My boyfriend and I love getting similar ice cream like this in the Lower East Side and we're glad we have a spot like this in town now! Freezing moo has tons of flavor combinations which can be a bit daunting at first. We got the chocolate cherry and green tea lychee which were both delicious. It looks like they only offer one size, which is $7.50 and includes three toppings. This is a more expensive experience but worth it. The staff here is very friendly and pay attention to the customers and are willing to explain this unique ice cream process for people trying this for the first time. The ice cream seems like an afterthought, and the drinks are the main attraction l. i went for the scream as im not a bubble tea fan... it's a novelty really. i can't see myself going more than once a year to this place. ditto places like milk craft, etc. if you're into rolled ice cream with lots of options, it's good, just not for me. comfortable seating inside but ditch the loud music. location is bad though. im sure they'd do better if the ship was better located in town, but it was busy so they have a following. read more

It has gone through many renovations and changes over the years but it's really amazing as it is now. Their boba is surprisingly fresh. I didn't expect it to be that good. My favorite is their charcoal ice cream. (I usually hate ice cream). The only thing I don't like is how loud the music is. I can never eat inside. He made it only vanilla with an Oreo on top and told me I should have told the cashier. Ice cream is also slightly dry. Will give it another chance. I prefer this place over Milkcraft. Point blank. It's a family run business. The first time I walked in one of the owners was helping the staff with a busy line and getting everyone sorted and if they had questions she did the explaining, I appreciate that.. The second time it was a bit busier and the line moved quite fast and the employees making the ice cream always try to put on a show, making each made to order is hard especially on busy week night so to make it feel like an individual experience every time to me is going above and beyond. Heard about this place opening up from a friend and decided to give it a shot. You get to build your own cup- you pick from one of their ice cream options and add toppings. I picked Mucho Mango and added pineapple and pretzel stick as my toppings. They make the ice cream in front of you which is a cool experience, they then roll it up nicely in your cup. Now for my least favorite part, the toppings. My two pineapple chunks were straight from the can. :( My cousin said her brownies were the ones from Stop n Shop and her cookie was a Chips Ahoy. I know it is costly to run a business but skimping in this area is a no go for me. The ice cream itself was fine but the toppings ruined the experience for me. Wasn't sure what to expect since the line was really long and ice cream was made on an ice top. I thought it would be over-hyped like the nitrogen place down the street. But, I have to say it was delicious. I would highly recommend the Black Swan ice cream. Strangely enough it was charcoal ice cream and brownie. Charcoal tastes like a vanilla and apparently has benefits to your skin and teeth. That's what the sign says, so it has to be true. Also, I thought the price was pretty reasonable considered you get unlimited toppings compared to other places that charge based on weight. I can't wait to come back and try more flavors. read more

Yummy ice cream. Lots of toppings, but a bit lacking in some of the classics - wish they had hot fudge, melted marshmallow or melted peanut butter. It's pricey, but the portions are generous and you are basically paying for the show of it being made and rolled. The presentation is lovely. Great place for kids. Ok...my two children wanted me to bring them to Freezing Moo, I really didn't think it was a great idea, because we already have our favorites, but I did. It was empty when we arrived. Yes, lots of flavor choices, and enough toppings to satisfy most, I don't need toppings. I forget what my two ordered, but I ordered key lime. There were only two ice cream makers, I don't care where they came from. One started making my son's order. I was interested in how Moo was different, or special. The ice cream was liquid, in a cup, then spilled onto a metal plate...like a square pizza pan...where it started to freeze immediately! I asked the cashier how cold the surface was, she told me 22 degrees below zero! I was surprised. The maker then started moving the freezing liquid around like scrambled eggs. When it started to solidify he added mixtures of whatever flavorings were ordered. This is where it got scary for me. You know how when you go to a salad bar, or