Christmas Breakfast Burritos: one red and one green. - Two plates of Mexican cuisine, featuring enchiladas with cheese and sauce, and a burrito with shredded meat and rice, on a wooden table.

If you aren't paying attention you will drive right by this gem in the middle of west central New Mexico. I first fell in love with this place 33 years ago working construction in the area. And after all these years, they are still offering some of the best home cooked food in the state. For breakfast we had the burritos: one red and one green. The sauce is what makes or breaks these dishes, and these are nearly perfect. Flavorful, bright, and just enough heat. They have a chicken fried steak on the menu that I enjoyed so long ago, that has not changed....the steak itself will cover your plate. If you are traveling in this area, adjust your plans to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner here. You won't regret it and the staff will make you feel like you are right at home.

I was going through this town and stopped here for lunch, I loved it! Not only do they also have a convenience store, gas and bar but they also have a restaurant! My food was very good and well priced for the portion and our waiter was phenomenal! She was very fast and super friendly!

Steak wrapped in bacon ! - A plate features a cooked steak seasoned with spices, French fries, and slices of bread, served in a rustic setting.

The meat at this place is soo good. People who complain about fat must not like a flavorful steak. I loved it. Their pies are also really good.

The menu offers breakfast items like eggs, steak, pancakes, and burritos, along with sides and lunch dishes such as burgers and sandwiches, served with chips.

Food was good, and cooked exactly as asked. Service was awesome from start to finish, attentive, personable, very friendly. The atmosphere inside was very laid back, nostalgic and like taking a trip to the past. Wasn't overly crowded with tables, and though the place was full, there wasn't a lot of background noise.

Special was corn beef and Cabbage and shrimp salad and both were outstanding! Great coffee and homemade pies too!

Amazing food! We were excited to eat some wholesome hood with fresh everything including fresh green greens.

This place is your one stop shop in this small burg of approximately 60 people. A gas station, meat market and yes... The Eagle Guest Ranch. The service was spectacular. The food was nothing less then awesome. The prices fell below what they should be for the amount of food you get. It was well worth the 1 hour drive.

This is inside the store. Funny!

Traveling through the backroads, I happened upon this little town and stopped here for lunch. I had the Mexican cheeseburger. It's a large seasoned beef patty with cheese inside a tortilla and then covered with your choice of red or green sauce. It was really good! The restaurant is closed due to Covid but they have takeout. It's a neat little town. I got to meet some of the townspeople. The also have a gas station and inside there is a meat market and small grocery store. The owners are very nice. My food came out fast and prices are very reasonable. Looking around the store, it's perfect for campers who need supplies. They have everything. On my way out of town I saw a few campgrounds. Once Covid is over I'm coming back to camp. The town is very small with some abandoned buildings. The scenery is stunning. Especially right outside of town.

Loved Eagle Guest Ranch! Definitely worth the drive out from Socorro, NM. Was out here for work and it was suggested by coworkers to try the best bacon wrapped ribeye and it did not disappoint!! Toni was a doll! Thank you for the southern hospitality also really good margaritas!

Yes - you should stop here! Don't let the gas station setting and the "don't blink your eyes or you'll miss it" setting fool you! This rustic restaurant alongside the highway between the VLA and Pie Town is essentially in the middle of nowhere but the food is a great deal for your dollar! This place also has a general store, deli rack and a butcher on site which may appeal to others in your party. This is a family business and you can feel the hospitality when you walk in. (Thank you!) The menu is deceivingly plain when you consider the decorated dishes that emerge from the kitchen. We had the Green Chile Cheeseburgers and they were super (just that after a traveling day and time at the VLA I could've eaten another burger). They are family friendly and have some nice Friday specials I believe must be made to draw in the hard-working local community. I had the blueberry pie a la mode to top of my great burger and it met all my expectations for a restaurant so close to the iconic Pie Town. You should definitely stop here if you passing through on Highway 60.

Considering the remote location, this is a great restaurant. I don't eat steak, but other people recommend them for the steak dishes.

Steak was good, had a bunch of flavor but a whole lot of fat. Approx 50% was far. The pecan pie was great. Skip the berry one.

I was about halfway through my very tardy "Sixth Annual First Quarter Odyssey: 1-country/2-states,…read more09-23APR2023", and had just had a superb overnight at the outstanding High Country Lodge. I spent most of the previous day cycling East from amazing Quemada on US60, so a refreshing/regenerating overnight was essential. Obviously, I needed an equally refreshing/energizing start and this cafe--now named "Evetts" (formerly Espresso)--was the absolutely the BEST place to start! Besides unique/fresh/nutritious meals, I was almost shocked and delighted to learn that affogato was available. When biketouring/travelling, this is one of the greatest morning treats I've ever had--not only plenty of needed caffeine, and (¡probably unneeded!) sugar. I enjoyed other filling dishes before continuing my Eastern direction on US60 to SocorroNM. I didn't cycle away immediately--Magdalena is such an attractive/"unknown/undiscovered" community in which the history lives on with the structures restored/repurposed! The abandoned tracks have a great roadbed waiting for more full development/hiking-biking trail for use by locals and long-distance enthusiasts alike. ¡This is such a tremendous community, and I look forward to returning--I'll plan to stay at least TWO nights for a full experience! It definitely has my coveted "iWheel of Approval!" ¡Highly recommended'
