Love Solidcore! I've been working out for the past 20+ years and this is by far the most engaging, motivational, and fun workout I've ever experienced. Not to mention the amazing euphoria you feel from the rush of endorphins after the 50-minute workout. I'm totally hooked! Working out by yourself can get boring. Working out at boot camp can be too much. Solidcore has a perfect balance of low impact, high intensity, and plenty of modifiers for each exercise to accommodate any strength level. Not to mention that every class is different so it's always challenging, plus no plateaus for your growth. One thing though, the loud music is so good but wear earplugs! Hands down this is still the hardest workout I've ever done. I've taken over 80 classes and it still kicks my butt every time. It's a serious core workout but you definitely still workout your arms and lower body, specifically your glutes. The moves can be a little tricky but the instructors try to put you next to people that have attended a number of classes. Also once you register for a class you only have 10 hours before that class to cancel without a $30 fee. Pro tip: If you really want to see change in your body I would recommend doing your first month unlimited and try to go at least 15x. I know it sounds like a lot but I lost 7 lbs, inches all over and toned up! read more

[solidcore] - Gyms Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

Tried a class here on classpass and lived through it to tell the tale! Instructor was friendly, encouraging, and upbeat, which made the workout that much easier. It was difficult to hear her at times, and/or understand the form or what to do next. I think that may be a given if you're new to the machine. The workout itself was challenging but fun, and made me ache for 3-4 days after. There is really an intense focus on your core, and that's something I usually don't work out in my typical gym session. Only downside is that the classes are quite expensive, and can be super challenging for a beginner (a bit difficult to scale down). Overall, I recommend trying this out to see if you like (and can survive) pilates on crack. read more

What a fun workout! I've done reformer work before but have always wanted to try Solidcore due to their cult following in DC. My instructor Josh was very helpful and encouraging throughout the class, even though I was pretty bad at most of the moves. Despite the fact that these are slow, small movements, you will definitely feel them! My core is on fire right now and it hurts so good! I got a set of classes through ClassPass' trial and I'm very much considering buying classes because I think Solidcore would be a good addition to my workout routine. I'll be back! :) read more

I don't like to throw around 5 stars, but in this case, it is warranted ( I will explain further down why I actually posted 4) To be clear, this workout is nothing new if you have jumped into the barre workout world, have ever been in a physical training environment or if you just know a lot about yoga and pilates movements. You will get plenty of lunges and squats and core movements and it is all done on a reformer(megareformer machine). Again, nothing that insane on paper. What makes this workout KICK@$$ is the environment, the speed, the instructors and the ambiance!! You come directly into this studio and you are immediately in the gym. The music is LOUD and you can hear your instructors voice over the loud music and the frenetic pace gets you going. No joke, it's like the Key and Peele EDM skit; you truly feel like you can do whatever workout they place in front of you because of that setting. They count down the seconds until class starts and whoosh, you are off. There are. No. Breaks. Your body is truly pushed to fatigue with the constancy of movement, but it feels right because nobody is scolding you for not perfectly doing a movement. It's all encouragement here: you do what you can and you are commended for trying to do more than your best at that point. Positivity lives here, in all of the signs on the mirrors and on the walls and not in a corny unmanageable and annoying way, but more like a Rocky Balboa is in your heart way. You are going from move to move not even realizing how their positivity is moving you along until you are in your final few seconds of class thanking God that you made it. Artemis and Katie were awesome teachers. Artemis even emailed to check on me, awesome! The only thing I would have liked was a little more fixing of my imperfections, but the support was tremendous!! Dani Izzo is our favorite teacher here. She provides clear and concise directions and helpful to newbies. I like the layout of this studio compared to other studios because the cubbies are within viewing distance. Navy yard and Bethesda locations have cubbies outside the studio room and made me paranoid to leave valuables unlocked and unattended there. Always appreciate the bobby pins before class and reward mint after class. Glad to see Solidcore on Classpass! read more

