Sales person lied about the whole deal. First he said he could get a better deal on a used pedego and said there's a year warranty on said bike we also purchased a 2024 aventon sinch 2 and found a broken pedal he said he would change it. Three day later when we went to pick them up he said there's no warranty on the pedego and the aventon had a zip tie to hold pedal it has been over 4 weeks and still no pedal. Ceo will not return my call. How will that work if we need warranty work done, I will not use them. read more

So, my partner and I went to Solano Cycle Inc. which has an incredible inventory of rentals available. One-seat scooters, two-seat scooters, bicycles, baby carriages, little run about 4-wheel mini cars, both mobility, and regular wheelchair, and golf carts to name a few. We rented a golf cart and couldn't have been more pleased, not only with the golf cart but with their professionalism that made the rental transaction a pleasure. This is the worst business model I have ever encountered. We rented a scoot Boot and proceeded to lunch downtown St. Augustine. After touring the town headed for the beaches. From the time we first started riding it the ride was very sloppy. Had to push it twice because the turning radius is near 20 feet and there is no reverse. As we were on the main road in the front end started to shake violently and the passenger side went down on the front. Several cars were behind us so we had to get out and push the thing off the road. After trying to restart it, there was nothing. Called into the office and they told us that we had to wait for the tow truck and maybe they would give us a ride back. Or we can get an Uber and they would reimburse us but we would be responsible if anything happened to the " Abandoned" Vehicle. Keep in mind, it's 96 degrees and the road heat. We get an Uber back. We get into the office and it's like no big deal. They did give me money back for the Uber and 1/2 hour. I paid that in cash. And asked for my cc slip ( they still use old card machines) and I didn't want the volume left where my AE card could be exploited. I was told no. They were keeping it until the car was returned and threatened that any damage that was caused for being left would be up to me. Nope. Not happening. Got the owner one the phone and his reply other than we gave you a break was I was interrupting his only day off. I told him I would dispute any charges on my AE card as well as write several reviews. He clapped back that he has a recording of the call and that I was irrational. Not a problem. Put the recording up and he won't be able to deni the horrible service you can expect doing business here.. You were warned.. read more

Worst buying experience of my life. They either avoid calls or flat out lie. After 2 and a half months of problems every single step of the way they have now taken so long to deal with the tags for the bike that I have expired temporary plates on the bike and they are simply stringing me along with lie after lie of when things will be taken care of. A month ago, it would be all set in a few weeks. A week and a half ago after not hearing anything from them, I called and they said Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. No call this week. Called them Friday. They were "picking up the tags this afternoon, come to the shop first thing tomorrow." Stood outside until they opened the doors at 10:15 (supposed to open at 10) and they still don't have them, come back later. Absolute garbage business with people who don't care a single bit about customers, do absolutely nothing to make good on their end, and simply are the most unreliable, dishonest business I have dealt with to date. We rented a scoot coupe for two hours and it was super fun! It takes a bit of getting used to since it has motorbike steering and power (not gas pedals), but we had an absolute blast. Two things to know: the turning radius is very wide, so you can't make sharp turns. Also, it does not go I. reverse but if you get stuck, it's light enough to move by hand. The gals that work here very friendly and helpful and made sure we got the color couoe we wanted. Highly recommend for two hours to explore the smaller streets and neighborhoods in St Augustine. read more

Called to rent a handicapped mobility chair, they promised they would hold the on and only one they had for me. I showed up 4 hours later to find out they rented it to someone else. The women's response was sorry we were busy and the person I spoke to on the phone was new and made a mistake. Drove almost two hours to get here and I am left with no alternatives, they did care. Since I am handicapped it's really sad that they left me like this. They ended up giving me a cheap wheel chair and my wife and daughters had to push me around which was not easy on the cobble stone street. To top it off Reggie the person I spoke to that was holding the rental yelled at me when I calmly told him they screwed me. I never write reviews but this one was well needed. Be careful if you really need what ever you're renting from them because they may rent it to someone else. read more

