I was very excited to give Tetsu a try, giving I been wanting to try it for so long, but man was it disappointing. The texture of the cheesecake is very enjoyable, but it is not tasty at all. I enjoyed the cookies more then I did the cheesecake, which I would say give a try.
Super friendly service from the gal that let us sample the mango & Basque cheesecake. I went with the intention to buy the Ube. So that's what we ended up bringing home. Really delicious cake. So light & airy. The Basque was much more dense but also very good. We'll be back when in the neighborhood to try some of the cheese tarts next time.
I was so excited to see this place had opened in this plaza so close to my work. We went to lunch at a restaurant in the same plaza and I noticed it. I decided to stop by before headed back to work. They have plenty of parking nearby in the plaza. Once you walk in it is very welcoming and they have a TV showing the menus and they have some for display and samples. This is a family friendly establishment without any seating area so it is a takeout. I have tried multiple flavours of cakes and I have loved every single one of them. My favourite is the basque cake. They now also offer a frequent customer card. Their cheesecakes are different than the traditional American cheesecakes. They are fluffier not a sweet and a lighter feeling.
Super surprised to find an Uncle Tetsu in this neck of the woods. If you've never had Japanese cheesecake, imagine regular cheesecake went on a theraputic vacation, let go of all its baggage, and came back as a fluffy little cloud. Light, airy, gently sweet, and melts in your mouth!!! We went in strong with 1 regular and 1 ube (no regrets), plus a few tarts for "the road" that somehow didn't make it very far. Everything was crazy good. Yeah, it's a bit on the pricey side, but if I'm paying extra for dessert that makes me this happy, I'm not mad about it at all!!
Updated Version: 5 stars because their chocolate basque cheesecake is one of the BEST chocolate desserts I've ever had! For me it's better than a traditional American cheesecake and better than chocolate cake. The texture and flavor is simply amazing. And their Japanese cheesecakes are so fluffy and light. There's simply no comparisons that I can make at the moment. So yes, this is a great dessert spot for us moderate-sugared lovers!

There was no line and they box up & bag your items right away after you order.
Uncle tetsu is always a treat! Their cheesecakes are so good, but I do like their burnt cakes more. This time I ordered the pandan coconut cake. It had strong flavors and very fluffy, as always. Almost like an angel food cake. Their cheese tarts are also delicious. I would say I prefer the tarts more than the cheesecakes. All flavors are so good ! Their latest batch did seem like it was a tad bit sweeter than before. Ube flavor is probably my fav but green tea and chocolate is good too! Of course can't go wrong with original as well. They're always very friendly. They're very good at upselling, that's how they get me but I happily buy more from them!

We took home the original cheesecake, cookies and cream , coconut panda flavors. It was so good . Self serve. No tables inside but the patio was available. Be back .
So we stopped by Uncle Tetsu after some Korean BBQ at 356 and decided to get the Ube Cheesecake. There was no line when we walked in and got the cheesecake right away. Ube was definitely a good call and will be back for more cheesecakes in thw future!
I have been back to this Uncle Tetsu a few times now, but didn't think to do an updated review until now. They currently have one of its specialty flavors... Mango Cheesecake. It's described as melt-in-your-mouth soft and subtly sweet. It is available for a limited time, along with other seasonal flavors like Matcha Cheesetart and Mango Basque Cake. We were celebrating my youngest daughter's HS graduation and it happened to be on Father's Day 2025. I tried a free sample of the Mango Cheesecake. It did melt in my mouth maybe a little too much and it wasn't too sweet which I like. Unfortunately, I didn't care for it because it didn't have the strong mango flavor I was looking for. I do love mangos! Anyway, I ended up buying 3 Original Cheesecakes to give to my Mom and two younger brothers and 1 Mango Basque Cake to be eaten at the lunch. Mango Basque Cake was surprisingly very good. It was slightly denser in texture compared to their other cheesecakes. I got a little bit more mango flavor, but not too much more though. Funny, when I first saw it, it looked very tiny. I was like... are we going to have enough for 11 people? LOL I had to cut them in bite size for sure. Luckily, it all worked out. Everyone got one small intimate slice! I returned here in the evening on the same day because I promised my youngest daughter I would get 1 Original Cheesecake for home. Got one of them plus one Original Cheese Tart (first time trying it)... crust was very buttery + flaky and cheese mousse filling was exceptionally creamy... it was delish! I'll be getting more of them in the different flavors in the very near future LOL. Funny, when my daughter first saw the Original Cheesecake, she noticed it was missing the Uncle Tetsu print. What happened??? Did the imprint machine went out of commission that day? Anyway, it didn't matter. Most importantly, the cheesecake was in its entirety and now it's all gone! LOL The morning staff was okay (not too smiley though), but the evening staff was better (got more smiles... thank you young man!). Service was quick as it usually is. Btw, they are cashless so bring a credit card or gift card and not cash! This location is the closest to my home so it'll be the one I will frequently visit when it's time for the yummy and delicious Japanese Original Cheesecake. Thank you Uncle Tetsu for sharing your amazing semi-sweet treats!
I have seen many pictures of the Japanese cheesecakes with the cute logo branded on top of each serving. But had not tasted one until today. There isn't a location close to me, so when I came to this shopping center for lunch at another restaurant, I was happy to see my good old Uncle Tetsu (*:*) was here. I bought a four-pack of mini cheesecakes for the family. They are so creamy and delicious, a real treat. I was able to sample some cake and cookies because it was my friends birthday and she shared with the group. The seasonal flavor of the month was Cherry Blossom. The regular flavors on the daily menu are: Original, Uber, Strawberry, Cookies and Cream, and Pandan Coconut, more options are available. I'm now a fan and will return to try more items on the menu. Surprise your family, friends or co-workers with a treat and don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!!
Nothing compares to Uncle Tetsu! When I knew that I was going to be at the nearby Food Hall, I was excited that I could drop by after for my favorite Japananese cheesecake! The service is sufficient. She answered all my questions. There was no one else in the store on a Saturday afternoon. I was served quickly. My all time favorite is the Pandan coconut cheesecake. Wow it is so moist and fluffy. The pandan is the star of the show! I got the ube cookie. It was different and dry. Not my favorite. I got my friend the cherry blossom cheesecake. It is their seasonal item. They had samples of it. The mini cake was sweetly decorated with a flower. The cake itself was moist and fluffy. I didn't taste the cherry in it too much but it was certainly good! I love the packaging and the pretty bag that comes with it.

