Repair of the leg. The leg had been broken completely off.

I took a straight back chair in to have a leg fixed. It was actually a dining room chair from a Tavern in Virginia early 1900s. After being a Tavern it was turned into a single family residence. My Mom grew up in the home so this chair, one of eight I have, has great sentimental value/meaning. Jack's son helped me. He was very nice and efficient. They had my chair ready in a two weeks. I've read reviews where customers think the cost is expensive here. I paid $90.00 for the repair. Not sure if that is too much but unless you know exactly where to look, you can not see the repair. I'll go back here if I need any other furniture work done.

I was referred bere to have our dining room chair seat cushions reupholstered. I'd already gotten the fabric. Jack was so knowledgeable and accommodating and offered a fair per seat price. His wife was lovely, too. He said it'd be 2 weeks and it was exactly that. Our chairs are sturdy hardwood but the cushion fabric was worn, stained, and the foam inside almost completely flat. They'd been uncomfortable for about a year. We thought we'd DIY it but after struggling for 10 mins to remove when one staple from the dust cover, we knew we needed a professional. We also needed a button on our tufted couch cushion retied which he did for free. It is so great to have such a talented craftsman nearby.

Ta da - the refurbished gem!

If I could more than 5 stars, I would happily do so. After buying a footstool at a yard sale that I knew was a gem, I relied on prior yelp reviews to take the diamond in the rough to Classic Furniture. Upon entering I was greeted warmly and was asked if I wanted to select fabric on hand due to small amount needed. Heck ya! I was shown many options and selected a deep sapphire blue. Shortly thereafter, I was called back with invite to select the stain I wanted. Nailed it! Oh, and the brass nails were their idea. It's not only gorgeous, but super comfy.

I brought them a wide…read morekitchen drawer that had completely fallen apart -- the bottom had separated from the back and it was no longer usable for storing our heavy pots and pans. From the moment I arrived, the experience was outstanding. They understood exactly what needed to be done and got right to work. They didn't just glue it back together -- they reinforced the structure with nails and added hidden supports underneath to make sure it could handle real weight. And to top it off, they did it fast -- I was blown away by how quickly and professionally they turned it around. The craftsmanship is excellent. The drawer feels sturdier than it ever did. And they were warm, honest, and straightforward about the repair process and cost. If you have any furniture or cabinet repair -- especially those small but frustrating jobs most big places won't even look at -- SM Furniture Repair is the real deal. Old-school skill, great service, and fair pricing. Highly recommended!

He handled it like a pro. But he subsequently stood me up for two other jobs: no call and no return phone calls. Maybe there is an accountability problem. I want my table back that he agreed to repair. I wonder where it is? This is my second time writing and asking about it. It is just so unprofessional and that is not how he represents himself. But I am tired of waiting and being ignored. I am going to rate him this time, and I think I am being generous. This is an awful way to treat people who believe in your service.

Now I have to find a different company to help and this company stole money from me. I will NEVER use them again nor do I recommend them. This company's communication came out to repair a lift recliner chair. The technician, a very nice man, reported that the problem was a wire under the chair. He claimed to have repaired the wire and fixed the chair. I paid him $125. The next morning, when the chair was used again, it once again failed to decline after lifting. I called the company back and reported the chair was not fixed. They got back to me two days later. Then they requested more pictures of the chair in order to schedule a technician to return. I sent them immediately via email. I also told them via email, voicemail & text that it was the Control Box under the chair and to have the technician bring a control box on his vehicle. The company never acknowledged this information. And the technician did NOT have a control box with him when he showed up a week later. Once there, he reported it was indeed the control box and he now had to order the part which could take up to two weeks to receive and 2-4 weeks to come back and install it. AND he wanted to charge me an additional $185 for the part. Their rate for a diagnostic is supposed to be $50. I paid $125 already. And 2-4 weeks? This chair is my mom's only chair and it still doesn't work. Wtf did I pay for? So...instead of fixing the chair, I decided not to. Why sink over $300 into an old chair when a new chair is less than $500? That makes no sense. This company's customer service is non-existent. They don't answer their phone and everything is robotic about the experience. While the technician was nice enough, he did not do the job correctly and preferred to argue when I called him out on it. I maintain that I will not use them again.
