Got to finally come to this place. Ordered a take out meal of Lobster bisque and chicken Marsala w/ risotto. It was awesome. Jason at the bar was great. He gave me good advice on what and how to order the meal. I got it home and boy, was it good. Full of flavor and plenty for 2 people. I can't wait to go back and shine in. My best friend and I went here for dinner to celebrate our birthdays and it did not disappoint! I had the Berryessa cocktail, Ahi tuna entree, house salad and flourless chocolate cake. Everything was absolutely amazing. My friend had the Sonoma chicken entree, bread appetizer and a margarita. She says all her items were excellent too. Also because we were celebrating our birthdays, they gifted each of us with a bottle of their house seasoning! Only negatives were it was loud in there and it was pricey. $56 for mine and $42 for her, both before tip. I will say the serving size of ahi tuna was nice and I had enough to take home another meal. We have had a little vacation home in the area for several years, however never frequented this restaurant. A neighbor recently told us about it so we decided to try it out. I must say I wish I would've known about it before. The atmosphere is casual, yet high end and the service outstanding. I've come here a few times before. I usually bring my dad and step mom here when they come for a visit. We've always had great food and service and they are very accommodating if you come in with a baby to find a spot to sit. Some visits were better than others. When they are great they great. When it's not so great they bomb. Last time I brought my family and parents here we rarely saw our server so it was challenging to get our needs met. But Happy Hoir at the bar always brings good service for sure. The food is really fantastic and consistent with the exception of 1 out of our 5 visits when everything came out all wrong and improperly cooked. Menu eclectic. We thought food was satisfactory. Waiter was middle-aged man who spoke quite loudly. We all enjoyed our meals and conversations and ordered coffee and desserts. They don't even offer to push two tables together, which they had room to do. Wouldn't recommend if this is their idea of service. The food is ok, but why pay their prices for crappy service. My Husband and I tried this place for the vwey first time. We order for our appetizer alexander Valley flat bread and the house salad it was good ,but for me it lacked flavor maybe some added garlic would have made it a bit better tasting. Overall we didn't have any major problems but we definitely weren't blown away. The atmosphere is nice. No issues there. Our booth was nice and spacious. We had a res and even tho we were a bit early we were seated promptly. The hostesses were both friendly. The server was fine. She was efficient and courteous. My only issue there would be dropping the check without asking if we wanted anything else. Not a big deal though. We already had our dessert and coffee so it was highly unlikely we were going to order anything else. The food: We had the lobster bisque which we both found quite good but we both had a few small pieces of shell which was a little off putting. I would still recommend it though. The whipped burrata was a bit bland but a dash of S&P and it was fine. The bread wasn't cut very well so we had to tear it apart. When we tore it apart we ended up with mangled pieces that were hard to get the burrata on. Neither of us cared for the pesto that comes with it. The short rib arancini balls had good flavor but the short rib is just one small piece in the middle. Because the balls are far too large to eat all in one bite you kind of end up with one bite that has short rib and several that don't. Maybe shredding it and blending it into the risotto for a more even distribution would help. The wife has the lobster thermador special. She enjoyed it but said it was nothing to rave about. I had the filet medallions. They were cooked just right and the risotto that came was very good. But the filet desperately needed some salt and pepper. They also didn't have much of the blue cheese beurre blanc and which was disappointing. This may sound weird but I did not at all care for the plate/bowl thing it was served in. It's oddly shaped which made it difficult to place my knife on the edge. I had to balance it just so and it still slid into my dish several times. I finally found a way to place the knife with the point down on my steak and it sat fine. Not a big deal but a little irritating. I had the brussel sprouts on the side. They use very small sprouts so they were nice and sweet and tender but also suffered from a lack of salt. I did not taste the Thai chili at all. I would also recommend brining a spoon to serve them with. Because they are so small, using a fork was a bit more difficult than it needed to be and made getting the sprouts along with some outer leaves harder than it needed to be. Finally, we had the tiramisu and coffee for desert. The coffee is fine. The tiramisu was ok. Maybe a touch more sugar and we would have liked a bit more espresso flavor. Drinks: My wife had some kind of fruity cocktail. She said it was really sweet. I had a Woodford old fashioned. Ironically mine could have used just a touch more sweetness. They did have a pretty good bourbon selection for a smaller place. The wine list was reasonable with plenty of options and all the prices were fair. I had a cab I had never tried and it was quite tasty. The wife had a Riesling she said went well with the lobster. Overall it was fine. There were no major problems, it just left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. While there were several other entrees that looked really good, I think next time we'd pass and give somewhere else a shot. That being said, most of our issues could have been resolved with a bit more salt and seasoning is highly subjective so you may find it suits your tastes better than we did. Cheers read more

