We had to try the famous Laguna Burger! It's so good! Super fresh! No kidding! This is one of the best burgers I've ever had. It's not dry the meat is juicy and well seasoned, with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. And that green chile? Wow! Fresh cut fries are always the best, too. The restaurant is connected to the Route 66 pit stop. It was cool to learn the history of the place, they have old photos hanging up. My only suggestion is they could use a little sweeping and wiping down the tables and chairs. Other than that, I highly recommend this restaurant! It's a pretty damn good burger. It's huge. It's got plenty of green and red Chiles. There's just a couple of things I would change bc of personal taste. This is really a 3.5 but Yelp doesn't give that option... One thing as a tourist here...and also a lover of Mexican food...slapping Hatch Chiles on anything doesn't make it gold. I'm a fan of Laguna's green chile cheeseburger. The green chiles are perfect and add so much flavor. Even their 1/3 lb "wimpy" burger was big and filling for $8.99. Patty nice and juicy with good flavor. Other toppings fresh, just the right amount of pickles and mustard. Sesame seed bun soft. Regular size is 1/2 lb for $10.99. I also had their pork tamales, which were fresh, soft, lightly packed, and full of marinated shredded pork goodness. They aren't too spicy too which I like. And a great value at 2 for $2.99. Workers here are just nice enough, and were happy to take our takeout order from the road. There are only a couple of tables inside, with additional picnic tables outside in the shade. The menu does not have a lot to choose from, but that does not matter. The item to try is the burger - half a pound of ground beef with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, cheese, and homegrown green chile. The meat is fresh, and the burger is made-to-order so the end product is a meal that is juicy, tasty, and hearty. Order the combo so you can get a side of fresh thick-cut fries along with a drink. For all that food, the cost for the combo is only $7.99 plus tax, and that is the most expensive item on the menu. Limited menu options, i wish they had more availability for gluten free AND/OR vegetarian/vegan. It was a real bummer but their grilled cheese was really delicious, the waffle fries were so good, i wasn't a fan of the regular fries but my husband loved them. The service was bit slow but still really friendly. The ice cream machine was broken so they couldn't make shakes which is understandable but disappointing given how hot it is. Oh my goodness the burger was so fresh and very large. It hit the spot after a long drive from Sedona to Amarillo which was our stopping point before continuing to KC. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As their sign says, the meat isn't frozen and I watched them create our hamburger patty before cooking. We played it safe and didn't get green chili on our burger. The fries had good fresh flavor, but could have been cooked a little longer. Because everything was made fresh, it takes about 15min to prepare your order, but it was worth it. Take the opportunity to walk, stretch your legs and learn about the history of the area. After all, you are on the historic Route 66. Don't expect tasteless fast food timing and prices. Wish we could have sat outside to enjoy it, but Covid prevented the opportunity. Just get the combo because the fries are just as good. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. No frozen patty or fries. 1/2 pound patty weighed out and shaped after you order. They are just delicious. They come with cheese and green chile with all the fixins; lettuce, onion, tomato and sliced pickles. They patty is cooked to perfection. Not over cooked not undercooked either so you don't find your bottom bun soaked in meat juice. The fries are fresh cut and fried to order as well. It may be a burger but it's not fast food, you will wait at least ten to fifteen minutes. Perhaps a little bit longer if you stop during the lunch rush. You gotta stop here the next chance you get. Today I ordered my lunch here and gave the cashier specific instructions to leave out the Chili and pickles, as I have allergy problems with these two food items.
