I am extremely disappointed with how my project and subsequent payment dispute have been handled. The work at my home is not complete. This is not simply my opinion--the company acknowledged the outstanding work in writing. I received a message confirming that they still needed to return to install the laundry top/sink and finish the quartz on the kitchen countertops near the window area. There is also a carpet issue that a representative said he needed to personally inspect. Despite these outstanding items, I received a phone call demanding payment and was told that a lien could be placed on my home. I found the tone and manner of that conversation disrespectful and completely inappropriate, particularly when I was trying to address the fact that the work remained unfinished. What is especially frustrating is that I had already communicated with multiple people from the company regarding the incomplete work and payment. Rather than simply completing the remaining work and resolving the billing issue professionally, the situation escalated into threats concerning my property. After the call, I requested copies of all signed agreements, invoices, change orders/authorizations, an itemized accounting of the amount allegedly owed, and documentation supporting the charges. To be clear, my dispute is not about refusing to pay for properly completed work. My concern is being pressured for payment while the company's own written communication confirms that work remains to be completed. I have retained the written communications, voicemail, photographs, and other documentation regarding this matter. I am also escalating my concerns to company leadership and filing complaints with the appropriate consumer and contractor oversight organizations. I would have preferred for this to have been resolved professionally and directly. Unfortunately, my experience thus far has made that impossible. I will update this review if the company completes the outstanding work and resolves the billing dispute appropriately. read more

I had a major sewer problem which caused the Great Flood of the summer of 2024,(what I call it). My insurance company recommended Solid to dry out the house, and rebuild it after the repair. They also recommended the Plummer who solved the problem JeffBingham was my Project Manager, and kept in contact, returned calls and visited the site for two months to make sure the job was done correctly. We had a drain leak that went in the wall behind our cabinets. We hired another company who came in and removed two under counter cabinets and located the leak. After hiring a plumber to make the repair I contacted Solid Restoration based on Yelp reviews. They were very efficient and professional. They also damage my floor and refrigerator, and when we confronted them they denied it. We have been waiting for almost 2 weeks for a call back with no response. My experience stands. I notified your company before you sent techs out to prepare for mold. And yes, Matthew found mold on the initial visit, not later as you suggest. (I am puzzled why you would claim you didn't find any "initially" as your techs only came that one time.) Also puzzling is if your company is qualified to remove it, why didn't Matthew do so? Instead he taped it shut and left. In fact he stated, "We are not qualified to do more than 10 sq feet," but he would "work all night to get someone". I assumed he meant Solid was not qualified. However, if he personally was not qualified, why did you send him to begin with? I told Cecilia upfront to be prepared mold. Regardless, Matthew did not make good on his promise to provide someone to remediate mold. So I followed up the next day with him on who was coming to remediate; he ignored my texts and calls all morning. He only responded when I said I would call the office directly. Then he immediately responded saying Cecilia in the office would handle it. She never contacted me to send anyone so I cancelled. Lastly, I am not sure why you are complaining it took 3 weeks (actually 2 1/2) to get your equipment, claiming I was inaccessible. First, I was always accessible by phone. This episode occurred the week before Thanksgiving and we had to coordinate the entrance of a new company before we removed your equipment. The week of Thanksgiving you chose not to come which is fine. Second, I am sure you billed and received compensation from my insurance company for equipment rental for the entire time. I have documentation of everything I have stated. I have photos of the dirty HEPA filter and cords running through the "containment area" rendering it pointless, and text between Matthew and myself. I sent a copy of the photos alomg with a letter to my insurance company. You can get it from them. The pity is this all could have been avoided if you sent qualified techs out to address the mold to begin with. And not having done so, then adressed it and apologized. I felt like I was not taken seriously by your company to send the appropriate personnel, outright lied to by Matthew, and exposed to harm by your company's failure to properly contain the area. read more

I was referred to Solid Restoration by my insurance company for repairs due to a flood from a pipe leak in a common wall between 2 units. I had a very prompt response, evaluation and was quoted a 2 week start on the project with a 4 week completion. The projected started on the agreed date, and was completed in 17 days, 3 days LESS than quoted. The work done was perfect and the people used were always on time or a few minutes early. They offered some suggestions on the kitchen redo and the installed flooring turned out perfect. I had dry wall damage that needed repair as well. They cleaned up each day before leaving and made sure I could get my car in the garage each night. I had anticipated a much longer process in restoring my unit so I was very pleased with the time frame and the completed work. read more

There was no communication, blatant dishonesty, disrespect for my family and property, sloppy work that had to be re-done multiple times, unprofessional unskilled workers and their disorganization was staggering. They did add-ons before I agreed on a price or signed a contract. My insurance co gave me the original recommendation but couldn't help when the problems began. We agreed to have a Better Business Bureau mediation to work out a settlement but before they scheduled it, they put a lien on my property. I am so disappointed I put trust in these people. I have almost 100 photos. Consider using someone else because I can't see any scenario this group could complete a project properly. Communication was horrible. Made a deal for workers to start on a Monday, shook hands but Allen somehow wiggled them out of not working on Monday without my notification. He wasn't great talking to as well on the phone and decided to hang up on me while I was talking. The work was OK. I could've painted the walls Myself without leaving streaks or extra paint globs on the wall. I pretty much signed the completion of work just to get them out of here. Wasted a Saturday where I had plans because they said it would take 8 hours to take down one side of a room but only took them 2 hours. Overall, a week, if not less than a week, job took 3 weeks to do. Pretty sure the owner's going to hear and side with the different story but I'm telling it how it went down. read more

