PATH said they would help me furnish it with $1,600 budget but unfortunately I could only purchase at "Simple Discount Furniture". I was given a list of everything at their store with prices. I noticed immediately how high their prices were compared to Walmart with not near the selection and later found out quality. Because of their high prices I could only get a futon, (1) end table, toaster, 32" TV, a very small table with 3 chairs, (3) pots & pans, refrigerator, and a dresser which came to $1,600. I could have gotten twice as much at Walmart and better quality I found out after it was delivered. The futon leg broke the first week and I requested they replace it with a full mattress and bedframe since I was going to use the futon to sleep on. The mattress is so thin and you can fill the metal inside just when u sit on it. The bed frame is just made out of metal and very cheap. The end table and dresser are made out of that cheap material not wood. The dresser is very small. The table is very cheap metal and not level. One of the chair legs bent 32 days after delivery and they wouldn't exchange it because it was two days beyond the 30 day warranty. Had to toss it. The microwave is so small u can barely fit a dinner plate in it. The pots & pans I would hope would be non stick but they aren't and everything sticks and burns. The refrigerator is nothing to write home about just a standard small apt size. All I can say is someone in upper management at PATH must have some affiliation with this company and is making money by only allowing the items to be purchased their. I could have furnished my entire apt with much better quality and choices if I had gone to Walmart. Simple Discount furniture is a rip off.

Phillip, our sales person, introduced himself as we entered and informed us about the sale prices and the layout of the store. He allowed us to browse, uninterrupted and was available to answer any questions that we had. He made the buying process very relaxed and convenient. We wanted to think about the purchase so we called back the next day and Phillip assisted us with placing our order online. The process was secure and convenient as they use a secure link to provide credit card information. Was planning on picking up a couple of things but decided to just use their facilities in the meantime. A code was needed so I head over to ask a staff & he said he would let me in after locking the till, but another member offered to do so. I followed her and she enters the code after knocking on the door. The single stall restroom (they have 2) was fairly clean, stocked with TP, no paper towel, just the hand drier. Please see description above. The whole store appears to be fairly empty at 10 am on a Thursday. Everything looks neat & organized. It's not the employees or store's fault that the surrounding community is a bit on the sketchy side but I find myself questioning whether I would willingly shop here given what I have just seen at the restroom or the fact that a police cruiser is parked in front of the store, maybe coincidence? When safety is a huge concern, it would probably rank as my least favorite location. Again , nothing against the store or the staff, please note that.

I left it at the warehouse and am hoping they refund me for their mistake at best, false advertising/fraud at worst. Again .. only buy what you SEE PHOTOGRAPHED because they don't check inside the boxes, and they tend to err on the side of 'more valuable.' My other issue was late last month, I won an 'appears new, overstock item, never sold' Christmas tree, only to get it home to find one giant section missing and no base. (also, clearly a customer return because it still had the guy's return address on the box) No biggie, $15 and a Saturday of driving. I bid on the same tree a few weeks later and got it for $20, and between the two of them, I Frankensteined together a reasonable tree. I never complained about the tree, but I've written to customer service about the wrong chair, which I left at the warehouse and I hope someone figures out quick enough to offer it as a 2nd chance to the people I was bidding against ... and give me my money back.

I also sought out small business owners, despite knowing I'd pay a bit more (quality). I am proud to have supported this small local business. The team over at RWS were not only courteous and helpful with my options, they educated me and helped me to identify the best options for my space. I am grateful they were willing to take on the project, given my tiny space. The floors are gorgeous and keep in line with the house's original floors. Everything is taking longer nowadays, but I was patient. They did their best to get me the floors in a reasonable time. We plan to keep working on this house for a while so I have these guys in my recommended list of resources. They are terrific and will definitely do business with them again. Don't think twice.

One of these oak shelves for example- can be used as a floating shelf. If it no longer fits your needs, you can cut into smaller shelves, or legs on a chair. You can stain or paint one color- then if three years later- turquoise is no longer your favorite color, remove the paint with a sander or this orange scented paint remover- sand and stain oak again. I have antique furniture I have changed colors three times in 20 years. Well made pieces - not IKEA garbage. IKEA can't be moved bc once you unscrew most of the cork/ particle board- it losing its threading. It's basically more trash- made with toxic. Plus it's not even that cheap anymore! Buy real wood- not cut down from trees recently which we need to produce oxygen- but reclaimed.
