I don't even know where to start!! The beautiful aesthetic of the dining and bar area? The exceptional service? The incredibly delicious meals? It's a hip beautiful hidden gem in Woburn. Who knew that Woburn now has a restaurant that really should be located in any major US city certainly not a suburb of Boston. It's a really cool place with absolutely delicious food. I can't wait to go back!! Run there if you have a chance and most definitely make reservations! Buon appetit! read more

After going here once and being disappointed in the food (dry fish and chicken) we never thought to go back despite knowing many people who are regulars and really enjoy it. A friend gave us a gift card so we gave it another try and were once again disappointed. This time we tried pasta dishes and they were just so mid, lacking flavor and left us confused again. The eggplant appetizer was delicious but everything else we tried here was such a fail. The dining room is also very loud and our table was close to several others. Waiter was not attentive and we were just antsy to get out of there by the end of our meal both times. Would re-gift a gift card instead of going if we ever get another one... read more

Went for our first visit last night and was about a 40 min drive to get there so we were very hopeful based on reviews, photos and the menu.. but our experience was just "ok" Atmosphere is upscale, lots of glass and open concept. It's loud on a busy night, we were sat next to the kitchen and it was hard to hear our server and even have conversation at the table. Drinks were very good Food was a miss. The pork dish had a lot of fat, and was spicy for my mom. She didn't enjoy hers. My dad and I got the veal, he got a tomato risotto substitute for the mushroom and enjoyed it. I got the mushroom risotto that it comes with and it was undercooked, almost crunchy, and I kept getting overwhelming bites of peppercorn. I like pepper but not an entire mouthful. My wife had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. Our server never came back after we got the food to check in, or I would have asked to swap the risotto for polenta or something else, but by the time she came I had eaten about half the veal(the risotto was the problem not the veal). She asked if I liked the meal and I gave honest feedback but felt like telling if she came back earlier I would have gotten something else. Not after everyone was done their meal. If we lived closer we might give it another chance, but with so many restaurants out there we probably won't be back. I wish I tried the pasta instead read more

I'm not sure what happened to Sogno. I've been there on two previous occasions, and both were excellent. Everybody who had come with me on those occasions about the food, and I was excited to bring some new faces to the table. But I was let down. Let's start with the service. The service was a bit sporadic. The waiter was attentive at times and left us alone for too long at others. He came whisking in with still water and was filling everyone's glass like a bull in a china shop. When I had to stop him from filling mine to indicate that I preferred sparkling water -- it would have been nice to have been asked. He quickly departed to get the sparkling water and was gone for what seemed like five minutes before he came back, offered the sparkling water, and left again. By this point, we were certainly ready to order our drinks, but since he came and departed so quickly, we didn't have a chance. Later in the meal, between the salad and the entree, someone came to the table and for no apparent reason reset our places with bread plates. I was incredibly confused by this and decided it would be better if I collected up the bread plates and put them at the front of the table because I was quite sure our entrees would come out soon and if the bread plates were there, there would be quite the confusion while we attempted quickly to remove them so that we could eat. I was right because two minutes later, the entrees came out with no one around to remove the bread plates had we not done it ourselves. But let's get to the real disappointment, the food. The menu had gone through a bit of a change since the last time I was there. Prices had gone up a little bit -- that's par for the course these days. The entrees had also been switched up. Quite a few that I remembered were still there, and a few new ones were added, including a pork chop, which I was very excited about. I'll get to that later. Let's start with the pasta dishes. At the table, we had two tagliatelle short rib and one bolognese. I ordered the bolognese on tagliatelle because I much prefer that to rigatoni and they said that was no problem. Now this is an Italian restaurant, and for an Italian restaurant, you'd think they'd get bolognese right. Well, mine came out as a pasty, goopy mass of overcooked tagliatelle with a little bit of bolognese mixed. The sauce was entirely too thick, not enough meat, and overly sweet. It was terrible, quite frankly. I haven't had bolognese that bad anywhere, and for $33, you'd think it would be exceptional. The tagliatelle with short rib also was pasty with overcooked tagliatelle, and the short rib was shredded and unrecognizable. My preference would have been to see slightly larger chunks. Another at the table ordered the salmon. The salmon was fine, and he gave it would give it 3 out of 5 stars, no more. It was a little overcooked, but otherwise just OK. Now let's talk about the pork chop. The pork chop was in the middle of the menu and in the middle of the price range, and quite frankly, with the higher prices, you'd expect that the pork would have at least one side. In the menu, it listed no sides, and so we inquired about that. The waiter confirmed no sides with the pork. Now, every other side on the menu has sides. Even the filetto at $59 had two sides, but the pork chop had none. I think this is a terrible mismanagement of the menu. When you're getting a $52 pork chop, you should at least get one side, if not two, especially if everything else on the menu has its own sides. This isn't a steaks house after all. Well, my husband ordered it anyway with a side of fries because he really wanted the pork chop. He let me taste it. I would give the sauce on the pork chop 4 stars, but the pork chop itself was overcooked, and that made it tougher than I would have expected, especially for a restaurant at this price point. So there you have it. I'm not sure what happened. I'm hoping this was an off night, and that half the kitchen staff called in sick, and that they couldn't cope with the restaurant at full capacity. But when I think about the evidence, recently changed menus, happy waiters that didn't try to make any excuses, I have to think something else has gone wrong. Perhaps they have a new chef that doesn't know what they're doing. I don't know. Anyway, I would have to give Sogno 2 out of 5 stars. And the only reason it gets more than 1 is that the atmosphere is very nice, and the food all came out together. read more