[Solidcore] has been referred to as pilates on steroids. I originally found [solidcore] through ClassPass when I was furloughed and used the opportunity to get in shape. I work out regularly and it is literally the most physically challenging thing I've ever done! It's a 50-minute high intensity, low impact full body workout that builds strength and endurance. It never gets easier- you only get stronger. I did barre at least five times a week prior to the pandemic, so I was accustomed to the shaky feeling of achieving muscle failure. But with barre, I started to get bored as the class format was the same and I sometimes felt like I was repeating classes during the week. Every day in [solidcore] focuses on two different muscle groups, so you don't get bored. As an unlimited member since November 2021, I've been going regularly, checking out different studios in the DMV, and definitely see results. I now have definition in my muscles that I've never seen before! I primarily go to Crystal City, which is a relatively new studio- it's huge with 19 [sweatlanas]! All of the coaches are amazing, encouraging and give you personalized attention to improve your form, which helps you get a better workout- you can really feel the difference with minor adjustments. I highly recommend newcomers start with the full body workout to get familiar with the equipment, terms, moves, etc. [Solidcore] is addictive. It is expensive, but worth it. The best workout I've ever done, bar none. I've done crossfit, parkour, HIIT, spinning, every trendy class, you name it. This is the hardest and most effective 50 minutes out there. The coaches are excellent, totally engaged, 100 percent professional and superbly motivating. After unhelpful feedback that barely addressed my concerns from solidcore, I continue to have major doubts and would like to highlight the lack of concern for safety. I've included direct text from emails between the membership coordinator, owner, and me. 1. "I just sent it again -- let me know if you get it. If not, you can message me your email and I can send it there." Message on Yelp. I did not receive the emails. Anne did leave her email so I sent a message. 2. "Hi Joanna - I didn't see a message? Can you copy and paste it in here?" I referenced her messages on Yelp that she sent me about contacting her. I sent the messages. 3, "Meg - roping you in? I didn't send a message via yelp?" So Meg, the membership coordinator, is sending messages on Yelp pretending to be the owner? 4. Meg apologizes that I had a negative experience and stated that she emailed me twice to the email that they had on file. I didn't receive those messages, which I wrote in my initial email to Anne. I told both Anne and Meg that I received a generic email a day after the class that began "Hey people!"I proceeded to tell Meg and Anne that my main issues stem from the fact that our instructor had never taught a beginners class. 5. I didn't include this next bit in my Yelp review because it happened after I wrote it "I woke up in the middle of the night to sharp pains in my ribs. As a former college athlete and current marathoner I'm used to pain but this was different. I can only point to the solidcore workout for the cause and later exacerbated by my 9-5 desk job. I'm used to being sore, this went beyond anything part of the normal recovery process. I thought my form was off during the workout and the pain in my ribs is only solidifying that hunch. " 6. "I am so sorry again. I definitely understand how overwhelming the first class can be." No, you don't understand my point or why I'm frustrated. Also, why didn't Meg ask "Are you ok? Did you receive medical attention?" I wrote back to explain that it wasn't the class was overwhelming. It's my concern about safety and how they conduct the classes. I went onto the website to look at the coaches bios- there was not one that mentioned certification or specific education (bachelor or master's) to deal with athletic and physical training. I told them that "If you had written back "all our instructors are certified in x, y, and z and have considerable teacher training", I would have felt better." 7. Final message from Meg " I totally understand. All of our coaches are certified to coach [solidcore] and are also CPR certified. They go through extensive training for over 10 weeks, not including a practicum time period of about 4 weeks. Cindy herself has been coaching for about 9 months and has taught hundreds of classes. We love Cindy and so do our clients, but we have other coaches that you might enjoy better." Do know what people also like? Olive Garden. That doesn't mean that it's actually a good restaurant or provides authentic Italian food. The responses were superficial and primarily placed the blame on me. At no point was the apology sincere. Also, why isn't Anne involved if this is her company? I know there are other solidcore studios throughout the city so maybe it's different. I'm still hung up on the safety issue- why should I trust coaches who are mostly fitness enthusiasts and lack rigorous instructor training. I feel like this is the Teach for America version of Reformer pilates. It takes time to become a good instructor. As you can tell, I'm not impressed. Let the buyer beware. read more