At first I was skeptical about the work that was being done in my home because there was a lot of confusion as far as communication was concerned however after voicing my concerns to Paul the General Manager (I believe that is his title) things turned around! Oscar and friend did a magnificent job on a water damaged ceiling. Not only did they do an excellent job restoring our ceiling, they also diligently / carefully cleaned our walls, carpet, etc.. Needless to say the team was very efficient and finished in a timely manner. Oscar and Alfredo were so efficient at putting the house back together after our washer, on the second floor, decided to malfunction causing damage to both floors and garage of our house. This review is in response to one of my tenant reviews on 6/21/19 in Imperial Beach. The tenant claimed Solid Restoration took longer to complete work, there was communication issues and the tenant wasted a Saturday. First of all this took a while to complete the mold damage repairs and it actually took 4 weeks to complete all repairs not 3 weeks like tenant stated. Unfortunately when you need 4 separate companies to come out and complete each stage, this process does not move along a fast as everyone would like, including myself. The 1st company was a water leak detection company, then Solid Restoration, then an abatement company and also a Lab company to test air quality. As far as the tenant saying Solid Restoration wasted his Saturday the tenant has the wrong company. That was the abatement company that stated they would need 8 hrs to remove old drywall and it only took 2 hrs, not Solid Restoration. Also Solid Restoration does not work on weekends. As far as the start date for Solid Restoration, the tenant had an appointment around lunch time and Solid Restoration did not want their employees waiting on tenant if he did not get back in time, so Solid Restoration scheduled start date the next day, Tuesday. Later I found out the tenant did actually get back on time Monday but due to he left the apartment and Solid Restoration cannot do any work on a unit unless someone is there and they scheduled start date for next day. Solid Restoration repaired two units at the same time. The other tenant stated Solid Restoration did a great job and was happy with their work. Overall I think everyone wished this process went a little smoother and faster but when you have a lot of different companies involved and you have down time for results to come back repairs only get completed so fast. Solid Restorations part actually only took about one week from start to finish since there were other companies that came in to do abatement and testing. I would definitely use Solid Restoration again if I had another water damage problem. read more

Ruben was extremely professional and he was able to quickly assess the damage and set up dehumidifiers and dryer fans to remedy the situation. We had a slab leak a few weeks ago, and the insurance company recommended Solid Restoration (SR). We have never had an insurance claim before so this was our first experience. The restoration process is in two parts, EMS (Emergency Management Service?) and Restoration. The first part deals with the leak, and the second part restores your home. For the EMS part, the plumbers arrived within 2 hours of the insurers contacting SR. The leak was repaired expertly on the first day, and the demolition (removing all the damaged material) was completed over the following two days (Fri, Mon). However, between the EMS work and the restoration, SR seems to have dropped the ball. We waited for 3-4 days for a plan, a response to emails or text, but in the end we had to call the insurers to get things going again. After that, work proceeded according to plan. Anyway, Enrique was assigned to work on-site and supervise each of the contractors, with Duncan as the project manager. Duncan was excellent - attentive, supportive, informative and very helpful. I soon forgot about the transition problems. The restoration team (Enrique and a couple of others) exceeded my wildest expectations. We've had many contractors over the years, but his (and his team's) attention to every detail was quite extraordinary. Whether it was the cabinets, flooring, painting, dry wall, or whatever, every activity was completed perfectly i.e. like new! So, there may have been a couple of bumps in the process, but the final outcome was outstanding, hence the five stars. In the end, you forget about the process and just get to enjoy the final product. Thank you! read more

Solid restoration was contacted by my insurance company to respond to a flood in our laundry room. The cleanup crew was there on time the next morning and was professional, friendly, and efficient. My experience with the restoration was not as positive. Although all damage was documented on a Sunday, I had not heard anything from the company as of that Friday. I contacted my adjuster and got a call from the company that night. They committed to send me an estimate that night. As of Sunday I had still not heard anything and messaged the project manager. He responded that I would hear back on Monday. Nothing on Monday so I contacted the insurance company again. Finally on Tuesday I received a copy of the quote that was sent to the insurance company. After they had missed 3 commitments to get me an estimate (their dates, not mine) I was uncomfortable with the contract that they were asking me to sign. It states that if the client decides not to complete the work with Solid Restoration, the full amount for the job is due, plus a 25% penalty. I don't know if this is legal, but I am not comfortable committing to use a company that missed its own commitments 3 times and was trying to contractually lock me in to them with no recourse. If the restoration side of the business was as responsive and professional as the cleanup, my impression would be very different. If you are thinking about using Solid, please read the onerous contract very carefully and be sure you are comfortable signing away your customer rights. read more

I am very impressed with the level of service we have received from Solid Restoration. Starting with Christine in the office who was extremely quick and efficient with communications and response. We had a flood over a year ago and Solid swooped in and took care of everything. We have had problems with the flooring installation that Legacy flooring put down. Legacy put the repairs off and basically did not respond until Solid stepped in and action Was taken. We again are having issues with our flooring.I made a call to Solid and they were Out here within a few days and corrected the problem.Solid restoration stands behind all of Their work regardless of the subcontractors they hire to do certain jobs and when the job was completed. There aren't that many honest and reputable restoration companies out there that You can trust and rely on to get the job done right and in a timely manner.Solid Restoration Is a trusted company and I highly recommend them if you ever have a flood in your home.
