He had the idea of a replaceable cover on the first couch to take the brunt of the cat damage. It may be overkill because the material is holding up very well, but we're still glad to have it. Don't waste your time. Scott sure wasted ours. Tried for WEEKS to get our chair reupholstered. Got an estimate. Scheduled to have the chair picked up and the truck never came. Scheduled for the next day. No show. When he rescheduled again, I asked if we needed to pick out material first. Two days later, he replied and we scheduled to go in at 7am when they opened. He countered with 7:30am. We agreed. Went into the store and picked out material. Got a detailed estimate. Replied with a request for changes. No response. Texted again. He replied that he was too busy. Two more days went by. He says in his reply that he let us know that the material we picked would take two weeks. NOPE. Never told us that. Says I pulled the project. NOPE. Was just trying to get the cost down and was open to other suggestions. This guy clearly know his stuff. But customer service falls woefully short. (Tip: when a customer posts a bad review, it's your opportunity to make things right. Not blame the customer for being frustrated with your total lack of attention.) People in my neighborhood have no idea that you should dispose of your things, or take them to Goodwill... nope, the people here just throw things outside their door and wait for the vultures to swarm. And so it came to be that a few years ago, my husband walked through the door with some shabby old chairs he'd brought in off the street. Ugh. What in the world?!? He got to work, sanding them, staining them, rendering up color combinations and visualizing the completed product in his mind... and then he got bored I guess, and he left them for YEARS guys, unfinished, in pieces, in the corner of my living room. I dropped the chairs off, chatted with Scott and another man (who fed me delicious cookies) and felt stoked about leaving the chairs in their hands. They said they'd have them ready in 2-3 weeks, so imagine my surprise when I got a call from Scott less than a week later! I just picked them up today and they are BEAUTIFUL! Almost worth waiting years for - but please don't tell my husband I said so. And the price was incredible. I paid $328.50 (after tax) for both of them. Had a great experience with this place- I had a very outdated antique loveseat that we were about to throw away, but then I thought I could possibly get it recovered with some new fabric. So, I reached out to several places here on yelp with a photo of the sofa and a request for a quote. Almost every place took at least a day to get back and their quotes were between 650 up to 800- even though I was providing the fabric! Scott responded back right away and said 350 for labor. We have a winner- I immediately brought the sofa for him to inspect. He told me that he would recover the sofa for 350 but that it looked like my cushion was very soft and worn out, he told me that I should get a new bottom cushion- but that it was my choice. So, I chose to get a new bottom cushion for an extra 100 which brought the total to 450- still well below the other bids! I ended up getting some pillow cases as well so the total came up a bit more but all told it was still well below the quotes from every other establishment. They did an amazing job on my sofa. I inherited a vintage sofa from the 1960s that belonged to my parents and which I grew up with. Lots of memories and great bones, but an unfortunate choice for reupholstering in the 1970s. Scott at Sofa Interiors spent a long time talking us through fabric and foam options, as well as design choices, and left us to look through the sample books to find the perfect fabric. It took awhile to arrive because we had to special order it but it was completely worth it. The actual work time from picking up the couch to getting it back only took 2 weeks. And what a beautiful job they did! They even refinished the legs and added a support leg in the middle to match. Scott also called a couple of times just to verify design choices, to make sure no mistakes were made. I was very specific on what I needed, that I was supplying the material(s) and the padding on the chairs were 100% in tack. Every company replied with an outrageous quote and tried to sell me material, etc. If there is one thing I completely dislike is being pressured into buying items that I made clear I would supply. MWe have an 18 years old Natuzzi leather sofa that was sagging so bad you could no longer sit on it. The wood frame was bent so bad, the cushions were too soft. This couch was all in one piece, the cushion pieces are all sewn together to the sofa. Hence the whole couch needed to come apart to repair it. Scott did a fantastic job on the sofa! I bet this sofa could last another 20 years! Ha, ha... I also had my dining chairs reupholstered because the chair cushions are too hard to sit on it more than 5 minutes. My previous company that reupholstered these eight dining chairs said the cushions will get softer as time passes by. I first believed what they said. After three years, I learned that the cushions will not get softer. But, Scott used the right foam to make these chairs usable again. We'll enjoy our meals more, not complaining about the hard chairs. Due to COVID, I made an appointment to see him and tried out different foams for the sofa and dining chairs at his shop. He was precise on selecting what type of foam is the best for my use. His recommendations on the foams I selected was excellent. I also picked out some fabrics for the dining chairs from his shop inventory. The existing fabric on the chairs are still good (that's because it was too hard to sit on them and we didn't use them much), but we weren't sure if he'll need more fabric with his suggested new foams. We ended up replacing the chair fabrics which was very reasonably priced at. He came to my house to pick the furnitures and delivered them when they're repaired. His workers are very professional, too, and pleasant to work with! All I can say is that his price is reasonable, he's knowledgable about reupholstery and repair. He'll tell you upfront what is repairable or not. He tries very hard to have honest and clear communications with his customers. Most of all, Scott was so considerate that he tried hard to deliver the repaired furnitures to me before my surgery. I now need to clean and condition my sofa. is it just me or is it extremely difficult to find a decent place to get something reupholstered?!? so many places tried to charge me a ridiculous amount of money without seeing what i wanted fixed, i was baffled. it's basically a true task to search, call, and email multiple shops to get quotes and who were also were so adamant about coming to my home to inspect the piece of furniture when i just wanted two cushions for a rocking chair fixed. i've also procrastinated fixing them for this very reason. gladly, i found sofa interiors on yelp (duh) and sent them message through the app (simple.) the owner, scott, responded very quickly and told me to bring in my cushions. once i arrived, i presented the cushions i needed fixed and was told what my options were. i didn't feel like anything was forced upon me and he simply provided different solutions. he also had a wide variety of fabric in stock to pick from - very convenient. i went ahead and placed my order and picked it up three weeks later. they seem to be very busy, so if you want something done in a rush make sure you let them know up front. i ended up paying $165 total. they also don't accept credit cards, so make sure to bring cash or a check! i took off one star because i was told my cushions would be ready the same week i took them in or the beginning of the following week. i had to call twice to get an update on when it would be ready and picked them up three weeks later. i was a little impatient as time went on because this rocking chair is for my nursury and was the final bit of furniture left. it also has been in our house for the past three years - unused, untouched and neglected so i was dying to get it fixed. scott was very knowledgeable on fixing furniture, building furniture from scratch and reupholstering. we decided to come back and bring the entire rocking chair in for them to fix since this chair is really old, but really valuable to us. i'm so happy i've found a place where we can turn to for fixing furniture and i no longer need to do the arduous search all over LA. read more