After several attempts to try and contact this location, all I have to say is there is NO communication. It appears this organization goes the same route of other boutique fitness joints of only having an instructor (who is not empowered to make decisions) when it comes to staffing the front desk. I bought a class pack (2 for $25). Depending on how you access their page, you may not see that the classes expire after a month. I am a fitness professional and have the app their website uses (MBO) loaded on my phone. When I accessed it through here (which it automatically does) these terms weren't visible. Very miffed with solidcore. UPDATE: After posting this review, I was contacted and had my problem resolved. I am editing my 1 star to a 3 star given this response. I will update the stars (if necessary) based on when I actually get to take a class. They were very nice in their communication; I only regret it had to resort to yiping on yelp about it! YET ANOTHER UPDATE: After asking about a five class pack through email, I was charged for them. Granted I actually wanted the classes, but the timing with which could have been better communicated give that my classes expired yet again like as in the first review. The only problem is that this place does not communicate this to you. There are no reminder emails about expiration dates coming up, etc. Also, I never gave permission for my credit card to be stored in their system to even allow such purchases online (or through email), yet it was. Now I would have to pay $15 per class to extend the due date for another month. No thanks. It is such a shame that such good workout classes are plagued by such poor business practices. Still the best workout in town! Been at solidcore for about 7 months now and it's still as challenging as the first day. Ramona is my favorite coach... she's energetic, knows your limits and her playlists are the best! I've noticed my overall strength increase, and have noticed toning in my arms and legs. First impressions: It will make you will sweat, It will be challenging for all abilities, It attracts a predominately female crowd. Most importantly, I wish the instructor made out class 10 minutes longer (we were all new and it was the last class of the night) to really take the time to teach us the movements before we did them. This has been a large criticism of Crossfit gyms, where its even more important because of the heavy weights, although I feel there are other types of gyms, like this one, that more often overlook the importance of it. The movements were mostly new to me, so they felt a little awkward. It took on average about half of the time on each movement to figure out what I was supposed to be doing and how to position myself. Also, there is no specific warm-up or cool down time as part of the class. It wasn't mentioned by the instructor. Other than that our instructor, Cynthia was great. Very pleasant. The studio was clean, the machines don't seem too hard to use (a little tricky, but I'm overlooking that a little because it was my first time). read more

Literally the hardest work out in DC. But the results are noticeable. I've been going for about a year and I feel stronger and look super toned. Running wasn't cutting it and this work out is so much better than running. The coaches are awesome and really get to know you and your strengths. I always walk out drenched in sweat and feeling good. If you want to challenge yourself and see REAL results, you should try it out. This is my absolute favorite workout in DC! Workout: I have tried pretty much all of the boutique workouts in the DMV and this is the most challenging. I have some injuries and SC's program is the to strengthening my back safely. It's so intense, a true full-body workout. I feel like if doctors could prescribe a workout it would be SC, bc of the slow purposeful resistance training. Coaches: are BAF! Super friendly and committed to YOUR greatness, not focused on their own. My #1 is Jackie T, as she intro'd me to SC, Jess brought me back in after Jackie moved away. Thanks so much to Jess for bringing me back and keeping me coming back with her dope playlist and killer structure. Another : Hannah is a new BAF coach on the block so definitely look for her on the schedule. Other 's are: Jo and Caity. At least once every class I feel like I may die, that's usually when the staff dutifully reminds me to take a deep breath and tell myself I'm stronger than I could ever imagine -- thanks y'all, you make SC great! Studio: clean and welcoming! Everyone snags a cubby, hangs up their jackets and grabs two towels (front + back platform). Lighting, temp and music levels are PERFECT. Bathroom well-stocked, the only thing it's missing is a shower for people on the go. However, this empire is expanding so expect one in your neighborhood soon! read more

