LOVELY service, remarkable bar food, and good drinks. A group of 6 of us strolled in tonight for dinner while in town for a conference. We were seated immediately and served promptly. Our server was attentive without hovering and had our satisfaction as her primary focus. We all had something different, and rather than run each one down, I'll simply say that we were all happy enough to talk about our individual meals later in the evening. Love this place! I usually make sure to stop by Some Random Bar when I'm in Seattle. Their crab nachos are to die for (not literally, of course). They are fresh and delicious! They also have great mixed drinks. The service is typically spot-on. However, there is one server that I don't care much for. Perhaps he lives by the "Seattle Chill." I've been here a handful of times and only had one experience of mediocre service. I'd like to think I'm a pretty relaxed, low maintenance patron, so keep your attitude away from me! Otherwise, time your stop here wisely. Seats can be a little limited downstairs. But if you come in right before they open up the upstairs seating, you'll be sure to find some space there. It is a little dark and cramped, but it can be a little quieter than downstairs. The place can get pretty loud. read more

Came here in the evening on Monday, and it had a great atmosphere. I got It's Fuckin Summer (white sangria), and it was very good. Loved the strawberries at the end. My friends and I got the crab nachos to share, and it was flavorful and fun to eat. The chips had a nice texture too. I got the pork belly sliders to share with my friend who got the chicken wings. The pork belly sliders had a nice crunch on the outside of the pork belly, and it wasn't too fatty in my opinion. The slaw was good too. I thought the chicken wings were good. The meat just fell off the bone when you bit into them, and they had a very flavorful sauce on the outside. Spicy and sweet. It could've had a bit more of a chew to it, but otherwise it was fine. This place is a great place if you want some tasty drinks, craft beers, lively yet chill atmosphere and good service. The only downside for me and the reason for the 3 star rating is their food. I came here on a Sunday night for late night drinks and food with my boyfriend. I ordered their mule drink which I thought was perfectly made. I loved the ginger beer taste and the copper cup they provided to keep the drink cold. On to the food - not sure if it was an off day or something but the food was kind of lackluster. We ordered their wings and their brisket sandwich. The meat on the wings fell off the bone and everything but it was dry and the texture seemed off. It felt like I was eating frozen wings. The brisket sandwich itself was pretty good. I would give them that, but the sweet potato fries were not crunchy or soft. The texture tasted tasted similar to microwaved fries where it was more chewy than you expect. The server was beyond friendly and very attentive. I did enjoy the experience and the atmosphere here. Came to SRB on a Friday night with my boyfriend around 7pm... and it was busy! However, the waitress who welcomed us was super friendly and despite having to wait 10-15 mins for a seat, she still offered to take our drink orders while we waited standing in line. The environment and décor was exactly as people have commented on and taken photos of; it was still decorated for Halloween at the end of Oct which was cute. We walked here through Belltown; however there's lot of street parking for those looking to drive. There's not a lot in the area other than places to eat. After sitting upstairs, the waitress came by with our pre-ordered drinks and then took our food order. We got the pull apart bread, the chicken wings and the beef brisket sandwich; everything to share! I got the Painkiller cocktail and other than the cheaper price ($10 is cheap for a cocktail in Seattle I guess...), it's delicious and exactly what it sounds like! Very Mexican with its pina colada flavors. The pull apart bread came out very unexpected... I thought it'd be more like monkey-bread but it was crispy and buttery like a croissant and rolled up. It was probably my favorite thing we ordered. The chicken wings were okay - a bit overhyped by Yelp reviews; I thought it was too saucey and too fried but not terrible, just okay. The sandwich was delicious! With the cheese and the bread was buttery. I thought it was just too heavy and after all the other dishes, it was too much. I would definitely stick to sharing this again next time. We spent just under $80 excluding tips and tax and I thought it was a good well-spent dinner. Definitely great vibes and the wait staff were amazing. Loved the cocktails! I think the only reason I removed the star was because the food was expensive and makes up for the cheap drinks and it was at best just average. Food: I have had this place twice now and I can tell you those crab nachos are amazing! My only wish is that the spicy sauce that they provide would give a better kick! The mixture of the entire sauce, cheese, guac, lemon sour cream is just out of this world good! Price: $18 for crab nachos is fair to me! I enjoyed the meal, you get an extremely large portion