This is a great spot to go because they have outdoor seating and I can eat with my dog in peace…read more I ordered the Cobb salad, which my fault but I should have asked for dressing on the side because it was definitely overdressed for my liking. The fries were nicely cooked and salted, but $8 was a lot for the amount given. $4 would have made more sense. And then yes, I'm even going to mention the iced tea. Because there are not very many restaurants I go to that offer a freshly brewed iced tea, which is one of my favorite drinks. It really makes the meal perfect and I appreciate a freshly brewed tea vs a canned one. Staff is nice and brought water for my dog too.

My daughter and I split the French toast which was excellent and the Eggs Benedict (with salmon instead of Canadian bacon) also excellent?! My grandson just had scrambled eggs with toast and potatoes. Now for the not so good?! Horrible acoustics!! It was soooo loud in the dining room that we had to yell at each other and repeat ourselves to understand each other?! The coffee was forty forevers coming to the table after we ordered....and then our meal as good as it was took forever to come out. A couple seated next to us came in after us but had their food and finished and were leaving when ours FINALLY came out of the kitchen :( IF we go again we will eat outside and only in good weather.

Our waitress was fantastic and made some great suggestions. We shared two orders of the Biscuit with butter and jam. This was heaven! So buttery and moist. The jam made it next level. Crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes, ripe avocados, all on a perfectly soft grain bread. And the fries were excellent as well! My friends all enjoyed their meals as well. They also have very fun mocktails. My friends and I tried three different types and they were all delicious. This was a standout meal. Now I can't wait to try it for dinner!

I recently decided…read moreto come here for a wedding anniversary dinner and was blown away by the service and the food quality. Started off with oysters, wine and fresh bread. I could tell that the butter was house made and asked for extra because it was that good. Had the beef duo as the main course. I found it to be satisfying and also much better value than the steak frites. All of the items I received were very detail oriented and as well as fresh. We were seated on one side on the restaurant that I believe was blocked off for more special occasions. The other side of the restaurant seemed to have tables placed more closely to one another. Our server consistently checked on us throughout the night to make sure we were okay. Overall I was very satisfied with the service that I received here as well as with the food.

Cool atmosphere, great energy, and good food! I also got super lucky with Hailey as my waitress. She sold me on just about every item on the menu... to the point where I completely handed over the decision-making to her. Yup, that's right, I told her what I liked and trusted her to pick my three dishes. And listen, when your name is on the menu for crafting a cocktail, I'm going to trust you to pick my meal too! Now for the food: the grilled octopus was amazing. Great flavor, perfect texture, and a really nice balance with the lentils. The shishito peppers were delicious, and the sauce that came with them added the perfect pop of flavor. The beet salad, however, was a little underwhelming. Unfortunately, it didn't have much flavor, so that one left me a bit disappointed. And then there was dessert. Oh man! Hailey did it again. She brought out the sweet corn cheesecake. Sounds weird, I know, but I had to try it. And yes, it definitely had sweet corn! It was a little too weird for my taste buds, but I'm glad I tried it.... Then came the Madeleines. Bite-sized, warm, and absolutely delicious. Fair warning: if you don't tell them to take the bowl away, you WILL eat the entire thing. Man oh man...so good!!! Overall, a really fun experience with a great atmosphere, good food, and a waitress who genuinely made the experience memorable. Kudos to Hailey for the great service and for knowing exactly what to recommend! She definitely made my night.

The specials menu could have been the full menu in itself! The cocktail menu also had a lot of good options; had a hard time choosing. We started with a Shirley temple, thyme out and calamari. She had the pesto bucatini with an added burrata and I had the truffle tagliatelle from the specials menu. The thyme hot cocktail was delicious. We also got complimentary bread and marinara. The bread was soft and tasty. The calamari was light and ok. My date enjoyed her pasta; said she always gets it when she comes here. My tagliatelle pasta was DELICIOUS. The restaurant is cute and all the staff are so nice. Plenty of parking but unfortunately it's paid parking (not a deal breaker though!) Some of the options are on the pricier side but normal for the area and worth the price. Told my husband we have to come here so he can try!

This one pound mozzarella stick definitely fulfilled that criteria. It was so gigantic it was almost like getting a workout in just to lift it. The outside was heavily breaded with bread crumbs and the top was sprinkled with parmesan cheese and chopped scallions. Even the dipping cup was supersized to accommodate the diameter of the stick! Typically, I would have posted until after my I finished my oversized food compilation project. However, it's being posted early because The Brookdale is permanently closing its doors. I am truly sad to hear they will no longer be in business, but their three sister restaurants at 1109 Broad Street will still remain open. #thebrookdale #thebigcheese #bloomfieldnj

Larry was very accommodating, and helped compose a vegan dish from the setup of another dish. He was considerate to recommend something that would feel "substantial" - something that I really appreciated. It's already a bit inconvenient to come up with a dish on the spot, but to go the extra mile by caring that it would be satisfying as a main dish was really very kind. And it turned out fantastic. This restaurant has so much going for it in the quality of its ingredients and dish compositions. I would encourage the chef to consider how the can apply their creativity to a dedicated vegan dish as well. There's a big world to explore in creating modern, high end, plant-based dishes and I think this restaurant would hit it out of the park ! :)