Great, very intense workout in an intimate environment. I thought I was in good shape before I started (I do corepower yoga 3-4 times a week and run a lot) but this class challenges you like nothing else. I still feel like I'm going to throw up during some classes haha. It took me until class 4 or 5 to feel familiar with the megaformer and all of the exercises, because I had spaced the classes out too far with everything else I had going on. My favorite instructor has been Erica Breaux, who is also the studio manager at the MVT location. Removed a star because the classes are expensive even in DC, at $37/class, although I took advantage of new student specials for reduced rates. I'll plan to continue going once or twice a week though, as it is very addictive! read more

Your thoughts during this workout will probably be "....." That is, you will not be able to think and will instead have your mind filled with silence, exhaustion, and surrender. I had taken one Megaformer class before Solidcore (at Core40 in San Francisco) before I came here so I knew what to expect. I was still afraid. I am still afraid before every class I come to here. I consider myself pretty fit (I work out 4-5 times a week) and megaformer workouts still kick my butt. I do Pilates reformer twice a week and yoga once a week usually and I would say that those two workouts are probably the best prep for work on the megaformer. It will hurt and burn during and after the workout. Even when I am slacking on a move it still hurts a lot. I have to collapse and reset multiple times in any given workout. Sometimes I want to cry and then I muster the enthusiasm to do 4 more halfhearted reps. As the carriage starts to slowly float away from me because I can't hold my plank or do 100 crunches I feel as if I'm on that board, slowly floating away from Leo in the ocean, full of frustration and regret. It's fun guys! If you're the sort of person whose classmates encourage you, you're in luck here, where most people look like they're winners of Ironmans and marathons or are former Navy Seals. I mean, I'm regularly called inspiring for my exercise habits but here I feel like I've been sitting on the couch eating hot pockets all my life. Instructors here are really encouraging and friendly (I've never had my hand shook by so many instructors and gotten so much small talk from an instructor before) and there's a lot of follow up on questions and complaints either through Yelp or through studio surveys which I think is really great. They say that the workout will yield immediate results and I would hazard to say this is probably true if you do it as much as they recommend. Alas I am not an investment banker (or married to one) so I'll have to stick to new student specials and occasional visits at off peak hours (side note: if you are a hot investment banker I am VERY interested). read more

I love love love this workout. I have been doing it for about a year and have seen major changes in my body and my strength. The coaches are great and supportive and with the small class size, I always feel I get the personal attention that I need. Their customer service is A1 and when emailing the manager, I always get a prompt response! Working out was always something I struggled with because I could never find the motivation to do so. I find doing strength training on my own to be really... well, boring, but more workout classes tend to be more cardio-focused. This is a great, low-impact, resistance-focused strength workout. It's great cross-training for running, and the instructors are high-energy and fantastic. I'm reluctant to even mention it, because it'll make her classes even harder to get into, but Anna Wheat is my favorite instructor and I'd definitely recommend giving her class a chance if you're on the fence. read more

The workout is definitely super challenging! As others have said, it's intense, full body strengthening. I left shaking and sweaty and was really happy about it. What prompted me to write this review though, was the trainer (Sarah A.) and just the general atmosphere of this studio. This studio really makes new students feel welcome and offers extra encouragement. I guess some people might feel put on the spot being called out as a new student, but everyone was so friendly and welcoming that it actually just made it easier to loosen up. There was no feeling of being an outsider, no one trying to be better than their neighbor - everyone was just cheering for each other. Plus, the bonus of the small class size as a newbie is that there was a lot of extra instruction. The only con is the price. It's a bit high for me to go more than once in a while, but I'll look forward to those classes! read more

Great workout that yields immediate results. The instructors are friendly and informative and although you will push yourselves and feel the burn, the workout is low impact and will steadily raise your heart rate. Classes are small (no more than 9 or 10) so you get that personal instruction during your workout. Although they have water fountains, bring a water bottle, be prepared to sweat, and beginners may feel sore a day or two after. read more