Absolutely delicious. It was my 2nd time there and it was just as enjoyable as the first time. They have several flavors of cheese tarts so far I've only tried the original; I'll definitely switch it up next time. It is worth a next time! read more

We tried this place after we went to tacos, los cholos, and it was really good. We got the coconut mini cheesecake. We all enjoyed it. It was more like a little sample for us to see if we actually like the texture. I would like to go back and try different ones. We liked the texture and the density. The service was fine and the place was empty when we got there so service was prompt and the place looked clean. read more

I love coming here whenever we are in town! The menu is simple and everything is delicious. I love getting the cheesecakes; they're all just melt in your mouth amazing! They're like pillows of deliciousness. The matcha cheese tart was a great mix of sweet and tart. Perfectly balanced. The Ube crinkle cookies are also a yummy little treat. They're so soft and full of Ube flavor! It's hard not to buy everything you see, they all look adorable and tasty! They make it easy and someone is immediately ready to help when you enter. read more
I heard a lot of great things about this place so we had to try it out. Just so people can know, they fo have mini cheesecakes available so you won't have to indulge on a large cheesecake. We ordered the strawberry mini and the original mini. The mini costs $7. Overall, they taste delicious. They were fluffy and moist and had a light tartness in them. The ladies in the back were super helpful and they even let us taste some samples. There's not much of a seating area inside so definitely order your things to take home or you can just enjoy them on the tables outside. My only issue was that it was a bit pricey for the amount you get. However, this place is still worth visiting. read more

The best thing about Uncle Tetsu cakes is that they can be great presents, with the cute jiggles and the very light sweetness. I came in December, so they had a smores seasonal cheesecake. I was going to just get the regular strawberry one, but once I saw the seasonal smores, I had to get two of those instead. The service is super quick since they're already premade, and we saw some samples of the smores too. With one bite, I knew it was it. I brought it into work and for my family and they loved it. The cheesecakes are super fluffy and the packaging was the cutest for their winter packs. read more

A great choice for Japanese cheesecake. Light and airy, fluffy with a little jiggle. Seasonal flavors are so fitting with their choices of combinations. I really enjoy their cheese tarts. It's one of my favorites. The thin tart crust is always nice and crisp, no soggy bottoms or leakage. The great British baking show would give a hand shake for these. Ube of course, original and strawberry were so delectable! Also enjoyed the ube cookie it had a nice softness sort of brownie texture. So good!! Service is welcoming and helpful. I keep hearing the talks about Uncle Testsu; therefore, I gave it a try. Wow, it was a great experience. I think my favorite was the cheese tart flavors. The ube cheese tart was fire! The service was fairly quick the ambiance was nice and you were able to see how they make it which was pretty cool. read more

I've never tried Uncle Tetsu before, even though they've been open at the Arcadia Mall for a while. I decided to surprise my boyfriend with this pandan coconut cake for his birthday since he loves pandan plus it was a good excuse for me to finally try it too! The cake was super fluffy but a bit too sweet for us. We couldn't eat more than two slices! Ordering online was easy and pickup was a breeze. Plenty of parking here, which I prefer over dealing with Arcadia Mall. However I do wish they provided a birthday candle since most bakeries include one. Service was very welcoming, and I was in and out in seconds. Nice spot for a quick and easy pickup! read more

