Soon as I walked in the vibe was off no one was really welcoming. Just sitting on their bums doing nothing,I asked if they fix full suspension bikes They told me it was gonna take 4 to 5 weeks looking for me to basically just turn around and leave. That's the vibe I felt and I just would not recommend that to anyone island Life bikes is definitely the better choice way more welcoming and told me that it would only take a week for the repair that they didn't even bother to ask me. These guys are fantastic! I was looking for a knowledgeable bike shop that could help me with my unhappy bike. Calvin was awesome! He put on a new chain ring, new chain, tightened up my rear hub & tuned up my bike for less than $100 bucks. I'd put 0 stars if i could. Absolute rudest service ever. when the store first opened in a different location many years ago i went in to check it out. The owner was obnoxious and treated me as though i walked in on him on the toilet! I vowed to never subject myself to that again and i didn't till...a few days ago i went in there for a rim repair only being it was the nearest shop, another fellow was there who was even worse. Every negative thing i could ever imagine he was. It was 2:30pm he immediately got upset saying they closed at 4, saying i should of come earlier. When I began filling out a ticket he asked me to leave and said he'd even hold the door for me. So I said ok and left, he said "sweet" excitedly for me to hear as i left. I went right over to ISLAND BICYCLE and was treated wonderfully. I strongly advise anyone to go there. read more

I went here back in the day. I actually brought my tire in so they could give me the right tube. Well guess what the guy sold me the wrong tube. So after figuring out it was the wrong one I brought it back. My friend had given me the right tube in the meantime. Guess what they refused to return the tube. I had paid cash and it was the same person who gave me the wrong tube. I had the receipt. He pointed to the sign that said only exchanges or something. I think this should have been an exception given the circumstances. I haven't and won't ever return. read more

I recently had a flat tire on my bike, and for some reason, I could not get the tube changed out properly, so I decided to take it to the pros. I couldn't find any reviews on Yelp, but I did hear about Sprockets from friends, so I decided to give 'em a whirl, and I was very glad I did. It's located directly off US 1 (The address here on Yelp is incorrect, and I tried to have it changed, but I guess I don't know what I'm talking about), and it's a bit hard to get to the store itself, but you'll see it as you pass by on the highway. I dealt with two different workers there at the store, both of whom were very polite and helpful. I dropped my bike off, explained what I wanted done, and was told it would be done within a day or two. Unfortunately, they didn't have the tube my bike needed in stock, so it did take some time before they were able to get one shipped to the store, but they did call me on my phone to let me know everything that was going on, and as soon as it was done, they called immediately to tell me so I could come and pick it up. Overall, the repair work was very well done and exactly what I asked for, and at a pretty good price. If you need any type of repair on your bike, I highly recommend this place, even if you only have a flat and need a tube replaced. For about the same price you would pay for the tube at a store, you could have it done by the pros at Sprockets who will get it done correctly, and could almost always have it done in less than a day. The store also has a few bikes for sale and some bike accessories, and anything they don't have, they can get. I'm pretty happy with the work they did and the price I paid, and I will definitely be back for any other problems with my bike. read more

Obnoxious owner who makes you feel like you're wasting his time if he spends more than two minutes with you.

We brought our bikes in to Sprockets to get serviced on Tuesday May 22nd to be tuned up and repair a kickstand and handlegrips. We stated that we would be away until the following Tuesday and would like to pick the bikes up then and if there were any issues we left our cell phone for you to call. We were away an extra two days and we called on Thursday May 31st early in the day to see if we could pick them up as you are about 15-20 minutes away from where we live. You said that you did not have them ready and that it would be Friday. We picked them up on Friday (still no one called us , we had to call you) and the kickstand was not done, which we paid for and you said that you could not get it off, 15 minutes later you came out with the bikes and a new kickstand????!!!! My wife's seat was TOTALLY saturated and you said it was because you washed it? It is now Sunday and still not dry?? Did you leave it out for Beryl to clean? Also my wife rode hers for the first time today and it was unrideable as the brake rubbed to the point that it was loud and difficult to pedal. Did you not test and check this? We spent 120.00 for a tune up and parts for the bikes and they are worse off now than when we brought them in. Now, we have to make another trip to your store to have this repaired, wasting our gas and time. read more

My son had a flat tire replaced here. The day he brought it home, the tire popped. He took it back and they refused to replace it. I then called and spoke to the owner. He said that the flat was probably a pinch flat. I asked him to take responsibility and replace the tire since a pinch flat occurs when there is not enough pressure in the tire. He then changed his tune and said it was from aggressive riding. He continued to refuse to replace it and I expressed my disgust to him before hanging up. I took the tire to another shop to be replaced. When my son went to pick it up, the worker explained to him that the wrong type of tube was installed. These guys at Sprockets are ridiculous. Not only did they use the wrong part but they would not accept responsibility for it. read more

I went to Sprockets to have a tube changed in my tire. Was not impressed with the attitude. I paid $7.00 for the tube and $10.00 for the service. Put the wheel on my bike and the tire went flat after an hour of riding. I changed the tube and called to get my money back the next day. I explained that I had the tube and the receipt but since I no longer had the bad tube in the tire they would not honor a return even with the receipt as proof. I won't be back. read more
