If you are within 50 miles of Magdalena, New Mexico - you must eat here. Honestly the food was incredible. Fresh, hot, delicious. Just perfect. We are going to be making an annual pilgrimage to this place. I can't stop dreaming about my chicken sandwich. Now, I've had many chicken sandwiches in my life. I've been to Nashville. I've eaten hot chicken. This sandwich was incomparable!!! The spices were flavorful and not 'blow out my palate' hot just wake up your nose hot. nice pepper blend smokey and savory. the bun.... omg.... they have a talent baker to craft that to-die-for brioche. The onion rings were light and crispy like tempura onions and naturally sweet. They just pop down quick. Yum. The burger was sweet and spicy jalapeño. Cowboy Candy is right. Spectacular burgers (beef and bean). amazing toppings that enhanced both burgers and beautifully toasted brioche buns. Lived the sweet potato fries and onion rings. Ate outside with our pups, and the wait staff and owner were so sweet and accommodating. We bought the puppy jerky, which our dogs adored. Well worth a sit down meal stop while on the road! This southwest diner has great food, quick, friendly service and great location. We both had the green chili cheese burger and shared a side of sweet potato fries! So delicious!!! He had the Santa Fe Brewing Co Happy Camper beer and I had the Prickly Pear Margarita. Very refreshing. Food was delivered quickly and restaurant was clean and comfortable. Don't travel through Magdalena often, but will stop here again. read more

This little restaurant out in the middle of nowhere is great! The double green chile cheeseburger I got was seasoned and cooked well. It was a very good hamburger. I really can't wait to go back and try some of the other burgers made here. I got mine with onion rings and they were delicious. My kid got chicken teriyaki and rice and she loved it. Excellent food and service! It was so good, we stopped at Tumbleweeds twice, to and from our trip to the Gila National Forest. I believe anything on their menu is worth trying! We had their burgers and spicy chicken sandwich. Wow! We ate every bit of our food! Ordered green chile mac and cheese to go because we had to try more of their menu. Smash Burgers for the win! I got the cheeseburger and my dad got the mushroom but he switched to cheddar instead of the Swiss. My mom was all over the Mac and cheese with bacon and green chilis. The burger I got was perfectly cooked, the cheeses got to hang out on the grill and get charred and crispy too. Now let me talk pickles for a second. HOMEMADE!!!!! Thin, crunchy and the perfect dill to add flavor to already great burger. My dad said the mushrooms were perfect, the bacon was the best - slabbed thick and crispy. And we both got fries that were crispy, just the right saltiness and plentiful. Mac and cheese was yummy!!!! This is the second time we've been to tumbleweeds, and they're still spot on. I got a green chile cheeseburger and my wife got green chile mac & cheese. I'm so thankful we stopped into this diner. Conveniently located in the middle of some of the most beautiful mountain views around, I stopped in for food and drink and was absolutely blown away by one of the best flavor experiences I could have treated myself to. My drink (the prickly pear margarita) was extremely refreshing. I was blown away by the flavor of my meal (Teriyaki chicken) which was beautifully prepared, and my fiancée got the hot chicken sticks which were actually very spicy but in a good way and also came with hand cut fries that were very delicious and a perfect side pairing of homemade ranch dipping sauce. Stopped by not entirely sure what to expect from a cute shack in the middle of nowhere. Boy were we in for a pleasant surprise. They were able to make their salads vegetarian by adding an OUT OF THE WORLD black-bean patty that was charred just right. And the Mac-and-cheese was so good that we picked up an order to go on our way out. I would love to see more vegetarian options on the menu, based on just what we ate. I love finding awesome restaurants in unlikely places, like small towns seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The cafe is eclectic and colorful, and filled with art and other cool things for sale. The food is homemade and delicious (going back to try the chicken teriyaki!). And the owners were super nice. Definitely worth the drive. Wow! What an absolute gem in the middle of no where. Food is absolutely wonderful... I highly recommend the burgers. The owners and wait staff are super friendly and helpful with beautiful smiles on their faces. We visited on a Friday afternoon on our way back from seeing the VLA. Service was friendly and attentive. Our meals arrived quickly. My husband tried the green chile cheeseburger with onion rings and loved it. The onion rings were cooked perfectly so that the onion did not come out when you bit into it. I had the chicken stix with fries. The chicken stix were a little heavy with the seasoned buttermilk batter (for my taste), but were tasty with the ranch dressing that came with it.
