Upside Down Ahboong (Cookies n' Cream soft serve w/ a Nutella filled Taiyaki)
Angela N.

This spot is located inside the Ontario Mills mall. It's great to stop by if you are already shopping but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here since it's in a busy mall. Inside is quite small and there is no seating. I love getting their Upside Down Ahboong. It's their soft serve with a filled Taiyaki on top. Usually I always get the Ube flavored soft serve but this time I decided to try Cookies n' Cream with a Nutella filled Taiyaki. It was so creamy and delicious.

Haven't been to this location but wanted to get a little treat while shopping at Ontario. Got the Early grey which was such a unique flavor and I loved it. Everything is so clean and they are quick with the orders. I always love the fact that they change their flavors consistently.

So yummy it's a nice little sweet treat while shopping at the mall. The inside is just rubbed with Nutella it's not filled so don't expect a big filling. Service is fast they have a tablet so you can order yourself. Once it's ready they ask you if you want any toppings. No seating but they have this high table to use which is convenient not much room in there to sit anyway so the table is a good touch.

Vanilla soft serve with matcha

A cute little spot in Ontario Mills. I had the milk soft serve with matcha powder and it was delicious. It satisfied my sweet tooth after a long day of shopping. I've had the Ube Ahboong as well in the past and it's definitely one of my favorites. The service was friendly and welcoming. There was a bit of a line when I went but it moved fast.

This dude behind the counter closed up shop on us after making us wait for him. Do better, somisomi worker.
Francis F.

Worker: "Hi, I'll be right with you in a few minutes." We wait patiently. Worker returns: "Sorry, we close in 3 minutes, and it takes about 5 minutes to make." ...make this make sense, disappointing somisomi guy.

MUCH BETTER SERVICE! Shoutout to Kevin for his diligence and customer service skills. I HIGHLY recommend the Upside Down Ahboong, mine consisted of a Nutella Taiyaki (fish pastry) on top and coffee soft serve. I was craving a sweet treat and this one definitely made my day! I love the pancake-esque little fish, they're freshly baked and ooey-gooey. I arrived on a busy Saturday afternoon, the staff were working it! I got my Ahboong first, and waited 20 mins for the new batch of Taiyaki to be done. I enjoyed my soft serve inside the shop while waiting for the rest of my order. Overall, people were civil and calm. The food and experience were great!

Waiting are for your order.

Delicious taiyaki and perfectly blended ice cream, good service, pleasant workers and ambiance is beautiful. The store is clean.

Ube

I tried the milk and ube flavor this time and it was really good. The Taiyaki also tasted great, we got the limited time mint Oreo flavor and a red bean flavor. The service was really nice too.

The ice cream was incredibly delicious . The employees were friendly and patient with us. The place is clean and neat and is a great place to eat ice cream with friends and family.

Upside down ahboong with ube and pink guava swirl

After walking around the mall and it was way too warm in there, Somisomi caught my eye and I had to try it. The line was busy and wrapped around a corner but the wait wasn't too bad, we waited about 10 minutes to reach the self-order kiosk. There is no seating but there are a couple tables to stand next to and eat on. My husband and I both shared a matcha and strawberry swirl in a cup and also an upside down ahboong with ube and pink guava swirl. The upside down ahboong came with taiyaki and we chose matcha custard for the filling. It was so good and the taiyaki was warm and fluffy! The soft served ice cream flavors were unbelievably decadent but subtle. My favorites were the pink guava, ube, and strawberry. I did like the matcha but it overpowered the strawberry and the two flavors didn't fully work together as a swirl. The soft serve was creamy and airy. You could also get toppings as they several sweet toppings such as Oreos, fruity pebbles, etc. available. Will definitely have to get this sweet treat again whenever I'm at the mall again!

SomiSomi is a fun spot for dessert. I tried the ube and matcha taiyaki with soft serve, and both were delicious and perfectly creamy.

Back in the day we use to have what were called Ice Cream Parlors. Big restaurant size places where…read moreyou could go and get your fill of all kinds of ice cream concoctions. Banana Splits, Sundaes and shakes. Farrell's comes to mind for you old timers. Now that we are all so much more health conscious these places have gone the route of the travel agent. My grandkids wanted Fro Yo to which I said Fro No! We are getting real ice cream. I tracked down Nobibi in Eastvale. Lots of variety of ice cream dishes and apparently you can get milk ice cream and some other kind. I zoned out so I don't know what the other type is and I don't care to know. My granddaughter wanted the Strawberry Blush. Lucky for me she is a tiny 6 year old girl so I got to eat the majority of the Strawberry Blush. It was delicious. It had Poke sticks, strawberry slices, crunchy strawberry things and Frosted Flakes which was a nice touch. It was awesome. Not quite the Farrell's experience of the 70's but a pleasant outing for real ice cream nonetheless. Definitely Recommended

Unfortunately, the service set a negative tone right from the start. As for the ice cream, it's priced as a premium product, but honestly, there wasn't anything particularly special about it. For the cost, I expected a much better overall experience and higher-quality product.

Let me tell you--this place has some of the best boba I've had in a long time. The shop was exceptionally clean, the staff was extremely friendly, and the owner was amazing. It was known for cheap, quality drinks back then, and I find myself still looking for that nostalgic quality. Yet, when I go now, I think I find more disappointment and I should learn to let it go. I've been here twice and both times was after a meal at La Bufadora next door. Parking is difficult in the front of the facility, unless you intend to be here for less than 20 minutes; there is a designated 20 minute parking area. When ordering here, I don't usually order at the register since the baristas are always busy. They don't acknowledge when guests come in, so I use the kiosk to the left to make my purchase. My phone number doesn't work for the rewards and I could never figure out how to sign up. I ordered my usual milk tea with boba. This time, I put less ice since it was chilly outside and I even had on a cardigan. When my drink came, I was fairly disappointed. With less ice, came less to drink. My drink wasn't filled up... I guess I understand, but at the same time, it was a bit of a rip off especially if I'm paying $6.50 for it. The milk tea was not sweet although it was 100% sweet and the boba was inconsistently different sizes. With a second visit and the same lack of taste, I don't think I'll be back. I'm paying the same price as another boba shop that would give me more toppings and fill up my cup. I'd rather drive towards Eastvale for boba instead.

It was so phenomenal that we ended up coming back twice! Visit 1: I ordered their most popular item--the Thai Tea Soft Serve with honey boba (9oz). Hands down, this is the best Thai tea soft serve I have ever tasted in California. The flavor is incredibly potent, rich, and stays completely true to a perfect soft serve texture. I ate it so fast I didn't even get a photo! My boyfriend got the same thing and added Oreo crumbs, which was a huge hit. Visit 2: I decided to explore the menu and tried the "Fire Dragon"--a black milk tea topped with crème brûlée and honey boba. It was delicious, though to make the tea more rich I recommend brewing the tea a bit longer to give that black tea flavor an extra punch against the rich cream. My little brother ordered the Thai tea soft serve with boba and Oreo crumbs (16oz) and his instant verdict was: "When can we come back?" The service both times was exceptionally kind, informative, fast, and welcoming. Thank you for always smiling and serving up the absolute best Thai tea in the Inland Empire!
