We were only in Chicago for 3 days and we managed to come to Alice & Wonder twice. Before our trip my friend Heidi had been sending us Tiktoks about going to Alice & Wonder to get our souvenir hat, you actually pick a hat of your choice and add some cute little patches, so I was really excited even though I cannot wear hats, my head size does not allow for it unfortunately. But I was able to get a couple of patches that I'm going to patch on to my book tote. The team here was super sweet, they make sure you like the placement of the patches before pressing them on, my friends made some really cute hats that I'll have to get photos. I ended up getting a hotdog patch that said Chicago and a spicy patch, a pair of socks and magnet, they give you cute little tote bags so you can shop throughout the city and add more to it. Really good value I think, they did say I can press it onto my beret at home instead so I might do that with one of the patches. Definitely a must check out, this location was a 10 minute walk from our hotel but there are a couple of other locations as well.

Love love love this store. Found it on TikTok and it was so cute. Definitely recommend to go early because there is a long wait to check in for the hat experience. If you go just for shopping minimal wait depending how crowded the store is! It got so busy inside. Made a hat and cute accessories! Pretty pricey but if you like hats definitely a good souvenir.

Stopped here on our final day of our girls trip to make a take home souvenir and was very pleased with our experience. We went as soon as they opened around 11am so there was no wait. They have an expansive array of patches and hats to choose from. You are able to try on the hats and take your patches before they are pressed on. Staff was friendly and provided great recommendations of other areas to visit. The store was clean and organized.

Such a fun place to get a souvenir! They will help you pick out and place patches as well so it ends up looking nice.

Wifey copped a hat here while in Chicago. The store was super busy with customers. The service by team members was great, they work as a team really well. The press on patches to apply to hats were all six dollars a piece. Cool store to visit while exploring Chicago.

This store was cute . I expected to pay a pretty penny based on the research that I heard about the store so I knew what to expect. When entering there is someone there to greet you at the front door. The store isn't that big but it's enough room to get what you need to get done. They have a fitting room downstairs. There's a big variety of hats to choose from along with the iron on patches. My one gripe is that I just wish there were a bit more variety with the iron on patches.

IF I COULD GIVE 6 STARS I WOULD! The staff, the creativity behind the TikTok moment that brought me to them, etc. etc. Nothing was missed in this store. I would love to come back to Alice & Wonder when I return to the city. The hat creativity was endless within myself but nearly doubled when I was speaking to the cashier. She was great! & even left me with great food recommendations. Loveddd this location!

The crowd. People traveled from near and far.

This hat bar is truly a unique concept. Whether you are a Chicago local or have traveled afar these hats make great gifts and souvenirs. The store was super crowded and the line was a bit hard to navigate. Eventually, one line becomes two. One line is to choose your hat style and color. The other line is to customize your hat by choosing patches that reflect your personality. As the line moved along, my friend and I began conversations with others. We met people from Atlanta, Ohio, San Francisco, South Carolina and of course, Chicago. Most said they heard of Alice and Wonder from Tick Tock and were excited to visit. The employees all had very good energy and were happy to help or answer any questions. My patches included a smily face, pink heart, espresso martini, cherries and a sign that says 'always a good idea.' This store also sells t-shirts, sweat shirts, dresses, baby clothes, and posters. Hats are 32$ and each patch starts at 6$ each.

This is a must stop tourist destination! I spent a ton of money here and made a personalized hat at their hat bar. Picking out a hat and making it my very own was fun and made a cute souvenir. I got a cute keychain, pair of sunglasses, and a shirt. They even placed everything in a cute market tote for free! My sunglasses came with a free cute case as well!

Alice & Wonder has become a must stop when in Chicago. They always have a selection of boutique style clothing and Chicago sweaters and shirts that are nice quality. They now have a hat bar where you pick a hat, then they have a giant selection of patches where you design the hat and then they use a machine to adhere the patches while you wait. My daughter and I had super fun designing hats. A very short walk off of Michigan Ave and makes for a collectible souvenir.

Went here for the hat bar and was sooooo impressed with this shop. Not only do they have the hats but they have such cute Chicago stuff and other boutique items. Also the hat process was so fast! Each person checking you out has their own machine to create the hat so it was so so fast and I was very happy with the hat and the experience!

I would say this is a nice establishment but be aware it's really small. I probably should've went as soon as they opened to beat the foot traffic. Because it was so tight I dont feel like I truly got to think about what I put on my hat. Everyone was just scattering around the hats and the patches. The hats are about 30 bucks & each patch is 6 dollars each. I do think thats a bit pricey honestly but overall worth it. As I checked out the staff was great, make sure you have card because they do not take cash.

Alice and Wonder was recommended to me by a local as a place where I could get cute Chicago keepsakes that didn't scream souvenir shop. Locals come here for woman's clothing and for hats. Apparently they have cute Chicago themed patterns that you can custom embroider on hats that they sell. At least twenty people were in line for this process and it looked really cool. I was able to find some things to bring home for my wife. Got some cute Chicago socks and a hair clip. When they rang me up, they nicely wrapped it and put it in a cute Chicago tote. Totes awesome. My wife will love that. This can be found on state street less than a half mile from the river

I adore this spot…read more The only thing that could make this place better would be more fabulous things for me to buy. Although I'm pretty sure my husband would disagree. The staff is so kind and helpful. I do wish they had a bathroom. But really. It's okay. Cuz my guys just went to Starbies and brought me back a drink. I also wish they had a lot for parking. I don't care... they still get five stars from me.

Paper Source is a good place to find nice, thick wrapping paper, stationery, cards, and all the…read morethings you need for gift giving purposes (you might even find the gift itself here). I'd been to the ones on Southport and on Wells but it was interesting to see the difference in merchandise here. It makes sense--this location seemed to have more office-type merchandise, and for a location in the Loop what better place to sell office supplies? Heck, I even had to stop myself from buying some of the cute office stuff they have here, and I only work two days per week in the office and still don't have my office space fully set up at home. If you need a last-minute card, even if it's beyond the standard congratulations or birthday, this is a great place to stop. And it's directly across the street from the Clark postal station, so may as well get it in the mail immediately before you forget! They had several board games. I'm a board gamer but usually don't play the ones that get mass market attention, and I saw some more niche ones like Steam Up which was truly surprising. I'm not sure who's coming here to buy them but I am totally in favor of stores supporting small publishers. I also saw journals, notepads, coffee cups, and so on. There's no parking here given its location in the loop. Train, bus, and/or foot will be your options.
