I've been a long time fan of Someburros; I grew up in Chandler eating it often. Since I moved to Arcadia, North Scottsdale or Tempe locations have been the closest for many years (neither of which are very close) -- needless to say I was VERY excited when this location opened! I went the first weekend they opened and it took an exceptionally long time to get our food. I went back today through the drive-thru, and the process was also quite slow. In both cases, it seemed like a lot of people were standing behind the counter not doing much. Also in both cases, the customer service interaction was very awkward. That said, I realize they could still be training since this location is quite new. The food is delicious! The quality is there and it's a little more expensive than your typical fast casual Mexican food, but for good reason. I'm still a fan and will definitely be back. read more

I went in with my family around 6 on a Thursday and it wasn't too crowded. I ordered our food and couldn't believe it took half an hour to prepare. What I saw was that all the food being prepared was for takeout. Of five girls preparing orders only one was working on a dine in. At the very least you need to let people know that they are in line behind a hoard of orders. I have two little kids and would not have chosen to eat there had I known about the wait and will not be going back. The food was good and the staff polite so I'm still giving 3 stars. read more

The restaurant is safe, clean and the staff are always incredibly helpful and generous. My all time favourite is the machada(?) burrito, so saucy, with cheese, avocado, and creamy beans. My favourite part about this place is that their food doesn't leave you feeling greasy or sick like fast food (or the Bertos) places do! Had to come try this new spot that just opened up in uptown in Phoenix!! I've always heard of this spot but never tried it until today thanks to the new central location! It's not really a restaurant but more of a quick fast food Mexican food spot! When dining in, you walk up to counter to order and they'll bring the food to your table. Self serving drinks in the dining area as well with various options from coke products to teas and even horchata or fresh lemonade.! As for food I ordered the Pollo Fundido which was pretty dam delicious. The girl at the front register recommended to add extra cream cheese but I was satisfied with the amount given with order. It came with a side of rice which tasted pretty good & had a decent flavor. I'm assuming with dine in they also gave us a small tray of chips with salsa which is a nice plus!! You gotta always have some chips And salsa when eating Mexican food! They gave us mild and hot sauce which I didn't notice that much of a difference compared to spicy-ness. But still decent tasting ! My friend had the burracho burro which she said was okay. Good enough for Her to go back she said. She also ordered the red beef tamale which she liked. Masa was very moist but she hated the enchilada sauce it was smothered in. Too saucy for her liking. Overall, our experience was pretty great and will definitely be back to try other items off the menu! We have been long-time patrons of Someburros. Love the delicious crispy tacos, salsa and red and green chili. We've used them to cater a number of casual parties over the years with great success. However, several issues have occurred since their rapid expansion: 1. The service is waning. I waited more than 30 minutes in store recently when I ordered 6 breakfast burritos to go and they were sitting up on the counter until I had to ask for them. They staff in the new Phoenix location truly seems lost about orders, what food they're bringing out, who's on first, etc. It's a shame because that's always been a big part of their brand - delivering high quality food and GREAT service. 2. The salsa and food is starting to drop in quality. We love their hot salsa but it shouldn't be JUST hot without flavor. We ordered a tray of tacos for a party and they were so stale they were inedible. Someburros, take a pause from expanding and fix the issues before your brand is completely lost. read more

We eat here a couple times a week. Just so happens that husband grabbed lunch here yesterday and I grabbed dinner today. Both times there were bean burritos. Your beans are great, surely you know that, but both times the bean burritos were smaller and thinner than normal. Either the regular 'bean burrito chef' is out or your bean 'cucharón' was swapped to a smaller one. In any case, we love the deliciousness of your frijoles so please be consistent and fill the bean burritos as you normally do. A full burrito not a sad looking one. You're still charging the same price so why not?! read more

Me and my family have been coming to someburros for at least 6 years, and unfortunately i will not be coming back again. I was denied service by only having a $100 bill to use. My bill was $25 and it was 30 minutes until close. And the lady at the register claimed that the register did not have change for me. How does a business not have $75 in the register? Especially when you are about to close. Im sure a restaurant has change and if not, thats irresponsible. Since Nana Mary and Nana Victoria have been laid to rest, I never had authentic Mexican food again, UNTIL I discovered Some Burro. SUCH GOOD FOOD!! Nothing drips of grease, unlike Filibertos, ect. Take my word for it. If you're getting an order to go DO NOT pay in cash. When they don't give you half your order your screwed. A week ago Friday I ordered a number 6 dinner and a Rod burro. I got home and found no burro. I called and the person I talked to when he asked how I pay and said cash his voice suddenly changed and not for the better. He offered me a burro and a $20 gift card of I come in. I live in North Phoenix and was on my way home from the airport. I don't get to the Camelback Road area often.  He then offered me a digital gift card. My wife is sick and I try not to be gone more then an hour. So I generally go close by for takeout. Last Sunday 48 hours after talking to him I started to write a similar review when I got a call from the shift supervisor she said they don't do digital gift cards anymore. But someone could deliver a gift card to my house. I said sure. A little later she called back and said the general manager said they would mail it  I don't want a gift card all I want in my $11 dollars back or a burro. Stick a $10 bill in an envelope and I'd be happy. It's been a week and no gift card, no nothing. Still no burro and still out $11. I mean if you're going to screw me the least you can do is offer me a kiss. Looking on line I am pretty much equal distance to this store or the North Scottsdale store, still quite a drive for one burro.  I probably won't be stopping by any Some Burros anytime soon because of this customer service. Called to place a pick up order and was hung up on twice. When an employee answered on the third call, I asked if I could place a pick up order and she replied with "our drive thru if fully functional" so I asked if it was okay if I ordered over the phone since my partner was picking up the food and was about 10 minutes away. We have a new born and didn't want to risk them crying while sitting in the drive thru. Let me start by saying that the food is AMAZING- they have the best fundido style chimis and you can add it to nearly everything. It is consistently good, and the reason I continue to go, and will keep doing so. My issue is the experience, mistakes with orders, and wait times. Today, three different people came to the window to ask my fiancé's name before getting our food. We place our orders online and pick up through drive thru. We have never received our order within the time frame expected. The last time we were there, we were the only car waiting and still had a 15 minute wait time (after arriving around 15 minutes after order, which is when it was expected). Now, the orders: The first time we tried this place I ordered the mini chimis and only received two. The last time we went, I had two bean chimis and one beef (from my fiancé's order) while his had my missing bean chimi. Today, one of my three chimis again was beef, and I almost ate it (I am a vegetarian), and none of the other orders had my missing chimi. The food is great, always is, but the experience here just really isn't good, and I have never had everything correct in my orders. read more

