on trying again, hopefully with another server. read more

Well it's ok. The steak was nothing special it tasted like every sirloin I have ever had it was black pepper Steak. I got a side of green chile to put on the steak which was ok the corn had Green chile in it and it was great. The salad with ranch was good the ticket was 39.00. Every year this is the #1 place to eat after weigh ins for Hero's Conquest tournament. It's almost like tradition now, food is great and I would highly recommend this place, especially if your wrestler made weight and needs to eat. Haven't been here in awhile and then we seen the rib special on facebook and went and got it. Opened the box and they forgot the veggies it was supposed to come with. The ribs are tiny and dry and an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes, wow. Two thumbs down from me. read more

This was the other nice restaurant we had dinner at while staying in Socorro. We were hungry after a long day of bird photography down at the National Wildlife Refuge. We arrived and were greeted by the hostess who took us to a nice table. Our server soon came to see us and take drink orders. They have a decent enough wine list so we ordered a bottle of the Kendall Jackson which the server brought out promptly and then took our food orders. We had salads that were fresh and tasty and had home made dressings. Steak is the important thing here, so one of us had the ribeye, we also ordered the barramundi and the chicken fried steak. The CFS had a really good creamy gravy over it and the mashed potatoes, fish came with a rice pilaf. Everything we got was top notch, large enough servings but not overwhelming. The interior was bright and cheerful and all decorated for Christmas. They have a real stage coach as you enter the restaurant, really in beautiful condition. The prices are fare considering the good food you get and the drinks from the bar as well as the great service from staff members. We would dine here again based on this visit. read more

I'm in town for work and I've ate at Jackson Ranch a couple of times. First time I got the brisket and fries. The second time I ordered a New York Strip, medium rare, and loaded baked potato, fully loaded. Both times the food was excellent! The steak was cooked to perfection and the brisket was good. Also, the homemade biscuit that comes out before the meal is delicious. The service was wonderful and attentive. Neither time did I have to ask for refills and the wait for the food was not too long. The ambiance is casual. The stagecoach you see when you first walk in is pretty neat. I'll definitely be back before I go home! read more

Their menu features dry-aged steaks, burgers, and other manner of grilled, fried, and smoked bovine. The Good: *Reservations available thru their website *Menu is large but not overly-so as they had a lot of really good options and not too much fluff. *Both sides we tried were excellent. The green chile creamed corn in particular had great flavor and the perfect amount of green chiles. The Brussels Sprouts were also perfectly cooked and had delicious flavors with a nice balance of salty, sweet, and umami. *Local beers on-tap *Three dining rooms w/ one bar area *Friendly service *Love the old-timey cowboy décor and vibe *Carissa's barramundi was cooked well and had good flavor. The Meh: *Buttermilk biscuits were delicious but served cold. They would've been much, much better warm. The Ugly: *I ordered a rib-eye steak, but I'm 98% sure they ended up giving me a New York strip instead. Which, nothing against a NY strip, but there's $9 difference between them... With that said, it was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was pretty good overall, but not much to write home about. TLDR: Despite the possible steak snafu, our meal here at Jackson Ranch was quite enjoyable overall, and we'd definitely come back on our next visit to Socorro. read more

