Now I will say that the work done was satisfactory but the scheduling was not. We had a house fire and the repair/renovation 16 months. There were many weeks at a time where there was no activity at our house. We were staying in a rental house. The fire occurred at the end of September, 2023. Completion was scheduled for September 2024. we were notified that the September date would not be made and would have to be extended into October. We notified the landlord we would need to stay an extra month and was told "no problem" The same scenario happened in October. In November, we were informed that they would not be finished and would need to extend into December. The problem there was that they did not notify us soon enough so when we talked to the landlord, they already rented the house out to someone else. We ended up having to move into a hotel. When we asked to have our hotel expense reimbursed, our insurance company refused to. When we inquired as to why they will not reimburse us we were told that Renovation Pros said the delays were our fault. We are out several thousands of dollars of hotel expense and are still trying to recover that. That is very dishonest. We would not recommend this company at all.

I can't think of anything more stressful than coming back from a catastrophic fire in your home…read more The first thing you might realize is that your insurance company is not on your side. Potential contractors show up, and many of them are disturbingly excited by your disaster. You may begin to wonder who you can trust. You can trust Team 1. Marshall and his team have decades of experience. Like every house, there were things in ours that are unusual, and because of his experience, Marshall went nose to nose with the adjuster to make sure we received everything that was due us. The difference between what the insurance company offered and what Team 1 helped them understand they needed to cover was already worth thousands of dollars before the work even began. You are going to face decision fatigue if you have to rebuild your home. What type of faucet? What finish? Paint? Appliances? One day I was on the phone with Team 1's design team for most of an afternoon. I hung up and collapsed, they carried on with another client as far as I know. We had some pretty clear ideas of what we wanted when the job was done, and it meant extra work for both of us. Kristi took our requests in stride, and more importantly let us know when what we were thinking about was not wise. She offered alternatives that made sense, and if we still wanted what we wanted, she helped make it happen. They were clear, frequent communicators in a process that took over a year. Things are going to go sideways sometimes, things no one anticipated are going to blow up. Team 1's experience minimized these inevitable events, and they were gracious and patient when we struggled to understand. At one point, the pandemic made it nearly impossible to source something very important to our satisfaction. In a meeting where I think I went full Karen, Marshall kept his cool, and, even though he didn't have to, they fixed it for us. Team 1 has old school integrity and customer service. You will not do better. During the final walkthrough our fatigue was showing. We noticed every tiny little thing. They wrote it all down, touched it all up. There was even a problem we discovered after move-in that no one anticipated - it was unclear if it was related to the claim. Marshall had his guy go look at it. He explained the process and alternatives if the problem turned out to be extensive, and when it was minor, he went ahead and had his guy fix it for us. The house is beautifully restored. TLDR: These guys are old school awesome.

Initially, a remediation company had come out and told me I'd have to rip out the cabinets due to water damage. I wanted a second opinion, so that is why I reached out to Matt. It was a pleasure speaking with him, for he is very knowledgeable of water damage. Matt really calmed my nerves. Our appt time was 9AM, and about a couple minutes after, I see his car pull up. I love when people show up on time. I've had bad experiences in the past where I sit, look out the window, and just wait for someone to show up at the scheduled time. Matt showing up on time really impressed me. He looked at the areas where they may be damage, and didn't find any moisture detected. He couldn't guarantee that there wasn't some water damage to where a drain leak was, but reassured me that at least inside the cabinets, and on the drywall, there was no damage. He was patient in answering my many questions, and made me feel more at ease about the situation. He asked that I send pictures of what's behind the stucco, once the plumber cut into it to fix the pipe, and that he would then give me a recommendation on how to proceed from there. I joked and told him hopefully I won't need to use his services, but if the worst case scenario became a reality and I did need the cabinets removed and drywall replaced, I know Matt would be the first and only person I call.

I wanted to provide an update since the owner's response below does not reflect what has happened…read moresince my original review. The company stated that the waterproofing work was completed and documented. However, after that response was posted, new leaks continued to appear, including leaks in areas that had never leaked before. Additional damage occurred to my home, including hardwood flooring and interior finishes. The company also stated that it does not reinstall unsafe components. Yet I personally documented damaged and broken pillars being reused, and multiple workers told me they had objected to reusing them. Most importantly, the company has since involved its insurance carrier regarding the conditions and damages at my property. Their insurance consultant inspected my home on March 18, 2026. If the work was completed properly and there were no issues related to the project, I find it difficult to understand why an insurance claim was necessary in the first place. Since then, I have been repeatedly told to wait for the insurance process. Months have passed, no meaningful testing has been performed to determine the source of the continuing leaks, no repair plan has been provided, no leaking doors have been repaired or replaced, and the missing railings and pillars remain uninstalled. The most frustrating part is that my home is still left looking like an unfinished construction site while the company points to an ongoing insurance review as the reason for delay. I do not believe a homeowner should be expected to live with continuing damage and an incomplete project indefinitely while waiting for an insurance determination. I genuinely hoped this matter would be resolved after meetings with the company's ownership and licensing representative. Unfortunately, despite promises that things would move forward, very little has actually happened. I will continue to update this review as events unfold so that potential customers can make an informed decision.