I'm so happy that this restaurant has appeared on the scene. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely. There's something on the menu for everyone and the service is stellar. The hubs and I enjoyed our meatball and polenta appetizer. You should order this tasty duo. The meatball is delicious and moist while the polenta is a creamy accompaniment. We ordered the Silverado Steak salad and the Choose Two (choice of 1/2 flatbread, soup, 1/2 salad). Everything was delicious and the steak was cooked perfectly. Let me begin by saying that every year while on vacation we have made it a point to eat at So Napa Grill. We always found the food, service, and ambiance to be elevated. This year we brought our daughter and son-in-law for the first time. Unfortunately our expectations did not match the reality on this visit. Food: On the positive side, my daughter and son-in-law enjoyed their meal but, I had requested my steak to be medium rare...somewhere along the way the medium part was lost. The steak was practically raw. My wife's dinner was on the cold side. Luckily our other family members were very pleased with their meals, so we didn't complain. Service: On past visits we were always highly impressed with the waitstaff and the attention to detail. They were friendly, efficient, and attentive. On this visit, we ordered an appetizer and before we had finished eating it the waitress brought our salads. No big deal except when we were done with the appetizer and salads, she didn't remove the empty plates until we asked. We also had to request water but she never returned to see if we needed refills. She did ask if we wanted more from the bar, but again walked away leaving empty dishes on the table. Some people would not be bothered by uneven service and, in some restaurants it might even be the norm. When I patronize a business that is upscale, with prices that reflect a higher level of service and food, I expect to have my expectations met. This is a brand new restaurant for Ormond and the Trail plaza. The owners have a place in New Symerna Beach for years and wanted to try one in Ormond. I am so glad they did. This location was the Ormond Steakhouse and the remodel was wonderful. Now very opened up and bright with big windows to slow natural light during the day. They also extended outdoor seating that the previous steakhouse did not have. The service was great. We were seated quickly but I can see on weekends you will want reservations. We both orders the house wines that were very good. I had an amazing steak medallions on a cheesy risotto. My wife had the salmon on cauliflower rice. Great first impression. read more

My husband and I have eaten dinner here several times and we've always had a great experience. First, the wine list has a nice mix of high end and more affordable wines with very reasonable markups. We've spent a lot of time in Napa and their wine list provides a good cross-section of the diverse varietals that can be found in the region. We've been impressed with their by-the-glass selections as well as the specials they run on bottles. The food is also consistently delicious. We typically start with a flat bread and a salad to share. My favorite is the house salad and the Santa Rosa flatbread. We've also had the scallops appetizer a couple of times - very delicious! The three-cheese Asiago bread is also a favorite and it comes out with a really cute presentation. For mains, the Bison Bolognese is my favorite. The portion is huge so be prepared to have leftovers the next day. My mom and sister both had the Sonoma Style Chicken and said it was yummy. I just want to start off by saying there is nothing wrong with this restaurant. The staff is all nice and the food I have eaten is good. My issue is that there is no actual Vegetarian entree in the menu. I know there's 1 regular margarita flatbread and some sides of vegetables and a few appetizers that are without any meat, but to not have any entree seems a bit ridiculous. There is every type of cuisine possible on the menu and this isn't a steakhouse, so to not have a pasta dish, a chefs choice cooked vegetables, or even a flat bread with vegetables on it, is something I feel needs to be changed. My family and I have been visiting Ormond beach for years and was told about this restaurant by a friend back home in Georgia as well as during our trip this week. We were on a girls trip at the condo and decided to give this little restaurant a try after reading numerous reviews on yelp. We made a reservation for four of us and we're seated promptly when we arrived. We were greeted by a server name Kent who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Kent was very attentive during our entire visit and we were even visited by Nick the GM at Ormond beach location. When I tell you every single thing we ordered was amazing, I am serious. We had decided to try a couple of appetizers as well as entrées just to try several things and share them with one another. To start we ordered the three cheese asiago bread, Korean barbecue ribs, and bacon wrapped scallops. All three of these were very good and I definitely say to try the Korean barbecue ribs that come over better fries or the bacon wrapped scallops if you're sharing and you want a unique experience with an appetizer. We ordered two sides, potatoes and Brussels and both were good. Entrées that we ordered consisted of the scallop and shrimp carbonara, cauliflower base flatbread pizza with shrimp, and we also ordered the beet soup which was a special of the day and we ordered the lobster bisque which is a menu item. The cauliflower crust on the flatbread was really good and we could not taste the difference at all. The lobster bisque was really really good and the beet soup was really good I was told by my friend. I'm not a huge beet person so. The only menu item that I would not give an absolute five star to and this is just based on the fact I have had this dish at many locations over the years and therefore was not my favorite and that was the carbonara. It was not bad at all but not the best I've had. Only one of us ordered a drink and it was their similar version to a Mojito and she did enjoy that. We read a lot of wine reviews but we did not order on this particular night. We will absolutely be going back on our future visits and matter of fact we have made a reservation for this evening for the five of us since one of us had opted out before. I will definitely be back to this restaurant and I definitely would recommend it to locals as well as people that are traveling and if you want a very nice dining experience. No room to walk between them, and impossible to carry on a conversation. Reminded me of a school lunchroom. We might go back on a warmer night and sit outside, although as we left people out there were smoking, so that would rule it out for us.