If you're looking for something different to put on your dessert table or to gift to a friend, Uncle Tetsu's fluffy Japanese cheesecakes is a great treat. It comes in a variety of flavors and is affordable. I absolutely love the delicate texture. Unlike the American cheesecakes that are dense and creamy, Japanese cheesecakes are super light and fluffy, and the flavors are subtle. They have a slight jiggle to them and each cake comes with Uncle Tetsu branded on top of the cake. They also have seasonal stamps, including birthday branding when placing a pre-order. The cakes only come in one size but they also offer cheese tarts. I have only tried their Original Cheese Tart and the flavor was good; however, the filling wasn't set solid. I'm not sure if that's how they usually are but I've only ordered it once. I've enjoyed the service from the staff here and they are always super friendly. They were very helpful during my first visit. And the space is very clean - as it should be! They also have a stamp card where you get rewarded a free cheesecake after x-amount of cheesecakes purchased. I've brought these as gifts when visiting friends or family, and they were always a hit! Anytime I'm in the area, I try to come here and purchase at least a cake. I love the Coffee flavor the best but it's only available as a seasonal item. My next favorite is Ube, which is available year-round. It's just so good! And I think it looks the most attractive. I also enjoyed the Strawberry and Oreo cakes. I have yet to try seasonal flavors like Yuzu and Pandan Coconut. Overall, Uncle Tetsu cheesecakes make great gifts. I always think the best gifts are yummy treats, and these are perfect for Nurses Week or Teachers Week - or for just any day of the week! read more

Located in the 99 ranch market plaza in Eastvale. Parking is abundant and easy to get to. I've only ever been to the Uncle Tetsu at the Santa Anita Westfield mall (Arcadia) and it's always busy there plus finding parking is usually challenging. I noticed there was a seasonal Cherry Blossom flavor so ofc I had to try it. Luckily they had it out (covered) for samples. I couldn't really taste a difference in this seasonal cheesecake. It had pretty flowers baked onto it, a pink hue to the cake and cutest packaging. lol I think I really wanted the bag more than the cake. I was promptly started assisted the moment I stepped into the store, it was not busy for a late Saturday afternoon. The store looked well kept and clean. Didn't realize it was so close to me so I'll be coming back for more in the near future! read more

I had to try a little bit of everything. The treats were very fresh and light with a bunch of deliciousness! Service was great. The only negative thing I have is the to go boxes, ugh I couldn't get them to stay closed once I opened them. Other than that everything was great! Will be back. Had to save room for this! I have never tried it before and was super excited that there is a location nearby my friend's house. Store is super cute and welcoming. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I couldn't decide so I ended up with Ube which was so good!! Nicely flavored and light. I could have eaten the whole cake by myself lol without feeling guilty but I didn't. I cannot wait to go back and get the other flavors, for $13 this was definitely delicious and worth every bite. I made it just in time before closing! I love me some Uncle Tetsu and didn't know about this location. As I was driving up to a Yelp event, I saw UT and my eyes lit up, lol. I parked right next to it so I could get my fix. I ended up going to the event first and then left right before 8 to get my yummies from here. They close at 8, so I was hoping I would make it. I was the last customer of the day, and everything was pretty much put away, but the lady was nice and had the cheesecakes ready to go. She bagged them up, and I paid for my goodies. Great in and out experience as with any Uncle Tetsu I have been to. This one is about 3 times the size of the one in San Diego. They don't have tables, though, so it really is just a grab-and-go kinda place. Love these Japanese cheesecakes and now I know where to go when I get the itch! I'll be back in a few weeks! read more

I'm like so late to this party but that's because the line was always so long! Finally though this was worth the wait and now I know why fellow foodies of mine waited a hot minute. So let me start by writing O to the M to the G! A touch of sweet and perfectly airy and they weren't lying about that! A melt in your mouth combination of sweetness with a fluffy and bouncy texture in every bite just like my grandmother's pound cake. Yeah I know it's probably not the perfect example but that's what it reminded me of. So now I'm finally in the know and I can't wait to try out their Ube flavored cheesecake. The presence of the store was very clean in the inside and outside. I've been to many Uncle Tetsu in Canada, but this was the first location in the states. There were a lot more flavor selections including; cherry blossom, ube, pandan, matcha, yuzu, strawberry, and coffee. The best part was they offered samples! The day I went in they were sampling the Pandan Cheesecake, and it tasted better than my original thought of it. Every cake sold should a stamp of Uncle Tetsu on it. Unfortunately, the cakes we ordered neither of them had Uncle Tetsu on them. Overall, the quality and taste of the cakes were similar to what I had outside of the states. read more

It's still good. Yes, it should be refrigerated if u do not plan to have it later of the day, but make sure it is cold or else will be spoiled.
