Since I'd only recently learned about this boutique in our neighborhood, I decided to give it a try last week. I was hesitant to approach the store at first since I was unfamiliar with the layout, but I was attracted by the cute products I saw on the display and decided to go in. I'm thankful that it did not disappoint. Immediately upon entering the store, I was greeted with a smile and a genuine hello. The staff at this store is incredibly knowledgeable about their inventory and is always happy to provide a helping hand to you. Furthermore, there is a large selection available. This enabled me to choose from a diverse choice of their products as a result. The products I purchased last week much exceeded my expectations, and I will most certainly be back next week to make additional purchases. I live near this wonderful store and stop in often. I am always greeted with a smile and a warm hello. The staff is very knowledgeable on their inventory and are always ready to assist you. Whether I am looking for myself or for a special gift I am always happy when I leave. The selection is huge. Everything is organized by color or type of clothing. The swim suit section is fantastic. It is really nice shopping here. I always feel at home and comfortable whenever I went here because of their great customer service. They also have a lot of variety of women clothes that made me enjoy a lot. I became addicted in shopping in this boutique because I really like their taste in fashion. The clothes especially the tops are always on trend and so classy to wear. Just last week, I bought two of this which looks so good to me and I got a lot of compliment from my friends when I wear the black one with minimalist design. It's pretty pricey but I think it's reasonable enough cause it really has a good quality plus the design is so perfect to me. Definitely worth the money. Wintertime in Chicago is not the easiest time to find a bathing suit, but Londo Mondo will have what you need for a tropical getaway any time of year. On the way to shop, my friend and I stopped at nearby Blue Agave for a margarita. Let me tell you...if you are like me and have hesitations about trying on bathing suits (especially in the dead of winter, pale skin and all), you must have a margarita beforehand! And apparently we were not the only ones with this mindset. There were a few other groups of shoppers in the store an hour before closing on a Saturday. And.....I'm pretty sure we had all been drinking. And some still were. In the store. I remember seeing a bottle of Yellow Tail (7 eleven is across the street) People were laughing, having a great time, it was hilarious. They have a great selection of suits! There are a variety of bikini separates for various degrees of bustiness. The sales people there are wonderful. They know to ask you where you are going because hey, you're getting out of the cold and you're excited. I'm going to THAILAND by the way :) They also let me use their bathroom which I greatly appreciated. This was my second time in the store. The first time a while back (Costa Rica trip) I remember them having a better selection of cover ups, but this time I was more impressed with the bathing suit selection. The prices vary. I managed to get a bikini top and bottom for under $100, but there are also suits nearing $200. You do have to be careful while bikini shopping under the influence (BSUI). I realized after getting home that I had actually been trying on the halter bikini top upside down! Luckily it still fit. Oh, that reminds me, no returns on bathing suits! read more

Bought a jacket that in the first wash shrank. It was the only piece of clothes that shrank in that specific washing. Called the store and accordingly to them, nothing was possible to be done. They just felt sorry, barely tried to help or provide any positive consumer experience. I paid over $70.00 for the jacket and I was able to wear a couple of times in two months. Feeling sorry does not fixed or help about the jacket that I will not be able to wear again. The jacket brings an Asia tag so probably the cost of production was low however high price to be sold. I wish I had the information about the poor quality clothes of London Mondo before making any shopping decision. I really hope this review helps you. My sister in i popped in Londo Mondo yesterday just to look around, I wasn't planning on trying on swim suits but when i asked if there was anything i shouldn't missed, they asked me a few questions about my body type, sent me to a fitting room (with champagne!) and brought me 3 suits, all of which fit and were adorable. i bought the first one i tried on. My sister did the same, we never have had an easier or more pleasant time buying swimsuits! the staff couldn't have been nicer, and they have really great stuff! Only place in Chicago to find stylish non-athletic swimwear year-round. I'll admit it's hit and miss... sometimes I can't find one style I like & sometimes I want to drop a grand on four bikinis. They allow you to mix and match sizes. I never understood why some stores won't let you take a medium bottom and pair it with a large top-- what woman is the same size on top and bottom?! I've never purchased but they do have cute clothes and accessories. The sales people are perfectly attentive and will help you find what's best for you if you want the help. The two casual summer dresses I bought here are probably the two I get the most compliments on. That being said, I don't find something here I love every time I come in, and actually, I would say that the times I find something I would be interested in buying are few and far between. I love this boutique. They have a random selection of workout and going out/everyday clothes, lingerie and bathing suits (hard tail, bare underwear, spanx, seven and joes jeans and leggings.) They also carry thoughtfully selected boots, flip flops, tons of bathing suits and coverups. They've done a great job of picking their merchandise so takes all the "rummaging" bs out of your shopping experience. I come here in a pinch when I need a cute ____ and they usually deliver. Every time I leave Londo Mondo I feel like a Rock Star! The salespeople are great in locating just he right thing for me. I trust the salespeople to tell me what looks good and what doesn't. They talked me into a Summer dress that I would never had bought and i never received so many compliments. I hesitated about writing a review because I don't want the "masses" going to my boutique. I love not having whatever everyone else has! I went in there last night and tried to find something to wear with "skinny jeans". I cannot believe I've been shopping in Chicago for 17 years and I just came upon this fantastic clothing boutique today (killing time before a massage @ Urban Oasis- an awesome day spa found on YELP). Wow! What a great place with such stylish pieces. Another review nailed it- the buyer is extraordinary. The selection is eclectic and spot on trend, with a high quality selection that I was able to go through and find several unique & great pieces (vest, scarf, zip coat dress) to buy. Awful customer service ! Promised me they would contact me when they received an item I was looking for in my size. They never called - and of course, when I checked back the item was sold out (nice going - thanks). Then when I expressed my disappointment - they had an attitude and thought it was no big deal. And they had no clue when it would be re-stocked. Their website is full of merchandise that is not available - they don't know when they will receive anything, just a joke. They're overrun with tie dye junk - as if anyone buys that anymore - but it's hard to get the basics from them. How do you meet your customer's needs when you don't have the merchandise they want ? Here's a hint - try stocking the basics in the sizes people buy - like small, MEDIUM and large. read more

While this store may live up to all of it's billing for women's clothing, it's reached the point where they should no longer claim to have anything to do with inline skating. I have purchased skates here previously and had a decent experience (~4 years ago). A change from walking into the big overblown sports store, the boutique atmosphere gave the feeling of focused customer service. Well, that's all gone. From what I can tell, they are now trying to tackle this online primarily. They have no displays and when I walked in with a question about my skates I had purchased there previously, I felt like I was annoying the staff who was clearly focused on women's clothing. The sales person disappeared into the backroom and then a guy emerged stating 'what do you want?' I had a broken skate and asked if he had any suggestions about what I should do and with a blank stare he said... 'uhhh no.' I was fully prepared to buy a new set of skates but that willingness quickly vanished. Now, I am not a review writer (this is actually my first) but this is a topic I know a bit about having worked in an in-line skate shop in MI for 4 years, I know what customer service in this area should look like. This experience was truly an abortion of customer service. I am always skeptical of a business that does not stand behind their merchandise. Londo Mondo will not give you a refund on a returned item, even with a receipt. It is store credit only. Sale items are final sale. If you want to match it to an item you have at home you need to have ESP, you need to bring that item with you to their store.
