My husband is a lifelong Connecticut resident and a hardcore Ice Cream aficionado. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but will oblige him EVERY..SINGLE...TIME.. he wants to make an Ice Cream run as we don't have various, nor delicious Ice Cream spots in our part of Queens, sadly. I highly recommend it as it's rich, flavorful, definitely trendy as it was packed and everyone was posting Lives of their ice cream trip We cannot wait to return next season with our littles

It's not unique anymore. One of the draws of going here was to walk in and see all the liquid nitrogen and making the ice cream. It's just not fun anymore. Also, they served my bubble cone in a plastic cup? That was weird. The inside is also in need of attention. The lighting was dim and it was pretty dirty in there if you stand and look around. It's like it hasn't been deep cleaned in 10 years. There's also no restroom! People seemed nice to us. I won't complain about them. It seems like a lot of kids working, to be expected. It's basically a fast food ice cream chain so what can be expected. The real issue is, they need a manager there running the ship. The crew was all over the place when I was there. They kept looking at the order receipts, running around chaotically. Asking each other questions etc. I think they need a boss or someone there that can help the crew out with direction. I think lack of management was the issue. I recommend spending your money elsewhere. Go find a mom and pop place nearby. This place is just not as "cool" as it once was.

Saugatuck Sweets is an ice cream parlor and candy shop that opened in Westport, Connecticut in May…read more2014. It was founded by husband and wife Al and Chris DiGuido. The shop offers ice cream produced by Stamford-based supplier Longford's Ice Cream as well as locally-baked pies and cakes. The shop also features a large selection of nostalgic loose candies; customers can make their own custom goodie bags. A second location opened in Fairfield in 2016. The original Westport location closed its doors in December 2023 due to financial problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. My family and I recently visited Saugatuck Sweets for ice cream. We just had lunch next door at Firehouse Deli and thought that ice cream sounded like a good dessert idea. We really liked the interior and their selection of old school candies. After looking over the menu, I ordered a cup of "Peanut Butter Blizzard", my wife ordered a cup of "Mint Oreo Bomb", and our son ordered a cup of "Cookie Monster". We all enjoyed our choices. We had a nice experience at Saugatuck Sweets and would definitely stop there again on a future trip to the area.

Staff, and what I assume might have been the owner were never UNpleasant, but they weren't pleasant, either. The place could use a good cleaning. If you consider the dirt along with the owner's popularity with the anti-mask and anti-vaxx crowd, it just isn't a place we're comfortable taking the kids. We're puzzled by some of the rave reviews because it's always empty while there are lines out the doors of the other ice cream places within walking distance in town.

Freezing moo has tons of flavor combinations which can be a bit daunting at first. We got the chocolate cherry and green tea lychee which were both delicious. It looks like they only offer one size, which is $7.50 and includes three toppings. This is a more expensive experience but worth it. The staff here is very friendly and pay attention to the customers and are willing to explain this unique ice cream process for people trying this for the first time. One of the employees explained that this is a chain that started out in Kansas but this is their first Connecticut location. Hoping they are able to expand!

Although there was a line, it also moved quickly! From traditional scoops, to loaded banana splits, milkshakes and even nostalgic ice cream truck favorites I was impressed with the wide selection offered. The outdoor seating made for a vibrant and fun experience for an ice cream shop and we could tell there were many regulars in the crowd. We all enjoyed our cones and it's awesome to know this great spot is on the area.

We were greeted with quick, friendly service. My daughter was thrilled with her waffle bowl (though to be fair, she's pretty easy to please when sugar is involved). I didn't want to look at the menu, so I stuck with a classic vanilla on a sugar cone simple and generously scooped. The prices are super reasonable, and they even have a little enclosed patio to enjoy your treat if you want to linger. Truth be told, I don't care for ice cream much, but seeing my kid so happy made the stop totally worth it. She gives it two thumbs up and that's all that really matters!

They have an appropriately sized parking lot with a backdoor entrance that makes entering convenient. In terms of seating beyond the bar and booth interior they also have a decently sized covered/enclosed patio for the nicer days. I started with a couple of their appetizers like the shishito peppers and duck bao buns. The peppers were served in a yuzu like sauce and were ok but not necessarily something I would go out of my way ordering. The bao buns with their diced duck had an excellent sauce and were well worth it. When it came to my main, I had the inferno ramen which contrary to the name was probably a 4/10 on the spice level and was served with a side of chilli oil if you wanted to up the spice level yourself. Poached egg was nice touch in the ramen and the broth was flavorful. Overall well worth the visit.

We started with the pan fried dumplings and the duck bao buns, both very good. Then we had a California roll and the fried noodles dish with chicken. The noodle dish lacked flavor and it would've been nice to see a few more veggies in the dish. It was a large portion. The service was friendly and attentive. There is a wrap around bar, tables and booths for the inside dining experience, and there is outdoor seating as well. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. Private spacious parking lot behind the restaurant. Prices a tad on the higher end. All in all it was a fine experience, but nothing from the food to menu options to the decor wowed us enough to want to return.