Let me start by saying that I actually formed a six pack the morning after attending my very first [solidcore] class last night. I don't know how this is even possible but trainer Caity is that good. But in all seriousness, these classes are great but tough. Real tough. Caity is going to push you but also has the knowledge to help you do the exercises thoroughly and correctly, not quickly. It's not about speed in these classes but rather about doing the actual motions. Caity also provided great feedback regarding my positions, especially since I looked like a newborn calf trying to stand up for the first time while in some of them. It didn't help that I was sweating like a kid in summer camp through the whole thing, but so was everyone else, including Caity, so that just proved that she was putting her all into instructing us. Also, props to her playlist, though I think it could use more Creed. TLDNR: Take Caity's class and you won't regret it. read more

I don't know how it's taken me so long to write a review for solidcore!! I've been to a few of the locations, and while the Shaw one is most convenient for me, the setup of the Mt. Vernon one is my favorite. So I'll review this one. This is a challenging and unique workout. Even if you're in great shape, you WILL feel the burn during class (and probably the next day too!), but the time moves along quickly and it's a fun atmosphere. My 3 favorite things about solidcore: 1. Every workout is different and includes lots of moves. I also do CrossFit and that's what I like about both. You never know what you're going to get, and the combinations of moves and muscle groups keep your body guessing and keep your mind from getting bored. It also makes the class go by faster when you aren't working the same body parts over and over. 2. Low-impact. There's something to be said for running and jumping and slamming things around. But it's great to cross-train in a completely different way. The coaches are also really helpful at modifications for injuries, which I'm unfortunately familiar with right now. (And for the busty ladies like myself, low-impact means an opportunity to wear those cute workout tops that you'd risk bouncing out of while running. Woo-hoooo!) 3. Coach participation. When the sweat is dripping down your face and your arms and obliques are begging for a break, and the instructor is telling you "one more inch" or "go slower".... you do it. When they call you by name, you really do it! The instructors also count down time left in an exercise or in class, and just motivate you along the entire way. Different coaches definitely have different styles, so I'd recommend giving a few a try if you don't jive with one. Melissa, Damon, and Ashley are a few of my favorites. If I had any constructive feedback, I'd say that it can be overwhelming for first-timers to jump into the moves. The new 101 classes are a great idea to help with this. But after just a couple of classes, I was able to start remembering the most common moves on my own. And yes, it's expensive, but so are a lot of things worth doing. I'm a huge fan and will definitely keep coming back! read more