Joe, all the way from Rhode Island to experience this restaurant. It was truly amazing from the moment I walked in and saw a Vespa in the vestibule met the owner, so friendly and amazing sad at the bar bartender Mike was the most cordial generous appeasing server we've ever had food was truly amazing. We had the rabbit tagliatelle cod risotto totally ridiculous drove an hour and 21 minutes to get here was worth every second. Totally vibrant atmosphere. read more

I can't say enough about the beautiful bridal shower that we hosted in the private dining room at Sogno. It is already our favorite restaurant so we jumped at the chance to host an event. The private room is gorgeous. It is elegant and classy and needs very little "shower" decorating. Flowers and a few personal touches were all that was needed to make it perfect. Liz the events manager was terrific. She was responsive and enthusiastic and gave us great advice about appetizers, the menu and the best ways to make the day perfect. I could not have asked for a more attentive and accommodating event planner. Thanks, Liz! The food and drink were wonderful. Everyone complimented the appetizers, meal and desserts. The cake was gorgeous. Most importantly our servers, Fadhil and Alexis were endlessly attentive. They catered to our every need without us even having to ask. The food and wine were flowing and for this Italian family it was a perfect family party without any of the work! You won't go wrong having an event at Sogno! read more

We have eaten 5 times at Sogno. First three times; delicious, great service. Then third time, not good- pasta way under cooked; pizza burned a raw in center, salad- way over dressed. Broccolini was covered in chili oil and garlic. $350 for two and not one dish tasted good. So went 5th time. It is close to Winchester, where I live. Great decor and service. 5th time- 6 of us; not one good meal. So disappointing. Consistency is so key, they must have labor issues- they started so strong, not sure what happened, the dishes are not consistent. Had a salad with kale, way over dressed, soupy and hot- first time I had it, it was cold and delicious. Cod, over cooked. Pasta so so, under cooked. Pork chop very over cooked, hard, flavorless. I hope they get the kitchen issues corrected. But $1000 down for two meals- not going back any time soon. read more

Food, drinks, and service were awesome! Would definitely come back and recommend to others!

Went to Sogno for a birthday dinner last night, it was a busy night, a lot of noises. Service was great and we got sat down right at our reservation time. Highly recommended to make a reservation ahead of time. We started the night with some drinks and apps - the espresso martini was so rich and creamy - I can go for 2 of those. We ordered the grilled octopus and truffle pizza for our starters - we loved both of them, there was so much flavors especially the truffle pizza, the braised short ribs paired so well with it. Me and my friend ordered a rib eye to share, on the menu it sounds delicious but when the plate came it look unimpressive - it would've been nice if it was paired with a side or potatoes of some sort. The steak was cooked to perfection but it was not the perfect piece of steak, there were too many connective tissue and it make it hard to chew. Also, the bone marrow on the menu sounds good but when I was eating the steak I can't really notice it other than the butter. My friends order the seafood arriabatta & roasted cod for their appetizer and it was much better. read more

The food is outstanding and they have the best bolagnaise I've ever had (after 2 trips to Italy). Service is always great and the ambience is also excellent. I travel 45 minutes to get here but I still find myself doing this bi-weekly. The restaurant is very upscale and feels very authentic but it is getting close to needed a renovation as it does feel a slight dated. A grand piano would also be a huge add if they ever wanted to step it up even more read more