Finally rented from this place second time we visited St. Augustine. I must say they were very accommodating to us because we are a big group. There were 9 of us and we wanted to try the go karts. Being that these carts are driving around everywhere I just had to convince my fiancé to do it with me the last day of our trip for our anniversary. We got there at 2:30 and got a cart (I called it the car from whoville.) We drove down to the beach and on our way back the cart died on us. We pulled over and called the store. They were quick to figure out what was wrong and where we were and came to pick us up in there truck. I can't remember the mans name but he was THE BEST! He was sweet, personable and incredibly helpful. They accommodated us for our lost time and hooked us up for the rest of the day. This was the best ending to our trip and thank you guys so much. Service is a joke! Took my scooter to have carburetor work done and it looks like they never took the carburetor off and bike runs worse than it did when I brought it to them. They had the scooter for about a month and my bill was $500. I asked what work was done and they couldn't tell me. The mechanic didn't give me a definite answer on what was done to rack up a $500 bill. I was told that they changed the fluids, new battery which I did not get and capped a vacuum line. They said it seems to be running better with the capped line. When I got the bike home I took it apart to look for work they have done. No capped line! No carburetor work was done and I was charged a ridiculous amount of money for my bike to run the exact same as it did when I dropped it off. You can buy a new scooter from this place but be ready to not be able to get it serviced anywhere! Once it doesn't run right you either need to do the work yourself or sell it for pennies. I will not go back to this shop and I highly do not recommend! read more

My husband and I rented one of the little cars for the day so we could cruise around St. Augustine. The car ended up having major problems and wouldn't drive over 12 mph. Mind you these cars are meant for driving on main roads. Apparently their mechanic had worked on this same car the day before for the same problem. We spent an hour puttering back from the Alligator Farm to the rental place to exchange the car for another one. We were promised an hour free (or hour refunded) since that's the time we wasted out of our day. It's been a month and still no refund. read more

On Halloween my family and I rented a golf cart to go trick or treating, this was our second time using the company. I was 8 months pregnant with twins and on modified bed rest, we had our 4 year old with us... and I didn't want to miss out on a Halloween with her so we figured a golf cart rental would be a great way to still go trick or treating just a mile away from the shop in uptown. First of all, we figured something was wrong because it smelled SO strongly of gasoline once we got going. It didn't feel safe. Within the first hour the golf cart was not starting. We could get it back on with someone pushing but eventually it was totally off in the middle of a neighborhood with no after hours number. The lights worked so we didn't think it was a battery issue, plenty of gas, and the red check engine light was on. We had strangers coming out of their home to try and help, people ended up helping push to a church sidewalk and we cut our 4 year olds Halloween early. We left several messages, not knowing what to do, took the keys and called an uber to take us to solano where our car was. Needless to say it was not the best Halloween.... Even with all that happening we would have been okay and probably rented from them again with good customer service because things happen, we're all human, and we understand... but weeks later we still keep getting the run around. Apparently only the owner can issue a refund or even talk to us about the issue and all the employees just say he will "call us back. They have our info". My husband has been into the shop MULTIPLE times to try and talk to someone and we've collectively called maybe 10 times in the past few weeks. One employee tried to blame us for the issue saying we probably were "stopping and going too much and that could flood the engine" to which my husband replied "well why weren't we told this? There was no safety briefing or anything. We are trick or treating obviously there is stop and go." And the employee said "yeah we should have told you." We paid cash so we can't dispute with our card. It wasn't even that much money, maybe $122 but it's the principal at this point. Will never rent from them again, horrible customer service and an owner that truly doesn't care about the people and just their money. 0/10 recommend. Go to the place on the corner of ice plant instead. read more

They, apparently, weren't looking for customers because his attitude turned us away from going through with the rental. My husband and I rented bikes here for a day, and we had such a blast that we considered renting a second day. The bikes aren't anything fancy. You have to pedal backward to brake, and there are no gears. However, they're cheap (we rented for half a day and paid around $10 each) and the best way to get around St. Augustine if you want to cover a lot of ground in a day. read more