[Solidcore] is by far the absolute best workout I have ever done. I put myself on a 60 day challenge to truly find out for myself if this workout is all it's cracked up to be. I was amazed at how strong my body became and how quickly it transformed into a very strong and lean shape. As an athlete, I haven't been able to find something that truly challenges me. I started going to solidcore last year in January as my curiosity was piqued after seeing my friend Arlene check-in on swarm so many times. I started off visiting the Shaw studio because that's where she went but when I moved back to DC in the spring, Mt. Vernon became my go-to studio. That being said, I have also visited both Bethesda studios as well as Adams Morgan. It's been said in every other review, but I will reiterate it again, solidcore is the hardest workout out there but it's also the best. And most importantly, it's the one that sticks. After my first class that snowy January night, I recall waiting for the metro and while I stood on the platform, my butt cheeks were shaking and I wasn't doing it on purpose. I knew I had just begun something great. I'd say most of the classes I've taken have started with holding a plank - so if you can't do that for more than a minute, work on that before signing up for your first class. Within those first 30 seconds of class, without fail, the thoughts in my head oscillate from "Yes, this is gonna be great!" to "OMG WHY DID I DO THIS AGAIN?" And then further along in class, it switches to, "Uh, is 50 min over yet?" to "Maybe they won't notice if I take a break?" and finally to "One day, I'm going to have abs!" So yes...50 minutes of slow-moving, body changing [torture]. From planks to crunches to lunges and squats and everything arms, the machine [lovingly known as Sweatlana, not "that medieval torture device"] will absolutely challenge every part of your body. You will be drenched in sweat, shaking, unable to hold yourself up, wanting to face plant into the machine, wanting to take that break...but you can't. You just have to keep going. You may have to yell. You may have to roll your eyes [guilty] as Coach Caitlyn calls you out for taking that break or coming down to your knees when you should be on your toes. You will be sore and have [muscle] shakes for days and swear you aren't going back... but you're wrong. You will. Because they will get you with a flash sale [I'm looking at you, 10-class Off-Peak Pack] and have you going twice a week every week. But you're in good company, because my fellow solidcore classmates are equally as inspiring as the instructors. As you drop down to your knees because you can't do just one more plank crunch on your toes, but happen to glance left and see them on their toes...you somehow muster the strength to do it anyway. Or you add that extra spring because they have one too. Won't lie... their classes are more expensive than I like to pay for my workouts but as I have a gym in my apartment building, I don't mind paying for a specialized class/instructor that I wouldn't have access to in a regular gym setting. That being said, since the off-peak pack is what got me hooked and I live close by, I now actually prefer those times and instructors [plus, the classes are cheaper]. But if you're on social media, they'll also run last min deals that are usually worth taking advantage of [as long as they don't coincide with my rent being due, ha!]. They do also have a referral program - I've invited [tricked? lol] 8 of my friends so far to try it out, 1 of which now goes regularly with me. Yeah, so the workout is tough which means if you're going to put the money and time into coming, you want to really like your coach because, well, they're running the show. Of the 50+ classes I've taken, I haven't had a class with a bad coach. They have the best people on hand to encourage you, push you, and help you across that 50 min workout finish line each class. As Caitlyn and Katarina teach some of the off-peak hours of torture, I have taken A LOT of their classes and I'm happy to say I also call them friends. Admittedly, I have some self-deprecating tendencies when it comes to body/weight-loss/workout and just having a chat with them before or after class has truly been something great to me. I have also enjoyed class with Ramona, Erica, Triana, and most recently Coach of the Year, Craig! Jacob's arms+abs class [Shaw] will crush you in the best way possible. And I actually took one of owner, Anne's [AdMo] classes when I was off of work one day. You can't go wrong with who you choose, really. To sum it up, I love solidcore because: It's literally changing my life [and I am going to find my abs this year]. read more

Best workout I have ever had! I consider myself in good shape (half-marathons, frequent runner, etc.) and I have never had such an intense and challenging workout. Not just the first time but every time is challenging and never boring. Awesome instructors (Anna, Erica, Craig) at this location. I consider myself a beginner after 12 classes and the instructors are very attentive ( adjusting students if you are not quite in the correct form or if you are a little confused) and encouraging (giving you a shout out if you are doing an amazing job or just pushing through the pain). I've been coming to solidcore classes at the Mt. Vernon studio for almost a year and can say with confidence it has completely transformed my body. I attend classes 4 to 5 times a week and still leave covered in sweat and all my muscles twitching. The workout is undoubtedly challenging, but the incredible coaches (who I now call friends) inspire you to put in 110% every single class. I never thought I would have this tone, definition and strength, but I can easily thank solidcore for that. While the workout is physically tough and pushes your body to failure, it forces you to challenge yourself mentally as well. Realizing that my body is capable and that the only thing that's stopping me from pushing through the pain is my mind has reaped benefits in so many other aspects of my life. My coworkers and friends joke that a conversation with me will always shift to solidcore, but I think that's a huge testament to the incredible workout and the physical and mental benefits of sweating it out here. The music in the class is way too loud. The instructor sounded frazzled, disorganized, and unknowledgeable. I was placed between two veterans and I got the sense that neither of them knew what they were doing either. The teacher tried to describe the exercises using words, but the class would've been 1000x better if she actually demonstrated it on a machine. Instead, you're left with someone trying to rush you through a bunch of different positions and exercises. The worst part is that she called a single-legged deadlift a bulgarian split squat! Never have I ever seen a fitness professional refer to a bulgarian split squat and then ask that your front leg stay straight and that you hinge at your hip with your chest coming down towards the ground. I was beyond confused when she called it a bulgarian split squat but described a one legged dead lift. The instructor was mostly happy to ignore you and your form, so if she said to do push ups you were free to do lunges, *for the most part*. Occasionally, she would come over and try to get you to do what she was describing, but her hands-on assistance was so few and far between the class would've been better had she left me entirely alone and let me do whatever I wanted to do for that 60 minutes. Nothing about this class was enjoyable. It was not a good work out because she was talking so fast I couldn't process what she was trying to communicate. It was also difficult to hear her because of the extremely loud music. There is also no warm up or cool down component to the class, and there's no place for you to independently stretch before or after class, either. My mind is boggled that so many people enjoy this class. Crossfit, Urban Athelete, Core Power Yoga, Core Align at Toolbox, and pilates reformer classes are all better work outs and more enjoyable than this. I've been a client at solidcore since April. I have never been willing to pay for a workout, because I've always managed to workout at home and run, but I tried this once with my sister and got hooked. The change in my body is amazing and the entire community is so welcoming, coaches and clients both. I really love the solidcore work out and have found it to be an incredibly rewarding experience. I especially like taking Allison C-F's classes because her instructing style is very upbeat and positive, while still motivational and fun! I do find this workout to be a great balance of cardio and strength training. One of the great things about solidcore is that the coaches, while trained through an incredibly rigorous training course, walk around and are available throughout the class to help with adjustments. I do not consider myself an athlete and was persuaded by my roommate to try a class. Before taking a solid core class, I could not do a plank nor a push up, but as I gradually went to more classes, and with help from the coaches, I was able achieve these movements that I previously never thought I could! So if you're like me and don't have a lot of experience with strength training, don't let intimidation a get to you! read more