This is the second time we've been to this establishment . We went with an other Couple service was again impeccable. Our waitress, Alexis was attentive and friendly. The food came up quickly. My son and I went to Sogno for Easter dinner. The Eastern menu had really great set of meals and the a la cart menu had great offerings, as well! I ordered the ten ounce fillet mignon and my son ordered the braised rabbit and gnocchi. It was delicious. The desserts were beautifully served and absolutely divine. The ambiance was awesome! I'm not sure if it was the owner or the general manager however, he came around to all the tables and even struck up a conversation with my son about his rugby jersey. It was such a special touch of service! We will definately be back! And I can't wait to tell all my friends about this place! read more

Sogno... what can I say. Just terrific. The service and attention was really nice. My wife and I were so impressed with the entire experience. It's rare that in an environment that is upscale that you feel so comfortable and welcome. Management and owner stopping by to say hello. Just a really great touch. My wife and I came here a few months back on a Saturday night. We were in town for a Friday wedding... seriously, who gets married on a Friday. I digress. Since we had no plans for Saturday, we decided to check out Sogno for a nice dinner. First we sat at the bar where Dan kept our glasses full with delicious drinks and our souls full of laughter and joy. He was on point. Being from New York, it was nice to find a Bostonian who respects Derek Jeter as much as I do. We were sad to leave the bar, but when we were seated at our table we met Peter. All I can say is WOW. Peter was incredible. His suggestions were spot on and the food was delicious. The staff was EXACTLY what I expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The next time we are in town we will DEFINITELY be back! read more

Good good. Bad servIce. The food was good, but the disappointing service ruined the entire experience. We usually go into the city for Italian, but heard great things about Sogno and we were looking forward to the night. our server's name was Anthony. To keep it short, not only did he look messy and disheveled but he was unfriendly and came across like we were a bother. He forgot an appetizer we ordered, and wasn't even apologetic about it, In fact he seemed annoyed we even brought it up. It's arrogant staff like this that can make or break a restaurant. It's a shame because we were really hoping this could be a regular place of ours. read more

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at Sogno. We used the private dinning area for approximately 40 people. The room, food and service was exceptional. All of our guests left very happy from their meal selection from Caesar Salad, Filet Mignon, Roast Cod, Tomato Burrata salad, lasagna and Tiramisu in addition to other selections. The most popular drink was the Espresso Martini. Elizabeth, the event coordinator was so helpful in planning our event. She made sure everything went smoothly and was there the evening of our event. Thank you for a memorable evening. We have been to Sogno with 2-4 people and ambiance was pleasant with comfortable booths. One of the wait staff we had several times was Bob. Food was good tasting, but I could tell the dish had been sitting premade bc the pasta was chewy. Food came out quickly, but server basically ignored us after that. I had ordered a drink, but didn't receive it until I was done eating and ready to leave, so told the server I didn't want it anymore. There was no apology for such awful service when the server realized he had messed up. Large table next to us received excellent service the entire time we were there. We also had a couple managers walk by and not stop, just smile, when we were clearly trying to get the attention of our server. so disappointing. read more

The food is amazing. Seriously better than most Boston restaurants. The staff was polite and accommodating. It's really nice to have something this good within a ten minute drive from my house. I have had the pleasure of dining at Sogno four times now (I keep going back!). As soon as you enter, elegance and class come to mind. The date appetizer special was incredible. The pizza is authentic to what you would have in Italy. The pasta dishes are generous servings yet light and flavorful (the orecchiette and bolognese are delicious). My two favorite dishes however are the bistecca florentina and the arugula salad. The steak was hands down the best cut of meat I've ever had and cooked to perfection. The dish is meant to serve two but could have served three (the picture doesn't do it justice how large a cut it is). The arugula salad is a unique, light, and a zesty delight. I can't find something similar anywhere else and I find myself craving it. read more

You owe it to yourself to pay a visit to Sogno. This restaurant is firing on all cylinders and delivers a satisfying dining experience. The food was excellent (we had the grilled octopus appetizer and a surf and turf special), the setting was intimate even though the space is large, and the service was impeccable and professional. Our waiter suggested a wine by the glass that paired well with the steak and brought out another style of wine to try in addition to the one we had discussed. Service-oriented and friendly. It seems no detail is too small for them to notice, even the rest rooms are inviting! We will be back. read more

5 stars. Both food and service. First start with polpo, then work your way to the margherita. Classic pie but can easily be cooked incorrectly.....not the case here. Delicious Polpo was fresh, light, and was paired with a nice glass of wine by way of recommendation from our server, Anthony. After pizza, and a glass of red (another fabulous recommendation) I opted for the veal cutlet. I've had my fair share of so/so veal cutlets but always like to take chances on newer places to test their iteration. Sogno did this right. Again - light, refreshing, delicious. Great recommendations of food and wine, Anthony. You know your menu and have a great pallet for wine. We'll be back!! read more
