If you are within 50 miles of Magdalena, New Mexico - you must eat here. Honestly the food was incredible. Fresh, hot, delicious. Just perfect. We are going to be making an annual pilgrimage to this place. I can't stop dreaming about my chicken sandwich. Now, I've had many chicken sandwiches in my life. I've been to Nashville. I've eaten hot chicken. This sandwich was incomparable!!! The spices were flavorful and not 'blow out my palate' hot just wake up your nose hot. nice pepper blend smokey and savory. the bun.... omg.... they have a talent baker to craft that to-die-for brioche. The onion rings were light and crispy like tempura onions and naturally sweet. They just pop down quick. Yum. The burger was sweet and spicy jalapeño. Cowboy Candy is right. Savory meat and again that beautiful bun. This place is a gem.

Spectacular burgers (beef and bean). amazing toppings that enhanced both burgers and beautifully toasted brioche buns. Lived the sweet potato fries and onion rings. Ate outside with our pups, and the wait staff and owner were so sweet and accommodating. We bought the puppy jerky, which our dogs adored. Highly recommend going out of your way to eat here!!

Well worth a sit down meal stop while on the road! This southwest diner has great food, quick, friendly service and great location. We both had the green chili cheese burger and shared a side of sweet potato fries! So delicious!!! He had the Santa Fe Brewing Co Happy Camper beer and I had the Prickly Pear Margarita. Very refreshing. Food was delivered quickly and restaurant was clean and comfortable. Don't travel through Magdalena often, but will stop here again.

This little restaurant out in the middle of nowhere is great! The double green chile cheeseburger I got was seasoned and cooked well. It was a very good hamburger. I really can't wait to go back and try some of the other burgers made here. I got mine with onion rings and they were delicious. My kid got chicken teriyaki and rice and she loved it. The service here was great and the people were very friendly. This place serves some very good high quality food. Two thumbs up from me and my mini foodie daughter! Be back soon for more!

Excellent food and service! It was so good, we stopped at Tumbleweeds twice, to and from our trip to the Gila National Forest. I believe anything on their menu is worth trying! We had their burgers and spicy chicken sandwich. Wow! We ate every bit of our food! Ordered green chile mac and cheese to go because we had to try more of their menu. Definitely worth the stop, or the detour! Can't forget their cute decor, I loved it! Owners were very friendly.

This is the second time we've been to tumbleweeds, and they're still spot on. I got a green chile cheeseburger and my wife got green chile mac & cheese. The portions were huge the service prompt, and the price point was very fair. If you happen to be on Highway 60 in Magdalena, give it a try.

All three of the items on that section of the menu are served with a salad, and are under the same name as some of the other sandwiches that they offer. My mom had ordered the southwest turkey, off the low carb menu, thinking that it would just come with a side salad, so she also ordered some of the soup of the day. Apparently she pointed to the low carb section on the menu while ordering, but didn't say it out loud. Idk, she probably messed up by not saying it. Anyways, when the waitress brought out the southwest turkey Sandwich, and not the low carb meal, mom realized that she'd accidentally ordered the wrong thing. Instead of saying "I didn't realize that you meant the low carb, I'm sorry," our waitress said "well that's not what you told me" and walked away to get our ticket. Then, she proceeded to say that it's not her job to ask if people wanted the low carb option or not, and that my mom should have told her in the first place. Only after realizing that she got a $2 tip, she finally said sorry and then began starting an ARGUMENT with my mother, who is a former waitress herself. In the end after my mom said have a great day, the waitress made a sarcastic comment about how great her day was going and we left. The food was good, aside from the overcooked burger that my dad had. But our waitress was incredibly rude, which is surprising for a little town like Datil. We probably won't be back after that experience. Maybe she was not having a great day, but that's no way to treat returning customers.

Without food, but you could bring your own or order in. Nope, the brewery closes at 5:00 on a Saturday. We asked at our lodging about options, and Blackie's was on a list they gave us. Blackie's was classified on Yelp as only a liquor store, so it didn't show up on any searches. They do have a package liquor store on site as well. The front entry that is shared with the liquor store had bars on the doors. Inside, Blackie's had VFW/event hall vibes. There was not much to speak of in the way of decor. They did have food and you need to order from the Double C dining room server, which shares the space, and if you're sitting at the bar you'll have a separate tab. I was glad to see they had enchiladas with green or red chile sauce, and burgers with green or red chiles (1/2 pound or 1/3 pound). Prices were reasonable at $12-ish for a meal. The bar and neighboring large room featured pool tables and darts, and a 20-ish year old TouchTunes but there was no music playing. Sounds like after the dinner crowd leaves the music might get turned up. Our vantage point view was staring into an empty room with booths and wooden chairs, but eventually some people filed in there to play pool. There was no internet on our AT&T phones which led us to watch rodeo tv and talk to some of the customers. I drank vodka tonics and the Mr. had Coors Banquet. Our bar tab was cheap. Mr. R ordered the nachos, and they were pretty huge. I ordered enchiladas with green chile sauce and the presentation was quite nice and the beef tasted fresh. It was a good choice. People had to wait a bit at times for drinks, but overall this turned out to be a better stop than we expected!