The atmosphere here is great! Wow! An entire stage coach in the front area. It opens close to noon and the staff is so so. They do check on you and the food does take forever. I have to say the food is really good and the portions are not small but not to big. I had the tomato soup and it has a kick to it, maybe added some chili, but it is good. They had smoked prime rib. My wife and I split it and took some home. It was busy but we had a large crowd after a memorial. We called ahead and they were ready for a party of about 20. We had two servers. They did a great job keeping things simple. Others had a fish dish. They liked it. Some before us said don't order the chicken fried steak but several did and had no complaints. Wow! It pains me to write this after such a great first visit. Something has changed here and it was painfully apparent. Waitstaff is still Outstanding. Food was horrible, First we ordered the special of the day, a beef stew. The meat was grissly and fatty and had a very poor taste. The mashed potatoes it laid on was ok. Biscuit served with it was stale. It was so bad my husband ordered a burger, thinking it would be good (as before). Nope! It was horrible. Waitress even said it was a lesser quality meat. What? Why? Why not tell us when we ordered. The meat was inedible, disgusting, he couldn't eat any of it, stew or burger. One bite abs he spit it out. I ordered the Brussel sprouts, they were nothing like the ones I had on our earlier visit. Boo! We paid for everything despite telling them our concerns. So headed south from Albuquerque, I was surprised to see a menu with such varied choices. The service was very attentive and food was fairly quick. The quality was good, but not great. The steak on the steak salad was cut too thick, and the onion rings were overcooked/burnt. All these great reviews, somehow our experience was not so 5 star. We made a reservation, but we ended up as a party of 5 alone in the back room. It was isolated and not a great place to be. It took an incredibly long time for our food to come out and then it was cold. Our waitress never came back once our food came out. No soda or water refills, no seeing whether our food was ok. We had to ask for another place setting and never got it until I went foraging. And it the food was not ok. Medium rare stake was well done and incredibly tough. Crab legs still frozen. Everyone's food and fries were cold to the touch when they should have been hot. My brisket was bone dry and needed to be drowned in sauce. We had to literally go into the other room and the owner found us. He apologized and was pleasant, but once hot food came out it still wasn't great. Steak cooked right, but still tough. Crab legs tasteless. Brussels we're good and so were the salads, but the main courses were below average. Appreciated the 10% discount, but we would rather have had a good meal. And this isn't cheap meal We are locals too. We rarely come here because we eat at home mostly, but this did not encourage us to come back. read more

Had a party of six and 5 out of the 6 steaks came back raw to undercooked rare. Sent all 5 steaks back. Mine came back half cooked on the underside and the top rare. I don't mind a rare steak so I ate it. While waiting for the check, my body immediately rejected it. Ended up throwing up the whole steak immediately. I paid for everything just because I was trying to get out of the restaurant so I could vomit, but I never should have paid. In the end, I never consumed a meal. read more

A business trip brought us to this part of New Mexico. Heading home we decided we need to eat first. A rustic looking building housing a steakhouse sounded pretty good. So in we go - its busy so a little wait was to be had. Drinks arrived with flaky biscuits & cinnamon butter. We ordered the NY Strip steak med rare with Green Chile Cream Corn and Fish & Chips. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. A little disappointed that the steak came out medium (I generally order rare to get the med rare) I figured a steakhouse would get it right. Oh well. Otherwise the meal was delicious. The cream corn wasn't too sweet. This let the flavor of the red & green chiles come through. The fish was nicely browned & flaky without being greasy. This was a good choice for dinner and we'll stop there the next time we're in the area. One thing of note. They are definitely pro military. There is a Fallen Comrade Table present and in view of all those walking to their seats. My only suggestion would be to place an explanation of the symbolism and meaning of each item on the table to educate those of their significance. read more

Went here 3/10. The server was super, we had specific orders. She accommodated as much as she could. One important thing, they don't make ANY substitutes. It was regulated very tightly. I understand that it is probably procedure, but I offered to forgo the soup and rice for mashed potatoes. I was told no. This probably would have saved money for the restaurant. The food was delicious! So service good, food great, and the ambiance was really cool. It is like the Wild West, actual stagecoaches and nice theme. I would have given it five stars; however, it was my bday and I was supposed to get a cookie. The server said I had to be hoisted on a saddle that was propped on a half wall. I asked can I just have a cookie and was denied. My family members are plentiful there and none said they HAVE to be HOISTED by staff onto a saddle. It looks dangerous and could be a liability to the restaurant. I have bad knees and don't want to be touched to be hoisted. That's an uncomfortable position to put people in for a cookie on their bday. That made me embarrassed to think that was demanded of me for a SIMPLE cookie. That left me on a bad note. read more

So I had a wild idea... we're from Rio Rancho and we called our family in Las Cruces and said, Hey let's meet up for lunch I found a halfway spot for us to try! This place has only been open approximately 1 month. The main seating area is small but appears there is two other seating areas. The area was clean and very open. We were greeted and seated quickly. The wait staff was excellent. The manager came over and checked on us as well. There was a small snafu with the soup but they told us immediately and fixed the issue. Service was excellent overall. What a great addition to Socorro! We've been waiting for Jackson to open, and now every are open and we were totally happy! We had two excellent salads, ribeye and chicken, and a burger that was described as "the best burger I've ever had" - I had a bite and must agree. The place is very nice, clean, and service is friendly and quick. They are working on acquiring the liquor license and have a nice bar set up when license is approved.