that will make people around you go "Wow!" Certainly a large amount of crab to go on top of those lovely crisp nachos! Service: This would be my one complaint. I wanted for almost 35 minutes for something that I believe is classified as an appetizer. That seems like a rather long wait for something this good. That's probably a huge hook for them to attract customers and hey it works! The drinks here are unique and the bartenders were attentive. The food was equally fantastic. This place doesn't just serve your basic bar food, it's bar food is great!. We got this pull apart garlic bread which is like this flakey croissant smothered in a light butter that is packed full of garlicy goodness. It comes with this cute dollop of fresh mozzarella that combined with a pull of the bread, becomes a divine bundle of flavor that makes you immediately reach for the next pull. Stopped by on a husky game day- wasn't too crowded! They have several tv's and have a note under each tv that shows which games are going to be on. Note that the tv's have no sound- they play music instead. Our waitress was friendly and the whole bar has such a welcoming environment. I ordered the impossible burger, which was great and came with lots of fries. My friend had the painted hills burger, which she liked. My first experience was a bummer. It was a busy Friday night and we were just hoping to grab a beer and feel out this bar for a future visit. However, apparently the patrons that are waiting for a table are not allowed to go to the bar to order a beer while they wait (or at least that's what the bartender told us). The line was long, we were thirsty, so, we left. We came back another time and this time there wasn't a wait. We got a table right away. They had a solid Cloudburst beer on tap, but for $9/pint. Considering I could throw a stone and hit Cloudburst from the restaurant (where beer is $6) this seemed a bit too high. Regardless, the beer offerings fit their "no crap on tap" mantra. My wife and I shared a slow roasted brisket sandwich. It was a bit on the greasy side but in a delicious, glutinous way (not just greasy, lots of developed flavors too). I guess you can think of Some Random Bar as a bar that also takes its food more seriously. The drinks are good, and the food is too. I like the crab nachos the most- that creamy melty cheese, guac, and a decent amount of crab over nachos is perfect as a sharable appetizer. Also, you can order your own thing too. I was thinking that maybe my expectations were low for this place considering they decided to name themselves just some random bar. And since my expectations were set low, it was pretty easy for my overall experience to be above par. But this is no random bar. It's an awesome bar. I've returned several more times with cravings and they were fully satisfied each time. Come during happy hour for their $6 cocktails and wines and $4 beers. They have a section of the menu that is available for a limited time, which means they rotate out some of their options with what makes sense seasonally. I ordered the wild halibut ceviche when it was on the limited menu and I absolutely fell in love with the chef. Also had several picky requests for the dishes and they both delivered to perfection. Also, I shouldn't mention that I would come here over it's sophisticated and popular neighbor any day so shhhhhhh! Nobody tell them because the servers and the food over there aren't bad either but you should come here first. I came here one weekday afternoon for Happy Hour right when it opened, so it was nearly empty! Their happy hour isn't amazing - their drink choices are pretty standard and there are no happy hour deals on food. Also, the food choices were somewhat limited and on the pricey side. We got ourselves cocktails and beers, and ordered some wings for an afternoon snack. I had been craving some wings for sometime, and the flavor definitely hit the spot. However, I felt like the wings were way too small, and the sauce a little too overpowering. As some Yelpers have mentioned, the chicken did fall right off the bone, sometimes even before it got to my mouth! A little too delicate for me. Not sure how I would characterize this place - confusing food cuisines merged into one menu, teeny bop music, and all-in-all none of it managed to match the overall feel of this place. In search of a pub after having dinner in the area, my handy dandy Yelp app led us here. The bar was pretty dead that evening granted it was a Sunday but I'm certainly not complaining. An ice cold local IPA on tap was all I wanted in an environment conducive enough to carry on a conversation. This random bar offered exactly that. The lady bartender was pretty cool and engaging, making us feel instantly at ease. Heads or tails? Little did I know they had "flip-a-coin Sundays" where if you won, your pint of beer is only $1 but if you lost, you pay regular price. Oooh yeah! That was quite a bonus. And yes, for all my rounds, I won! Woohoo!! We also got an order of sweet potato fries to munch on and these were pretty legit. They're not as orange in color as what I'm used to down here in SoCal, in fact they look exactly like regular french fries, only they were sweet. Very good. I