    A Breakfast Platter :)

My favorite pastelillos come from Son de Cali bakery. My grandfather first introduced me to this place and their tasty pastelillos and I have since become a huge fan of their cheese one. They are herby, cheesy and never overdone. Like with all pastelillos, some are less filled than others, but they do an okay job of filling most of them well. Most of the staff here is very friendly and fast on their feet. I like that it seems to be family owned. I like sitting down and enjoying a coffee here once in a while, in the mornings it can get kind of full, but any other part of the day you can probably find a small table to sit at and read and relax over a coffee and pastry. There's no place around to sit for coffee that's as nice and cozy as Son de Cali. I also enjoy their guava pastry and Columbian coffee. This place is kind of a hole in the wall treasure. For the area it's a fantastic addition. The food is freshly made, the place is always clean, the crowd is friendly, the staff is friendly and the coffee is good. I encourage people to support this local business and keep it going strong. This place is one of my absolute favorite Bushwick spots.

best chorizo and chicharron! also I am totally hooked on their guava jam cheese pie. they need to hire another person in the morning. I just can't wait on the line of 20 people on the way to the L train.

To good yo not finish it :)

Fantastic empanadas. I have a sensitivity to corn and I can still eat theirs. Delicious. Neighborhood gem!

We came by the day before Mother's Day, so they had pre decorated Mother's Day cakes. You can also place an order. Service is quick and friendly. We initially planned on getting a Strawberry Shortcake, as that seemed to be the cake to get. However, we opted for the Cheesecake, because we were able to add fresh strawberries (and whipped cream) on top! I'm not a fan of whipped cream, so I avoided that, but everyone seemed to enjoy. It had a good creamy texture and was not too sweet. The strawberries were indeed fresh. The pound cake was soft and airy. The vanilla flavor comes through. I will have to try the Marbled version next time! Note: Cash Only! A regular customer ordered the tiramisu cake; said it was the best cake ever, so will have to try that next time!

A friend recommended it to me, and I've already ordered two birthday cakes from here. The tiramisu cake was absolutely delicious, honestly one of the best I've ever had. I didn't even know you could customize a tiramisu cake since it's usually served the traditional way, but they made it exactly how I wanted. As someone who loves tiramisu, this really stood out. I also ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was just as impressive. The buttercream was so good , light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it, and there wasn't a single slice left. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, he really takes the time to understand what you want and brings it to life perfectly. I've also tried their croissants, which are huge and delicious, and the hero bread is excellent too. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash.I'll definitely be ordering all my cakes from here moving forward!

Eaton Cafe is definitely a hidden gem in Queens! I almost don't want to share this amazing place…read morefor fear it will be crowded every time we go there now. Our dinner there tonight was perfect! We ordered chicken wings, french fries, and pork soup dumplings for our kids. For my husband and me, we enjoyed the pork combo, the crispy watercress salad and Batagor (fried fish cake, fried tofu, fried wontons and fried potato with peanut sauce on the side in case our kids wanted any). Our most memorable and refreshing dish was the Crispy Watercress Salad. Who knew watercress could be fried!?! lol We will definitely be ordering again next time as well as recommending to others. This dish was refreshing and light. Loved every bite! The pork combo was a combination of roast pig, sausage slices, fried slices of fish cake, etc. with rice and soup on the side. Easily the ideal lunch for one person or to share with someone! The Batagor was very fun to eat because it reminded me of fondue but with peanut sauce. I loved dipping the fried fish cake, fried tofu, fried wonton and fried potato in the yummy peanut sauce. This night was delicious and the perfect family dinner for us. With tax and 20% tip, total was about $145 and change. A little steep for family dinner but it was about right considering the raising cost of groceries. We considered it our New Year dinner. Eaton Cafe definitely gets two thumbs up from me and my Yummylicious Stamp of Approval! Happy New Year everyone!

The chicken egg noodles were slithery, dense, and had a plethora of elements; the fried wonton was crunchy while the ground chicken was fragrant and sweet.