They really refused to serve any more alcohol to our group of 30 people that were all over 21 & came to a birthday that we even had catered and spent over $600 there was about 14 margaritas out and they said there was too many alcoholic beverages out! My only complaint is that there are none close to me and the new location opened in Goodyear. Glendale has tons of great Mexican food already, but they could shake up the market a bit. The food is good. If you are looking for authentic mexican burros, this is not it. It an americanized version of burros, but they are still very yummy. The place is clean and it has a good ambiance. the drink selection is good, although the aguas seem to be more of a powder mix than natural but are okay to drink. read more

Terrible customer service. Things are very disorganized behind the counter and we end up waiting twice as long as we are told. Last time we went in for take out, we were told our food wasn't ready. We were sitting around waiting and finally went to check on it. The food had been sitting out ready for who knows how long and the cashier was not apologetic. I'm very sad to give such a low rating because lets face it, their food is fabulous! The problem is operational, I work near the Phoenix location and we often appoint someone to pick up an order for the team. EVERY EVERY EVERY time you call to place an order your put on hold for at least 10 minutes ugh! Then when you pick up order often times the line is 20 minutes long. I don't understand why they don't have a better process like most other places we order from especially during COVID. Unfortunately, there is also way too many mistakes on orders. Lastly, its a bit frustrating when you order inside your given complementary chips that are fantastic yet when you go through the drive through you are forced to buy a bag of chips which are always several days old stale. I usually LOVE this place, their manager is amazing and runs a tight ship the times I've seen her working. However tonight was a different story. First off, we waited an excessively long time for food when there was no one dinning in house or in line and what seemingly looked like only 1 or 2 phone orders. As we waited I saw 1 of the 2 young girls working the front counter using a set of tongs to scratch food off that was stuck to the counter and to the silver shelf where the line cooks place the food. I thought okay whatever no one else is in here and she's cleaning the counter tops and maybe that's how they do it. Then she pulls up her pants by the belt loops with her food handling gloves and then jumps on to the counter onto her knees to continue wiping the silver shelf surface and let the scrap foods fall straight to the counter where the food orders were being bagged. She stayed up there for a few good minutes. When she finally got off of the counter she did not change her gloves or spray and wipe the counters down from where her knees and legs were sitting while she wiped the surfaces. The second counter girls was touching all different parts of her pants pulling them up, touching the phones, placing food orders in the bags etc. All with the same gloves on. Meanwhile we are watching these health code violations unfold right before our eyes we are also just watching these two girls and the young make line cook laugh and good off and joke around. They gave use one of the burritos that we order and told us the rest of our food was coming up. We waited about 10mins after that burrito was given to us and the rest of the food still wasn't ready. The two girls continue look back over at us while we wait and continue to just laugh and goof around. Finally they begin to bag what seems to be our food as the line cook throws food orders onto the silver shelf and they almost slide off the receiving end. The one girl bagging our food puts the final plate in the bag to only take it out throw it back to the line cook in the silver shelf laughing and telling him it's wrong. We wait another 10-12minutes for them to get a bean tostada made. At this point we are just frustrated with their inability to tell us they're sorry or that they apologize for the long wait. Instead they just continue to make eye contact and just continue to laugh and mess around. We eventually get our food only after the initial burrito that was given to us become Luke warm after waiting for so long. They never apologized for anything, didn't provide utensils, and only gave 2 napkins. We asked for more napkins and utensils and they seemed bothered by the ask. I still had to go back and ask for knives only for the to say we don't have knives (this I get, you run out of things or shipment doesn't come in, but when half the order is food the requires a knife you would think it would tell the customers in advance sorry we are all out of knives right now). And a few of the plates were made incorrectly but at this point we were over it and just left. All while there was a dirty table that needed to be bussed the entire time we were there that was still left dirty when we left. I really hope that these 3 individuals are spoken to about their behavior and their lack of professionalism because had the health department been there I can guarantee this place would have been cited. read more

Well, I was looking forward to trying them out and I am disappinted. I ordered the Pollo Asado Burro and it was bland and the chicken was hard and over cooked. No Bueno. I usually check Yelp reviews before going somewhere and didn't this time. Also, they mention they have a drive thru however it's for phone and app order pick up. It's not actual drive thru.