find all aspects of this bar to be extremely cunning. The name itself seems to denote a bar that has a certain level of unpredictability and awkwardness because of its lack of adherence to any sort of label or categorization. It's Some Random Bar. It rouses a great deal of curiosity that makes you want to check it out to see what labels you can place on it. I dare not classify it as anything because it really is random. I love this bar. You'll be hard-pressed to find me saying that but this place has got it going on. The best part was that we randomly decided to walk into Some Random Bar based on randomly glancing at it as we walked past it for another place to eat dinner. This bar has a comfortable homey feeling to it. As if I am just heading over to a friend's house and they just happen to have a well-stocked bar, too. The bonus is that I am receiving great, crafted cocktails. The owner, Mike, was there and bartending that day. He was sociable and brought Florida's sunshine personality to Seattle, which is a breath of fresh air among the people here who stomp around wearing fake tan and distressed v-necks with mangled highwaters. I've noticed there's some trend in that success is inherently attached to the name, "Mike." I decided that night that I was going to name all of my children that regardless of sex. No variation of the name allowed. They only recently opened but I am impressed at the menu and cocktail selection, as well as the thought and consideration spent in crafting the recipes. Each dish and each cocktail all had unique elements that separated one from the other, as opposed to having ten versions of a sangria. We had a very difficult time deciding what drink or dish we wanted. In all, we had 5 cocktails and the Smoked Salmon Gnocchi. I sampled all five cocktails, even though only 2 were officially what I had ordered. I think I may have found a closeted alcoholic side of me of which I had no prior knowledge. Like some hidden talent that only needed someone to kick me in the ass to discover. I enjoyed every cocktail that was made. Not cocktails that you'd rather chug to numb your sad life or worse like giving it to your dog. These are sippable, enjoyable, socializing drinks. The food menu matches the creativity and meticulousness of the drinks menu. If I recall correctly, every dish had some focus on local and seasonal ingredients. I wouldn't feel bad about having that food sit right on my waist. We went with the Smoked Salmon Gnocchi and it was delicious. The entree was clearly made with attention to detail and presentation. There was equal amounts of salmon and gnocchi with neither ingredient overpowering the other. They were two great friends with mutual respect for each other. The addition of capers is always a fail-safe to play up anything with smoked salmon. If I weren't so intrigued by their other menu items, I would order this again. Some Random Bar makes being in Seattle a little less nauseating and vomit-inducing. Everything about it is worthy of 5 stars, to the owners, drinks, food, and atmosphere. There is a level of pride, enthusiasm, and personal investment in this bar that is not commonly found in others. I went to Some Random Bar for a Happy Hour with friends. It was a great place to sit down and try some great food and drinks! We ordered the crab nachos, steak tartare and chicken wings. They all tasted delicious! The chicken wing meat melted off the bone, cooked to perfection. This was my first time having steak tartare and I really enjoyed it. It was served up with some buttery toast, which left me wanting more. For drinks here I tried a few Texas Mule's. These are made with Tito's Vodka, so I knew they would not disappoint (and they didn't!). Our server here was wonderful. She checked on us multiple times, ensured we had everything we needed and made sure our water glasses stayed full. Some Random Bar also has multiple TVs for the "big game" - when we were there they had the NBA Finals and USA Soccer on. They were extremely packed upon our arrival but we were greeted by Liz who had gave us a run down of our expected wait time and we glady ordered a few drinks and stood until a spot opened up. Once we we're seated Sarah became our waitress and was just as sweet as Liz, great customer service from these two young ladies! We ordered the pork belly sliders and crab nachos and our mouths we're in heaven! Pork belly was so moist and tender. Crab nachos had plenty of crab flavor without an overwhelming cheesiness. Sometimes, when I've only been to a place once, I think to myself, 'I should just write a tip on my very-favorite-thing about it.' So I could've just written 'crab nachos' and left it at that. But it's hard to just write that and leave it there. It just looks lonely. Nachos are in the top 37 of my go-to comfort foods. Crab is in my top 10. (Can crab be a comfort food?) Cheese is its own food group...and all of these things on one plate is nearly too much for my poor lil heart to take. What I'm trying to say is that these nachos are worth coming here for. The music is worth it too. My friend and I laughed at each song that played--it was like listening to my I'm-feeling-nostalgic Spotify list. Our server had the rad-factor.