This is a wonderful place to rent a scooter. Everytime I go to St.Augustine I rent one here for 2 hours. It is an inexpensive way to see the town and enjoy a nice ride at the same time. They do require a credit card that they scan and keep on file In case of any damages to the bike. They inspect the bike before you take it out and also let you ride around in a circle a few times to make sure you are comfortable riding the bike. They explain how to turn the bike on/off, where you can ride it etc.. You will need to return the bike with a full tank of gas. These things are great on gas and will not cost more then $1.50 (depending on the price of gas) for you to ride around on for 2hrs. If you enjoy riding scooters I suggest you stop here and rent one by yourself or with friends for a few hours. If you don't know how to ride but have a friend who does, they have double bikes where you can ride on the back. ** I have posted a picture of the bikes my brother and I rented in Sept of 2006** read more

My boyfriend went in to see if we could rent a scooter. They immediately refused him service because they didn't trust him. He then spoke about his past experience with bikes to reassure them he was trust worthy and this still refused to let us rent a scooter. One of the workers said we would just crash the scooter. They then offered to have one of the other workers teach us how to use the scooter but the other worker refused to work with us and teach us. They were overall very impatient, rude, and immediately refused us service for the fact being she profiled him as being non trust worthy. read more

DON'T GO HERE!! So my husband and our 7 year old son just rented one of their little scoot coups. In the middle of the drive it literally came a torrential downpour out of nowhere like I've never seen. My son and husband were literally stranded by the bay front which was flooded up to the seats on the car. Clearly that's dangerous for my family to be out in and it was lightening like crazy. The two men who were running the shop refused to come and pick up my family. Wouldn't even let us pick up one of the workers at the shop with our regular vehicle to bring them back to drive it back either. Literally told my husband he HAD to drive it back. They refused to bend whatsoever. This mama is PISSED. My husband and child could have been struck by lightening and killed. They were completely DRENCHED. These men had ZERO consideration for their customers' well being whatsoever. I am so mad I am shaking. Who does that? And you should have heard how they were speaking to us!! Unreal!! To say the least we are extremely upset and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. My son and husband is soaking from head to toe from this unexpected rain storm. So help me GOD if they get sick, their company will be hearing from me. What would they do in an event their vehicles break down in a normal weather situation? Just leave their customers stranded? And want to know what their excuse was for not going to get their own car? There were only two employees at the shop and one of them couldn't leave the other alone. Lol! And while they were saying that another employee walked in the door too. I mean it was a lightening storm and raining like CRAZY! Did they really think they were going to get customers that one or two employees couldn't handle during weather like that?! We rent a scoope car wich is fun to drive, a golf car (because we have a couple of people who can't ride, and two motorcycle one single (one person) one double (two people), golf car is cool to drive but the scooters are really fun In Saint Augustine. I will suggest to give to people a route to followed But is not a big deal because Saint Augustine is easy to go through. read more

I wish there was a zero star option. Worst customer service ever. Rude workers. The one older lady that works there was the worst out of all of the other workers. My friends and I asked if we could get different cars since the seats are wet and she said "I'll just cover them in trash bags". Even though there were other cars to rent. One of the cars was too slow and kept making noises, so we came back and they blamed it on us saying "you probably got water on the motor". Came back to return the cars and there was a car blocking our car. The only towing company was her brother that was two hours away from the shop. There were no other towing companies to call? Finally other customers showed up. They didn't offer any discounts for all the inconvenience that happened. They weren't even nice about it. Worst place ever. read more

I paid $8,000 in merchandise on December 6th. Here it is Feb 19th. They gave me all my items rusted up broken plastics dents all over it and more. They been telling me they'll fix it. 2 1/2 months later nothing fixed always dodging my calls. $8,000 in garbage. Worst company I ever dealt with by far. Update it's now May 18th and still waiting warranty is up and my kids Christmas is still not working. read more

