The ONLY reason I'm giving them a 1 star is because I need to leave this review. I planned a Birthday Luncheon for friend. We vetted several places and she chose this one because of the vibe. She wanted the dj, the sing a long and fun times. We scheduled the event May 24t, 2026 2PM-5PM. I texted the owner, Claudia, to confirm date and time and to ensure the menu I created was correct. I received a "YES" confirming all the information. I showed up to the restaurant at 1:15PM so I could set up for the event i.e. balloons, table center pieces and gift bags. I was greeted with closed doors. The restaurant was CLOSED!!!! It was pouring rain! I immediately started calling the owner, Claudia...no response. I sent several text messages...NO RESPONSE! I decided to give them a few minutes grace period because they were scheduled to be open at 1PM. 1:30 came and went, restaurant still closed. 1:45PM came and went, restaurant still closed. By this time I was drenched. I could see someone at the back and they saw me banging on the door...NO RESPONSE!!!! It broke my heart to have to call the Birthday girl to explain to her what was going on. I wanted her to show up and just enjoy her day. I decided to walk a few doors down to The Cove and I spoke to Ms. Beverly, I explained what was happening and she said she would accommodate my birthday brunch. I went back to The Social Corner and one of their cooks, who was not working that day was gracious enough to let 8 of the guests in out of the rain. He made several phone calls. Eventually 2:20PM Claudia called to tell me that one of her employees came to the restaurant and said no one was there and they left to run an errand. I was so annoyed and aggravated by this time. THERE WAS NO DJ, NO BARTENDER, AND NO FOOD BEING COOKED. I ultimately had everyone go down the block to The Cove where we had a great time. The food was excellent and their rum punch was punchin'. Miss Beverly was an angel and we are truly grateful to Mario and the rest of staff that took care of us. Do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

We went to Social Corner for brunch and I had an awesome time. The waitress was about her business she explained everything to us so we wouldn't be confused(we already knew the process but we let her talk) The choices on the brunch menu were extensive, something for everyone. The portion size was great - it was definitely worth the money and the trip. I ordered the fried shrimp as my appetizer and the chicken and waffles as my entree. I was really pleased with my choices, my shrimp was seasoned to perfection, not salty at all. The Chicken and Waffles was good too. Nice and juicy chicken and crispy waffles. Best part was the carafe of rum punch. Each person is given their own carafe. I love rum punch and so did everyone at our table so we ordered another round - thats extra but we didn't care. The restaurant is a comfortable size. There is one unisex restroom towards the rear. They had a great DJ who interacted with the audience instead of just standing there playing music. I ordered the salmon with sauce with a side of mash potatoes. $30 for an overcooked salmon smothered in sauce with 3 scoops of unseasoned mashed potatoes as if I ordered ice cream . Drinks great ! I used to go here all the time but it's been a long time since I went. I decided to go there last night (Thursday) and take a friend that was visiting from overseas. We got there just after 8pm. They had a live DJ and he was playing a nice mix, the vibes was everything. It was pretty empty with just 2 other tables occupied and 2 people at the bar. That changed very quickly. With 30 mins, the bar was completely full and a lot of other tables filled up. We decided to sit at the bar. Patty was our bartender/server and she was really nice. She was helpful with answering questions and made some good suggestions. Drinks: we went with the XL fishbowls which are regularly $45 and $35 on Thursdays. My friend got the rum punch and I got a passion fruit margarita. Both were really good and strong! Sad to say I couldn't even finish mine lol so he helped me. Food: he started with the crab cake and I had the mussels. The crab cakes were okay but the mussels were amazing!! That coconut cream sauce was everything. For entrees he had the creamy pasta with chicken and I had the steamed snapper with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. Both were really good and the portions were a good size and filling. Second time trying social corner the first time I only had drinks so I felt like writing a review at that time wouldn't be fair. Went on a Saturday night around 9 seating was right away very cute date vibe decor. They had a live DJ definitely kept me dancing all night. The food 7/10 and drinks 5/10. The service was not so great the waitress seemed aggravated from the time she approached the table told us we had to order right away because the kitchen was about to close she didn't seem like she wanted to be there at all. Although the music is great the service is HORRIBLE. My friend and I went to their sister restaurant next door for food which was great (cove) and decided to come here for drinks and we were never approached until we said something. 3 staff and neither wanted to help us until the bartender decided she would help us. They continued to check on everyone except us. I'm not sure why this happened to us first time visitors but the staff definitely need to be more friendly. I've been to Social Corner numerous times, but after my most recent visit, I'm seriously reconsidering returning. The service was incredibly disappointing. When we arrived, the host led us to a table and said it would be cleaned off for us. We waited about 10-15 minutes, with the host checking in with us multiple times. However, while the table was being cleared, an older woman, who seemed to work there, lingered over the table. I politely asked how much longer it would take, and was actually ignored for quite a while before asking again, when she told us that we would not be seated at that table because she was holding it for someone else. The host apologized and stated that the owner wanted to accommodate their friends-- who were already seated beforehand. This kind of customer service is unacceptable. Not only was there a lack of communication, but it felt like we were being dismissed without any consideration for our time. I've had good experiences here before, but this incident really soured my opinion of the place. It's disappointing to be treated with such disregard, especially as a returning customer traveling from a long distance on a very cold night. They won't be seeing me again. read more

Hmm... what do I start with. The crab nachos were pretty good. It would've been better if they served it with some lime to squeeze to add some brightness. The sweet Chili wings had a nice kick. The space is small, but they make it work. The service could be better. People were polite but seemed confused about delivering orders and serving the correct drinks. The first time I had one of the tacos and it was delicious. The second time I ordered the shrimp appetizer and it was not good, IMO. Couldn't tell what type of seasoning it, though it seemed like barbecue. It wasn't grilled, seemed boiled. Happened on this spot due to Cove being closed. We walked in and was seated right away. We also went in during happy hour so yay. I ordered a seltzer and tequila but the wait time was a bit long and the drink wasn't right. The waitress quickly took it back and made it just right. Kudos for that. Then we had sticky wings (not sticky but saucy, and good), oxtail tacos( yummy but need a little bit more meat), fish tacos (yummo) and shrimp tacos (delicious).
