    Brisket, Mac & cheese, cornbread

Really tasty. The person was so kind, helpful and funny. Stopped in for take out. We had brisket that had great flavor, Mac & cheese that was good with a little bit of a sharp cheese flavor, ribs that were tender and smoked just right and moist cornbread. There are about four sauces if you are interested, Texas style, mustard based, Mango Habanero, and a spicy sauce. If you are interested the neighborhood stop in for some tasty Q.

I heard solid reviews about this BBQ joint on Pittsburgh Foodies FB group so I decided that me & hubs had to try it. We came here on a Sunday & despite it being the end of the week & the end of the day, the food was still delicious. However, I will DEFINITELY come back earlier in the day. IThe dudes up front were super friendly & prideful about their menu. They suggested I follow them on FB to stay alerted on the specials. I'm so excited to come back because our meal was bomb. We opted for a platter of Brisket, Jerk Chicken & pulled pork with classic sides. The mango habenero sauce, mustard base sauce and sweet BBQ sauce were tasty. Love to support local small businesses like this.

Food is good. Definitely a change and a good choice if you want a nourishing meal made by someone else. Not processed or fried.

Absolutely disappointing! First of all, I should've known better than to get a Roti from a Jamaican…read morerestaurant in PITTSBURGH ! Roti's are primarily a Trinidadian / Guyanese dish which and is derived from their East Indian roots. However, being born and raised in NYC, the Jamaican restaurants knew how to properly make Roti, despite it not being their original dish. This was by far one of most egregious and disrespectful attempts at making a "Roti" I've ever seen. This place used store bought, soft taco shells, sprayed with cooking oil, and warmed up in a microwave. Roti flatbread cannot be substituted for any other kind flatbread albeit, Naan, Pita, or Flour Tortilla. It changes the flavor of the dish and renders it a completely different dish. Not only was the preparation of the "Roti" absurd, but the customer service was trash. I requested a copy of my receipt and the lady who prepared my food told me she would text it to me. Not only did she ask me to repeat my number numerous times, but she had 1 earbud in while she was taking my number. Therefore, she was not paying attention. After I inspected my food and decided to leave the restaurant, knowing that there was no use in trying to get my "Roti" order fixed, I realized I still didn't get my receipt. I returned to the front counter and informed her that I didn't get my receipt and she insisted that I repeat my phone number again, slowly. I complied, and as I sit here writing this review, I still do not have my receipt. I will say, all in all, aside from the ludicrous attempt at making roti by using store bought flour tortillas, the curried goat was actually good.

I don't say this lightly...this is the real deal…read more I'm originally from South Florida, and I've spent time in Jamaica, so I'm very picky when it comes to Caribbean food. I've had a lot of "close enough" over the years...but this? This is authentic. This is the kind of food that makes you pause midbite and just nod. Dalia's isn't your typical restaurant, and that's part of what makes it so special. It's set inside what feels like a home, and when you walk in, that's exactly the experience...you're not just a customer, you feel like a guest. It's warm, personal, and genuinely welcoming in a way you just don't find in most places anymore. And I have to say...everything is spotless. You can tell she takes pride not just in her food, but in the space she's inviting you into. And she carries that same care into the food. I've been here multiple times, and what impresses me most is the consistency. You know how some places wow you the first time, then slowly fall off? Not here. Every single visit, the food has been just as good as the last. That alone is rare. Now let's talk about the oxtail... Fall-off-the-bone tender, rich, deeply seasoned...but perfectly balanced. Not overly spicy, not bland...just enough heat to remind you you're eating proper Jamaican food. And unlike a lot of places, you actually get meat here. Generous, satisfying portions that feel like someone cooked this for you on purpose. The rice (and yes, it's seasoned beautifully...more like a classic Caribbean rice than traditional peas and rice) is the perfect base, especially when you ask for a little extra of that brown sauce over the top. Trust me on that. The cabbage has a nice little kick to it, cooked just right...not soggy, not raw. The plantains? Sweet, caramelized, exactly what you want them to be. And I have to mention the mac & cheese because it surprised me in the best way. Creamy, with a perfect cheese pull, but not heavy or overwhelming. It's balanced...comforting without being too much. One of the things that really stood out to me is the quality of the meat. I actually asked her about it, and she sources locally from a farm...which explains a lot. You can taste the difference. Also, pro tip: call ahead. Her food is fresh and made with care, and she does sell out. I usually let her know what day I'm coming and what I want, and she's always incredibly accommodating and kind about it. The first time I came, she even gave me a sample plate with a little bit of everything...and there wasn't a single thing on that plate I wouldn't order again. This place isn't just a restaurant...it's an experience. It feels like sitting in someone's home, being fed with pride, skill, and love. Honestly? It's a hidden gem, and places like this are getting harder to find. I'll be back again...and again.

Their menu changes seasonally, and it currently lists food such as fries, Cuban sandwich, chicken-tortilla soup, tagliatelle, flat-iron steak, and Hokkaido scallops. I met a friend here for one dinner. The setting was more on the casual side rather than fine dining. (I wore jeans and a blouse.) I have eaten authentic foods in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean, and I thought that the menu was slightly influenced by these regions. The waitress and waiter spoke nicely with us. Our dinner that included a BYO wine (with a $5 charge per person), appetizer, entree, and dessert lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes. The foods had strong flavors, and we both enjoyed everything that we ate. For appetizers, my friend and I shared the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, which also contained carrots, pecans, and a dressing, and the Hot Low Country Crab Dip, which contained a good amount of crab meat and was served with crunchy toast. For entrees, I ate the Cutler-cove Salmon, which was accompanied with asparagus, potatoes, and a spicy jerk sauce and habanero purée, and my friend ate the Arugula Salad, which contained fresh arugula, baby carrots, goat cheese, olives, and hot honey. For dessert, I ate the Kentucky Bourbon Cheesecake, which was topped with pecans, caramel, and whipped cream, and my friend ate the Maple Panna Cotta with raspberries.

Fast forward a year or so and much to my joy they announced via social media that they had stopped cooking out of their home and started a food truck! One day I saw that they would be on Larimer Avenue in the Larimer section of the city so I made my way there expeditiously as T.I. would say. LOL! I already knew that I was going to go with their Curry shrimp with cabbage and rice & peas! I also got a Tropical Rhythms Island Mango drink to wash it all down. A few minutes later I had my food and made my way home. You guessed it, expeditiously! LOL! As soon as I started to dig in I was taken back as I hadn't had Jamaican food this good since Mama Rose on nearby Mayflower Street in the late 90's! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and full of flavor! The cabbage was tender and the rice and peas were delicious as well! My food was so good that I told my wife about it and ended up going back the same day to get us their Jerk chicken for dinner. Unfortunately it was near the end of the night and they had ran out of cabbage, but gave us extra chicken which more than made up for not having anymore cabbage. The jerk chicken was absolutely incredible! Very authentic and just as delicious! Be sure to follow them on Instagram @caribbeanvybzllc to see where they will be next! I still can't believe that authentic Jamaican food like this can come out of a food truck!