I take my personal scooter here for service. Steve the service manage is super helpful. I liked that he definitely did not push any unnecessary service. They have a nice selection of scooters for sale.... From cheap Chinese scooter to high end $7000 models. Along with the accessories (helmets, etc). A big chunk of their business looks like it come from the rental of scooters. They have a bunch for bunch in all shapes and sizes. It's a good way to see St. Augustine, as the streets are often very narrow. read more

Purchased a Trailmaster blazer 200r for my 9 yr old son for Christmas in 2018. It was really fun the 3 times he got to ride it. I purchased a new battery because the installed battery would not charge. After putting the new battery in it still did the same thing. Solano Cycle advised me that they would be able to pick the go cart up from my home soon. 2 months later they picked it up. It took them 6 weeks to receive a part that was under warranty. They brought it back to me it cranked but died 1/2 block from home. We had to push it home once again. I contacted Solano Cycle the same day it was delivered. After several conversations they stated that they now before it is the carburetor. It was suppose to be picked up 3 weeks ago. I believe my go cart is defective. My advise if you are looking for an Atv purchase elsewhere. They are just servicing the tourist industry not locals. read more

Never ever ever put your bike on consignment with these folks. They charged me $387 on a $1550 sale for items I never agreed to or foresaw. The added accessories that I never authorized or asked for and charged me for a new license plate - even though there was already a valid one on the bike. Oh and then there were those mysterious "processing fees" on top of their already steep 25% commission. I of course only learned about this when the check they cut to me was markedly less than I had agreed to over the phone. To repeat - never consign anything with these folks unless you'd like to get hosed. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE OR RENT ANYTHING FROM THIS SHOP!!! I just went through a complete nightmare with this shop. I purchased a brand new 2013 Kymco Like 50cc 2 Stroke Scooter. I paid close to $2300 cash for this scooter. I was happy with the scooter until I came in for routine service to have the restricted jet removed and the unrestricted jet it came with installed. It has not run right since. I have had it in their shop 4 times and they could not fix it. First it was shutting off when I break, then sporadically it wouldn't start when cold. The last time it was in for these problems, it sat untouched and getting rained on every day for 6 days. It started showing rust in a few areas because it was left in the rain. The service manager, Tom, seemed incompetent to me and the Store Manager, Peter, acted concerned but never seemed to do anything about my brand new scooter being broken. Both would tell me things that contradicted each other and I caught them both in lies. They both at one time or another said they already spoke to Kymco and indicated that Kymco will do nothing about this. A few days later, I called Kymco for the first time myself and they indicated that just earlier that morning, they had spoken to the service manager for the first time in regards to my scooter. Yet three or so days earlier, the said they spoke to Kymco. They never called to give me updates. I always had to call them and they seemed to be caught off guard every time. Almost as if they hadn't done anything and didn't know what to tell me. I requested to talk to the owner, Martin Solano, but they refused to give me his contact info and said they would have him contact me. He only contacted me via email after I emailed him first with all the problems I was having and after I called Kymco USA to report the issues. After all the time and money I spent and all the aggravation I had with his managers and the product his shop sold me, he still has not had the decency to pick up the phone and speak to me. It has been my experience that the only time you will be cared for as a customer in Solano Cycle of St. Augustine is if you are spending money. But if you have a complaint or problem with a faulty product, they will give you the run around until you give up. This was the third new scooter my family has purchased from this same shop. Its the last time anyone from my family will ever buy from this shop again. read more

Terrible customer service. I called ahead to see if they fix razor electric scooters . They said yes and said $35 to look at it. If I get it fixed then that money goes towards the part. Well I drive all the way there and the lady says they don't fix razor scooters that they are too difficult to fix. I told her I called the day before. Her response is some new guy answered the phones. Why is a new employee answering phones and questions when he doesn't know what the company does or doesn't do??????
