Chris and Annette at Island Life are amazing. I reserved a tricycle with Alexis a week in advance of the MS Walk. Paid by phone which was convenient. Got to the store today (3/28/26) and the tricycle wouldn't fit in my Highlander. For a small fee, Annette and Chris delivered the tricycle to the Walk site and then picked it up once I was finished. I don't like to write negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. The staff was polite, but unfortunately the bikes were very disappointing. The battery on all three bikes died after only about 3 hours on a full day rental, cutting our ride short. The purpose of the rental was to enjoy time with my son, but instead he had to ride his bike without battery support for 4 miles back to the shop. When we returned, Stephen apologized, but there was no offer of compensation or real concern shown for the situation. What should have been a fun outing turned into a frustrating experience, and for that reason, I cannot recommend renting from this location. read more

We were asked to pay a $165 assembly fee. Found out later that the Lectric Trike XP comes fully assembled other than putting on front wheel and fenders which is a tool free job that takes about a minute. Why do so many businesses in Jacksonville lie to customers? I've never lived anywhere that this happens so frequently. I would order the lectric products online and do the assembly yourself. read more

My mom and I couldn't figure out how to put air in our tires with a new pump- we were struggling for like ten minutes lol brought our bike and the pump to the store and they were so so so kind! Immediately helped us, taught us to use it without judgement, and gave us a cap for the tire! Highly, highly recommend! read more

I rented a beach cruiser one April afternoon and wrote it down to Saint Augustine Beach. And actually rode it on the beach which was a lot of fun. Steve set me up and got me a bike, which was in very good condition. Only one speed through. I would've preferred one with a derailleur. The only ones they had were Road bikes with narrow tires and drop down handlebars. Not very good for the beach. E-bikes we're too pricey, $100 per day. read more

Awful staff. My 2nd time trying to get a inner tube replaced on my e-bike. We don't do that unless you purchase from us, so I take the wheel off my bike then they did it. My 2nd visit was even worse. I carried my wheel there. And this time they would not even put the inner tube in for me. I told them they did it before. This time they said" we don't bikes unless you purchased it from us." It's not like I wanted them to fix a e bike. Just a inner tube They will neve get my business again I went out of my way just to get a tube replaced. read more

So they have bike rentals at a price that doesn't make you feel like you've been ripped off. I'm 6'5" and require a lot of trail bike frame and they had what they call the BBW. Perfect 1 speed Cruiser with h 5 in. Wide tires. I came back after 3 days of riding with low tire pressure and that service made me feel valued. A little more air and some lube on that chain I almost did 10mph! Cruise on in and Calista will take care of you. read more

Island Life has the best group of people around. We brought our new Specialized E-bikes from Wisconsin to Florida, and had an electronic issue with one of them in the first 10 miles. Specialized suggested we contact a local dealer to see if they could resolve the issue. Island Life handles Specialized bikes but not the E-bike versions, however they told me to bring it in and they would look at it. Not only did they look at it, they coordinated getting a replacement computer from Specialized in 2-days, and had it back to us the day they received the part. The went above and beyond what I would have ever expected, and I'm grateful that our new can use our E-bike the next 5-weeks of our trip! Exceptional and friendly service!!! read more

Camping at Anastasia RV park and went to ride the bikes around the camp grounds and my wife's tire was flat with a busted valve stem. Called Island Life to ask if they had tubes and they did. I was a little concerned as their website looked like they "only" rented bikes. Rode my bike there and back. Took the short cut through the AMP. Changed the tire and we were good to go. This place is an awful rip off joint. The owner, Dave Gebo, stole my classic Specialized StumpJumper mountain bike after I bought a new bike at his shop. He claims he "scrapped" my bike and cannot return it to me. I plan to litigate the issue but be warned. Do not use this shop unless we want to become victimized like me. read more