to prepaIred foods in bins, like Whole Foods...there is always glass there to protect the foods from falling debris...hair, skin flakes, dust off clothes?? Well, aftet the flavorings were added to the ice cream mix, the 'maker" used two putty knife type blades to chop and mix it all together by hammering it like a drum roll all the while leaning over the mix and ratatatatat tatting it into a mixture! I was shocked at the thought of all the things he was shaking loose from his body and clothes into my son's ice cream! Then he moved it around into a square, and scraped up each roll separately, like little egg rolls. When they were served, yes, I ate mine...only because I wanted to see what all the excitement was about. I took three bites then tossed it. Here's the problem with 22 degrees below zero, after two bites, your mouth is too cold to taste anything. I didn't finish mine, but my kids did theirs. Funny thing, their ice creams...never really melted in their cups! Too cold! It cost almost $25 for these. You want great ice cream, go to Saugatuck Sweets. You want good soft ice cream, DaIry Queen stiil tastes best, frozen yogurt, the BEST is in Lordship at Zack's!! Stay away from these boutique shops, like " Milkcrap" and Moo. Honest review income- When I first walked in I got a big blast of EDM and children yelling. The place is a disco/hibachi/ ice cream parlor. So if you don't like those things don't come. Probably the first time I've gotten ice cream that I had no interest in eating. My ice cream actually tasted like frozen butter - it was pretty awful. I wouldn't have minded throwing it away as much if it hadn't cost a whopping $7.50!!! I'm guessing the good reviews on here are only from people who load their ice cream with candy enough to mask the taste. More expensive than DQ and with ice cream flavors less rich than Milkcraft, Freezing Moo provides the unique experience of making the ice cream rolled before your eyes on some cool kitchen freezing plate gizmo. After selecting the combos, the ice cream tech pours out the flavor along with mix-ins right on a high tech freezing plate and makes the ice cream before you. Carmel smiley face? Freezing Moo is not just any ordinary ice cream shop. It's very unique in it's own way that i have never seen before. It's located just downtown fairfield, 5 minutes away from my house! Another gimmicky ice cream franchise in Fairfield. A pretty good show, $ 7.50 for 16 oz? for "performance mediocre tasting ice cream". Not sure if it is actually ice cream. It's hard to explain what the show is about, I suppose it's worth a one-time visit. The "ice cream" starts as a liquid of some kind in a plastic cup sitting on the counter. I'm not making this up. This gets tossed onto a freezing crepe wok thingofamabob. They smash in/add the flavors, which is a single strawberry, a single 3/4" slice from a banana, 2 berrys - then they roll it off the frozen surface and add toppings. It's a decent quantity of NOT very good "ice cream"/"ice milk"? During my visit, the fellows that were making the product spoke almost no English, communicating my topping choices had to be relayed to others in the store. "Sorry, he speaks no english" - no kidding. I'm all for immigrants having work opportunities in the USA, but should they be at the front counter taking orders that they don't even understand? Kiddo and I went to Freezing Moo for the first time this past weekend. When you walk in the set up is a little confusing, but the staff is nice and helps walk you through it. One of the first things they ask was, "Have you been here before?" When we said no, they said it's like hibachi, but with ice cream. Shrimp flipped into my shirt pocket and flaming onion towers are things I don't want to think about when I'm about to order ice cream, but I was ready to roll with it. No pun intended: they make rolled ice cream here. After you order one of about 20 flavor, I was, you head to a station where there is a big round flat freezing metal plate embedded in the counter. Your "ice cream" starts as liquid cream in a cup, which is poured onto the plate and pushed around with a tool quite like a painters spackle until it freezes. Then they scrape it off the plate into rolls and pop it into a cup, and push 3 toppings of your choosing on it: lots of typical toppings you would expect, plus one or two weird ones, like goldfish crackers. Probably not a top seller! Did we enjoy it? The novelty was kind of fun, and the workers are cute the way they decorate the ice cream with sauces before they roll it. They were also very nice to take the time to carefully clean a plate up for my son who has a nut allergy. Will we be back? Not sure. I didn't get the sense of the ingredients were super high quality.