I typically do HIIT workouts at home. I love the energy and challenge. I started getting bored and began looking for an out-of-the-home workout alternative option and found solidcore. Being very comfortable with hard workouts and having marathon and cycling races under my belt, I walked into the class waaay too cocky. The class has been kicking my butt for the past month-and-a-half. Every class is different. Every teacher is different. But I always leave thinking to myself that accomplished something great, and how amazing I feel over my entire body. I did get discouraged at first, but i stuck it out and like around class 20 I started coming into class with more confidence and desire to push myself because I was becoming stronger and was seeing physical results. The friendliness and energy as soon as you walk in is awesome. I've never seen an instructor anything less than uber cheerful. It's great that they quickly learn your names and challenge you every single time. The happy personalities are contagious to the class participants. I also enjoy the mints and hair ties :) I would say there I had a learning curve in understanding how to use the machine, understand what the instructors were saying on the mic, and getting the right technique. The one thing that gets to me is the cost. I have purchased monthlies so far, and the best way to rationalize the cost is to come at least three times a week, which I guess works out to my benefit. :) But if you try the class once you'll probably be like me and find ways to make it work! I wanted to write a quick review about this gym, I have been to one class before about a year ago with a friend and I decided to go back... I think that was the first bad decision of the day... the gym did not impress me, the instructor was ok... the employees on the other hand were not the nicest. The class was a little underwhelming, I could have got a better work out with an insanity dvd. I probably will not go back another time. 24 hour fitness classes are just about as good. read more

Best workout ever. Coaches are extremely helpful and encouraging, but most importantly - challenging. My motto is, if I'm going to pay for a class, it better be hard and I better feel it afterwards. And boy do I! I use and strengthen different muscles every class, and feel like the strongest version of myself. The [solidcore] community is amazing as well- being in such a small class really allows you to meet wonderful people if you come often enough and are outgoing! Taking a class is always hard and a definitely a humbling experience- I have seen guys in amazing shape who really struggle! But the feeling of accomplishment is well worth it! LOVE solidcore. As someone who considers myself in very good shape, I find it difficult to find workouts that challenge me. Despite going to solidcore for over 6 months, I still find each class just as challenging as the next, leaving me drenched in sweat. Damon and Megan are fantastic - love their energy and attention to form. Classes are killer, but the results are outstanding. I can't recommend it enough! read more
