I trained with Derrick for nine years. I believe he was starting out training when he was assigned…read moreto me at a gym. Over the years, his skill developed so much so that we could go two months without repeating the same exercise. He had a good combination of Isometric, weight, training, cardio, and help with nutrition to ensure that I would reach my goals. I've consistently said that he's the best trainer I ever had. Not to throw shade on the others, but to acknowledge his creativity, patience, and astute observation of my abilities. Somehow he could sense whether, when I said I couldn't do anymore, I was bluffing or I genuinely couldn't. I would recommend Derrick to anyone who is looking for a trainer no matter your level of experience. You won't be sorry you chose him.

I came across Derrick's website during a late night scroll one night and reaching out has been the…read morebest decision I've made in my fitness journey. I started working with Derrick this October, and have been pretty consistent on coming in 2 days/wk. When I started I was at around 17% body fat, relatively low daily energy and definitely not the best shape of my life. Today, I am down to 7% body fat in less than 2 months of working with Derrick and feeling better than ever. The training is a pretty good mix of traditional exercises and what I would best describe as "Derrick Specials". You will work muscles you've never paid much attention to and will definitely be a bit sore afterwards but it's all worth it. Just from the 2 sessions a week and following the diet plan set out by Derrick, I was able to max out the push-ups/plank in my Navy PRT and decrease my run time by over 1 minute. In these 2 months of working with Derrick, I've seen immense progress and have really never felt better in my own body. If you are struggling to find the right fit in DC, definitely give Derrick a try, I promise you won't regret it.

My favorite longtime gym in DC! I've been a member for several years and this year hit my 400…read moreclasses milestone -- figured now was a good time to finally leave a review. Fit360 is a great model of a community gym -- the staff is friendly, the owner is a local, and fellow gym goers are courteous. I am someone who benefits from classes to help me push myself and I especially love their lift classes, which are typically small (under 10 people) and mixed gender, with varying levels for each station based on your fitness and expertise. Jonathan and Nino both do a great job as instructors helping with form and technique. This year I also added in some personal training with Kwame and it has been fantastic so far. So glad this gym is part of my community.

I would have definitely signed-up for their premium membership has I known that this type of…read moremembership provides nutritional counseling. I'm actually paying for a separate Nutritionist who I visit about every month. I started here about two months ago, and I've been much more committed this time around. It's even more motivational that the gym.is located literally across the street from my apartment. It's a decent gym and they have almost everything that I need, minus the abs machine. I do have the Gold membership and I think that it's a good fit for me since I rarely have ever participated in any type of gym class. They do offered the classes here, and I've seen a number of people leaving from a class. I appreciate that the gym is available for whenever I need it, and even more importantly that they're located so close to me.

I recommend UP in general and Zach in particular. UP is different than other gyms to which I've…read morebelonged. You come in at specific times to work with your trainer doing specific lifts; the focus is on lifting rather than cardio. I wasn't sure about the approach as my primary goal was fat loss, but it has both been successful and gives a great return on investment of time. The gym itself is better equipped than any facility I have seen, and the UP app is been helpful in tracking nutrition and workouts. But I think their trainers are the key. I started working with Zach last summer, and have been very happy with the results. I've lost over 30 pounds and have never been stronger. He is a great resource regarding technique in lifting and motivation during sessions, but also makes them enjoyable. Zach developed and adapted workouts and nutrition throughout, modifying to help me continue making progress, and helped me understand nutrition (which I thought I did before, but didn't). The program at UP worked better for me than anything else ever has, which I find remarkable as I am in my 50's with a busy life including job, family, and travel.

I cannot recommend UP highly enough! Your personal trainer and the entire UP team are focused on…read moremaking sure you achieve your goals. As a repeat customer, I can say that Zach has been an amazing guide and partner to help me achieve results that I haven't had since I was in my 20s. I signed up for the one week trial and had a great time! I was only able to attend four classes,…read morebut enjoyed each one. The instructors were really helpful and gave me some modification options. It would probably help to have some background knowledge of common lifts, but the instructors show the movements and they play on video screens if you need it. Everyone attending was generally in their own zone, so there isn't a lot of chatting because you really focus on getting the exercises done in the set times. I will say that the classes go by super quickly because you're always moving. Cons: The programming is set for the whole month. So each day of the week has its set program and you do that each week for the whole month. For me, this would get old (I really need variety). On the plus side, it does mean you get to see active gains throughout the month. The membership plan is a little pricey. I get why it costs so much, since they do have to cover rent and you only really attend during the class sessions. It isn't a type of gym where you just drop in when you want to use certain equipment. The unlimited monthly membership is $299, but in reality you are getting 30 or 31 classes depending on the month. Since the classes are the same all day, it is unlikely you would do two classes in a day, right? So the pricing is about $10/class if you do the unlimited monthly pass and you go every day. Some of the equipment was pretty smelly. I was at one station that honestly made me gag a little... I think the bench or maybe the dumbells had never been thoroughly cleaned with a bleach solution.

Always a great workout, well maintained facilities and the community is great. Highly recommend.read more
