I use the drive through service at Sonic Drive-in almost daily at their 3712 Padgett Highway in Augusta, Georgia. Service is always performed with a smile and a courteous thank you, Today, at approximately 5:15 p.m., I ordered drinks at the Sonic located at 4436 Washington Road, in Evans, Georgia. When I ordered, I asked for my senior citizens discount. The clerk, very quickly, said "We don't give discounts". My reply was "Why does the Sonic across town give them? May I speak with your manager please?" The young man, without speaking to anyone, lied and said that he had just spoken to his manager and that Sonic didn't give senior citizens discounts, l then drove forward and didn't notice that this location had their trash can placed before the window. I didn't see it and had a drink cup from an earlier visit to Sonic (where I received a 10%discount when I purchased the drink) that needed to be thrown away. I asked him if he could throw it away and he said he couldn't because of health codes. I asked again to speak to his manager. At this point when he said he wasn't available I wasn't surprised. I asked him to write the managers name on a piece of paper. He did and gave it to me. I then drove around the restaurant and threw my cup away. I will never stop at this Sonic again. read more

Are you occasionally repulsed by 'regular' breakfast fare of pancakes/French toast or doughnuts? So I'm the only one? Figures. I'm not usually in range of Sonic, but early errands brought me nearby. Stopped in expecting the usual carb-heavy fare, but... The ENTIRE menu is available all day!! So I'm sitting in my car, chowing down on a fully loaded, salty, unctuous double cheeseburger with the worlds largest grin on my face. The burger is perfection, the tots are full of hot, steaming goodness and the iced coffee hit just the right spot. Don't get me wrong, love waffles, pancakes and chocolate frosted doughnuts, but on days like today they're just not "it". The alternative is waiting until 10:31am, which just means skipping breakfast altogether. Now that I know I have an option of essentially a drive through diner, the game has changed. We ordered a Big Mac, no pickles and 3 double cheeseburgers. Receipt was correct. We arrive home 25 minutes later, the Big Mac was not made to order and we had 1 cheeseburger... 2 fish sandwiches. The receipt was correct all listed as ordered. I mean really? Could you not get anything correctly through you drive-thru??????????????????? Every time we go there... hire anyone that can read, would be a great start. If they are loading up the bags... they need to be able to read! This is the RUDEST dysfunctional place ever. One month ago me and my friends wanted breakfast. Went there got it. Paid for my food. SYSTEM crashes. My card gets charged twice. Call the same day tell them about it. Typical spill give it three days. I waited a week call back. Some general manager that obviously didn't know anything that's says Um... a lot answers. Tell him the situation. He can't do anything about it. Took my number. Never heard anything. One week later... call back and get the MANAGER, tell her what's going on. And how aggravated I am. She has the audacity to tell me she doesn't have TIME to deal with me right now. Me already disgruntled gets even more pissed. This is isn't how you treat customers that have a problem already. I run a business and never would have I treated my customers this way. Then going to tell me it's really not that big of a deal just come get cash. Best hamburger in town ! Reminds me of Eat a Plenty . Great flavor . Get the double with everything on it. This is a much better burger than Red Robin !!!! The kids working there are nice . One improvement could be - make sure the orders of Tater Tots and fries are true to size. I order tots and more often than not the container is less than half full . Minor thing but if I pay for large I want large . Overall a great burger. Have not had the chicken sandwich in a while but it use to be good. My husband loves the ice cream with mms . The kitchen area could be neater . Area looks horrible from driver window vantage point . Lines get backed up at times but the staff keep it going by bringing out food etc and checking on customers. Only reason we ate somewhere else several times for burgers is because the traffic light there does not work after around 8pm or so. Columbia County should fix the situation. The light does not change to allow for traffic flow from Sonic. Great place to eat . read more

I hate going through the drive-through at Sonic but sometimes my husband insists on a cheeseburger or Ocean Breeze from Sonic and I'm stuck spending 12 minutes of my life in the car getting passed up by girls in roller skates and a line of cars behind me. I don't see the fun in waiting in your car and eating messy junk food but judging by the row of parked cars I see next to me with their motors running in their stationery cars, it's just got to one of those things I'll never understand. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich and after one bite, my husband spits his out and said it smells and tasted like a car. I took his sandwich apart and sure enough, the chicken was almost black, smelled like the bottom of a grease trap and lost it's crispy coating. I've dealt with enough hazardous waste in my life and I could tell they didn't change their oil out frequently which is a cost cutting measure and also terrible for the consumer. I often stop at this location after work for drinks. I usually miss happy hour, but they do a military discount which is nice. I went today, and was told I couldn't do the military discount on just drinks. When I said that I've been receiving it almost daily for the past year on just drinks, I was told that must have been because I got food with my drinks. I hadn't. I know it's not a huge deal, but the rude way this was spoken to me was extremely unprofessional. I usually just give whatever I save on discount as a tip. Not today. I love sonic for its quick service and good prices. Happy hour slushes and drinks are what really keep me coming back. That and the ice cream shake sales after 8pm during the summer months.
