This spot is the bomb.com. The best dining in the Gallup area. For all of you Tiki Masala loyalists, I challenge you to break out of your routine and try the chicken soup here. Having experienced some local Indian restaurants in the past we weren't too timid but this place is attached to a truck stop. The meal and service were exceptional. I had the Lamb Vindaloo with garlic naan and my two dining mates had curry (chicken and goat). We all selected medium spice level and two of us agreed we could've gone a notch spicier. Great flavors at a truck stop. The buffet was closed so we ordered when we walked in. If you are driving through Gallup, call 20-30 mins ahead. All the classics. I got a saag and my boyfriend the curry. Both were excellent. You get a pint of curry and a pint of rice per entree. I have yet to find Indian food this food in Phoenix. I was really impressed with the flavor profiles of both of our meals. 10/10 for Indian food but 100/10 for truck stop food. Grateful to have stopped here and likely will again as we travel between Phoenix and Taos frequently. read more

Fortunately, I'm on the road a lot and I've been amazed at how many Indian restaurants there are at truck stops. Of them all, this is my favorite! The absolute best thing is their chai, real chai, not the stuff you get at Starbucks. If you're on I-40 and you're tired of fast food then you definitely must stop here. The aloo ghobi (potatoes and cauliflower) is perfect, the samosas are big and the shell isn't too thick, and the chicken Tikka masala is truly wonderful.
