Chicago has the best souvenir shops and this one is among them. They have everything that you could want to remember Chicago by. We were looking for several things like quality magnets, mugs and frames and found some here as well as one other souvenir shop nearby. The prices are reasonable here. We didn't need to go anywhere else. The manager here was very nice and helpful. She had some good recommendations about sightseeing that we appreciated. We took a picture of her. I was walking by on my way to get something to eat at the Taste of Chicago when I spotted this place. I love collecting souvenirs everywhere I travel, especially a shot glass and a magnet, so of course I had to stop in! Love the name!! The store wasn't crowded at all, which was great, and it was well stocked with plenty of Chicago souvenirs, T-shirts, magnets, shot glasses and other items. Quick take: The ABC stores of downtown Chicago Loved that the store was clean and organized. I think there were 3 of these stores within one block. I just so happened to walk by this store while site seeing and decided to see if i can grab a memento of my time in Chicago. I was able to pick up a cool Chicago hat and a magnet for under $30! I was not mad at that. The service was okay. Just regular nothing to special. It reminded me of those i love ny stores lol. No returns allowed! Buyers beware. Went to return a few overpriced souvenirs and the lady said no returns, it says it on the receipt. Seriously?? Nowhere else in the store does it tell you no returns until you've actually bought the item and then you can see it on the receipt. So helpful... Also they have signs for buying multiple shirts and getting a discount but doesn't specify which shirts they actually applies to until you've get to the counter. Overpriced and deceiving. This place is a rip off. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Better off going to the airport. My family was shopping in here. My in-laws bought 2 tshirts for the kids and left 5 minutes before us. We bought 2 tshirts without knowing they just bought them. When we found out right outside, I went back in and explained the situation. They told me "too bad, should have read the policy on the receipt". They never gave me one and wouldn't give me a refund. After eating our deep dish pizza at Lou Malnati's, while walking back to our hotel my coworker tells me that he needed to stop by this tourist trap souvenir shop called - "Bye Bye Chicago" to pick up something for his daughter. What can I say about - "Bye Bye Chicago"? Don't let that "SALE" sign by the door fool you as everything in this store is a wee-bit overpriced, but I won't rag on them for it, as it's just about a simple - "supply & demand" thing. You need a souvenir? Bye Bye Chicago definitely has it! To top it off, if you don't have car, and your only means of transportation is your feet, at least Bye Bye Chicago is conveniently situated in an area in downtown Chicago where you can pick something up for a loved one, without having to catch a taxi to get to a souvenir shop. Bye Bye Chicago carries the usual touristy stuff like - t-shirts, baseball caps and hats, sweatshirts, coffee mugs and cups, refrigerator magnets, and I'm pretty sure a lot more things that I missed here, Lol! I hate to say this as a Chicago native and as someone who loathes tourist traps but I was working nearby and was still in the market for a Chicago flag shirt. Having been to other 'Chicago' stores I found a lot of interesting designs but I wanted something a little more basic and less inventive shall we say. So, I begrudgingly went here because it was either this or a Walgreen's. They had the shirts I wanted and when I went they had a pretty decent sale so I ended up buying another one for a semi-decent price. I haven't seen any souvenir shops around downtown Chicago until I walked past this shop! It is very near to the millennium park, so if you are in need to find some moderately priced souvenirs for friends and family this is a nice place to go to. They have tshirts and sweatshirts that range from $16+, keychains, magnets, mugs, kitchenware, pins, shot glasses, snow globes, caps, tiny sculptures of the Willis tower, and many more. There's a wide variety to choose from and I am very happy to find this store at a very convenient location from my hotel. read more

They don't accept returns at all. Even if you come next day, with the receipt, and the item is unwashed, unworn, with tag. Unreal. They don't even have rooms to try the items on so you take your chances when you spend your money there. Go RIGHT NEXT DOOR to Chicago Sports. If you're going to be trying to get from point A (Hancock Center) to point B Millennium Park, you will be walking past Bye Bye Chicago. It's a total tourist trap but who can resist baby cubs gear? Well, my dorky self cannot. So I ran in there, grabbed some baby tee inscribed with "my first cubs shirt" and squeezed to the checkout. It's awfully tight in the store but they seem to have anything you may want if you were a tourist or know someone who is or someone who just loves Chicago filled stuff. I'm giving them an extra star because the guy at the register was patiently trying to "run my United Gold card" a few times and it wouldn't go through? There's a line forming around me cause there's not much room to form behind me. "What? It's a new card! Oh, yea, that's my United gold card, not my gold CREDIT CARD. Oops. Seeing as how there are almost 0 souvenir shops near the tourist attractions, this one will suffice as its across the street from Millennium Park. The selection of goods are not extremely vast but they do have unique shot glasses which I thought were nice. They also have a decent array of Al Capone themed items. I felt this store was kind of expensive compared to other tourist traps in NY but then I need to remember, there is no major ocean port near by & transport for these goods are high when coming by rail. I walked into a gift shop get some T-shirts for the kids to take home. I saw that their prices were a little high so I walked next-door and purchased the T-shirts from a very friendly man at the souvenir shop next-door. I came back because I was going to buy myself a sweatshirt that I had seen even though it was a little pricey. When I asked for a larger size from the rack above the lower rack, one of the ladies asked her coworker in Spanish what size do you need? Her response was Gorda. Translation: Fat. I'm a white woman but I speak a little Spanish. When I confronted them on what they said, they looked like two idiots in the headlights. I asked them what they said and they both stumbled over a response denying what I heard. I walked out... I've never been so taken aback by someone's ignorance and stupidity. These ladies seriously need to be fired or held accountable for their actions. The owner should have a secret shopper come in to see who they've hired and the lack of professionalism, kindness and horrible customer service. I'd leave a zero star if I could. Your won't find anything less than $5 so if you planning on taking for a lot of people it will get expensive.There's two other stores right next to it the sports and anothe souvenir store both also pricey. I would like to give Jonny Gieselman Buyer, a shout-out for the way my purchase problem was resolved. I brought a pretty pink flask as a Christmas gift. However when I returned home to Portland Oregon and removed the purchase tag..there remained the sticky glue substance from the purchase tag and could not remove the glue without damaging the flask. I returned the flask with a request to replace it and along with my postage cost. Jonny immediately sent back to me both a new flask without a purchase tag and the cost of my postage. I felt like these stores were kind of everywhere in downtown. Cute stuff for tourists to purchase as souvenirs. Since it's on the main street, you will come upon this shop while walking from the museum or Millenium park to any riverboat tour you plan on taking.
