I asked if Soma had any plunge bras and she didn't know what that was. I then asked if she had anything adhesive that could provide coverage, and she said she didn't understand what I was asking for. I just left the store...literally walking out as I'm typing this. This is my second time coming to SOMA and I enjoyed my last visit, but this visit was even better and it's because of Danyl. I felt so comfortable with her as she gave me recommendations, talked through what I was looking for and just the tips she gave overall. Im busty and curvy and I have a hard time finding bras that are comfy. I'm so so happy with the bras I ended up with, so much so that I had to stop trying them on so I didn't buy more than I planned lol. I love shopping at Soma. Located inside Water Tower Mall, they don't ever feel too busy or over crowded. The store is cute. Everything is displayed so nicely. It makes it so easy to shop. They always have the best pj's. They offer cute sets and mix & match pieces. They also have loungewear and under garments. The sale section is fantastic. Don't forget to check that out. The staff are very friendly and helpful. That makes it feel even nicer to shop. They always help you find your size and make suggestions in other colors etc. I hope they stay in Water Tower as it is so close to my house. I'm the first to admit that I cut fiduciary corners more often than not, especially when it comes to high-traffic items like bras and undies. Utilitarian, not much fun and no one sees them much so what do I care? Not anymore, I have seen the light. Soma's ladies are helpful and never pushy. They make the experience easy and comfortable, and the stock is lovely. There's something for everyone to make your girls look the best they can. Padded, lacy, push up, full coverage, cute, fun, functional and on and on. Lots of comfy pj's and pretty undies, even a bra sale rack where all of them are only twenty bucks. Three other items caught my eye while I was there and I completely plan to return for them. In fact, one color caught my eye that they were out of and my girl Molly said she'd order it for me and have it shipped to my address, free of charge. Nice! read more

They do not fit correctly. I referred my friend and same thing! What a waste if money!! The bras fit good at the store but after a couple of weeks, they stretch out. The band hits your armpits. They are clueless on fitting. Went to VS, and finally got bras that after even months of uses, they fit perfectly. I do not recommend this place to no one. My friend keeps telling me how she wanted her money on poorly made or fitted bras. read more

I work for an intimates brand and stopped by Soma Intimates in Chicago with a couple co-workers while visiting the city for work. They have fantastic intimates for middle-aged and older women such as full coverage and vanishing back bras, a range of underwear from thongs to high rise briefs, dressy sleepwear, and loungewear. My co-worker and I -- we both are in our mid-twenties -- were quickly greeted by a sales associate. I appreciated the attention until it became overbearing. We were asked multiple times if we needed help as we slowly wandered around the store. I felt that they suspected us of shoplifting since we were about 30+ years younger than their target demographic. After the in-your-face customer service experience, I wouldn't plan on going back to this retailer unless shopping for my mom. read more

The people here are so friendly! When I walked in I was instantly greeted by three different people. I chose one lady to work with primarily and she helped me with the one thing I wanted and didn't annoy me by suggesting 100 other items that I didn't need or want. Last Sunday, April 30th, I stopped in to browse and met a sales woman named Lauren that wanted to fit me. Cool, I wasn't sure of my current size, so that works. She sized me in the fitting room and brought some bras for me to try on. She said she wanted to see all of the bras on me, which is fine, so I told her I would let her know when I had them on. No, she wanted to stay in the room and had me face the wall while I changed. While I was naked from the waist up, she was telling me how I was built like her aunt and I was getting very self-conscious about my body. I felt the need to say that this was the heaviest I have ever been because she kept talking about my body. Her response, "That's ok, I like food too." Let that sink in for a second, especially if you've never struggled with your weight. She was equating my weight to an inability to control my eating. I have never come across someone so ignorant. I was so shocked, I couldn't even respond. She stepped out of the room and I quickly dressed and left. I felt like a fat and lazy slob after a remark that was so insensitive and so inaccurate. It's never ok to comment on someone's body, because you never know what they might be struggling with. For me, that's medical issues. This woman should be ashamed of herself. I am transgender and more than a little embarrassed to buy a bra. The experience was wonderful. The sales people were friendly and the lady.who fit me for a bra was adorable. I was told not to get an underwire bra. When I walked into SOMA I did not even know what an underwire bra was. An hour later I left with just that type of bra(push up). It is so comfortable. I love it. The bra lady fit me just right and was very kind and supportive. At the beginning I told her I shop like a man. So I stayed in the tryout room while she shopped for me. My new go-to for intimate apparel! I am very, ahem, well-endowed in certain areas, and it is extremely difficult to find bras in my size (and if I do, they usually look like something an 80 year old nun might consider too plain). I was shopping at a store at Water Tower, and the salesperson recommended I check out Soma. I walked in and was immediately greeted by friendly, smiling salespeople who truly seemed eager to help me. I worked with an amazing sales associate (I think her name was Jessica) who did a swift and professional measurement. She brought me a great selection of bras that not only addressed all of my wants, but fit perfectly. And I was amazed to find a beautiful, sexy black print bra with interesting straps, wholly unlike the drab styles I usually see in my size. They also had an amazing variety of different styles of underwear in great colors and at amazing prices. Because Soma has the feel of a specialty boutique, I was expecting some rather steep price tags, but this was not the case. All in all, I got 2 bras and 6 pair of underwear for less than $100, which is normally close to the price of a single bra at some places. They also have a nice selection of lingerie and pajamas, which I will check out in my next visit. I have previously purchased bras at department stores and have found the prices to be exorbitant and service to be lacking, if not entirely non-existent (often the case in large, busy department stores).
