Wow, I was pleasantly surprised with this venue on a weekday. I met a friend for drinks and had a great time. The bar is connected to a bowling alley. The bar/lounge is big and nicely decorated. We were there on a Tuesday evening and it was tribute to Biggie night. We paid $10 before 8pm and it was $20 after 8pm. I ordered a turkey burger with fries and my friend had the wings. The music and crowd was just "grown and sexy." The majority of the night was old school R&B and hip-hop which are my favorite genre's. They had different DJ's and they were all great. I came here for my brother & cuz bday celebration. It was vibe, the dj was playing all the tunes. It wasn't crowded. I came on Thursday night, comedy night. The comedian were funny & they was fucking w us, calling us the Section 8. I was like Hella nah we housing connect.. lol. I've been here on multiple occasions and when I say it's always a great time, I mean it! The bartender are awesome, the food is very flavorful, and there's always something cool going on in there. Went to meet up with a couple good sisters and they chose this spot. To be completely honest, I never knew a place like this with so much vibes existed in this neighborhood. Got there shortly after 8 on a very rainy Friday night. The bar had a few folks there but by 10 the patronage had really grown. We were hungry and ordered a couple platters of chicken fingers and French fries and wings. The food was decent enough to ward off hunger and ensure you're not drinking on an empty stomach. I'm this type of setting I don't expect Michelin Star quality dining experience. Service wise, there were about 4-5 bar tenders who kept the drinks flowing serving both folks at the bar, those of seating in the main area and about 3 parties who occupied the VIP areas celebrating birthdays. The DJ was the main event. He didn't miss a beat. He took us on a smooth ride through all the 90's hip hop, RnB and reggae, played all the jams that got the folks to do the required forms of line dancing and stepping and slowed it all the way down the ag you do late night. There was a strong male presence throughout the night. Based on light conversation, it appeared most were regulars who frequented the spot and had built rapport with staff. Overall, it was a great experience. I left a little past midnight and the place had gotten quite packed and the dj was still doing his thing. I'll def be back. My first time at this venue, I must say I had a great time. It's not a big venue, but there's plenty room to dance and socialize. Security was super tight. It's located in a nice part of Woodmere, plenty of parking, and it's feet's away from Woodmere Lanes, so you can get your Bowling on. read more

Hmmm well I enjoyed myself while I was here. Bartenders are helpful & friendly. But the music was consistent. Mid set they switched up the dj and was all over the place after that. So danced a little and then sat the rest of the time. It was an ok experience. read more

Backstage employees are cheaters & thieves ... Last night 11/19 was my first night ever. As I went in, I was immediately impressed with the atmosphere.. Clean & spacious.... the music was thumping & bumping!!!.. the bar had only two tenders... the wait was long & the one bartender charged me $10.00 for a glass of wine... while the other bartender charged me $7.50 for the same glass of wine. Too make a long story short, I spoke with the manger, who basically didn't give a sh$t about my problem... no solution.. & just shrugged his shoulders. I will not be going back. read more

Had a fantastic time at the LHS 40th year high school reunion held at the Backstage! The food was tasty, the drinks were strong, and the staff made the entire evening hassle-free!!! Wouldn't mind one bit if the 50th was held there as well... but maybe we'll ask the DJ to turn down the music a bit next time as most of us are a bit hard of hearing now already :-) read more

I came here once and was pretty impressed. My husband (boyfriend at the time) was home sick and didn't wish for me to go visit him and help him even though I offered to. Out of boredom and wanting something to do since I wasn't seeing him I decided to come here and check out the karaoke by myself. I had a good time, the karaoke set up was very impressive and the DJ wished for me to come back again. I hung out with some of the local neighborhood people at the time I was a local myself because my apartment was near by. The shirley temples were good, the atmosphere was surprisingly nice. Worth it for some night life, not so sure how the bowling is because I didn't try it. read more

Went to The Backstage to hear live music on a Saturday night. The bar is open and airy, with space to sit at tables or at the bar. The sound for the band was great and the drinks were good. TVs around allowed people to watch the game and the news. This is a nice space to hear live music!! read more

Love this place. My family and I go to Backstage regularly and enjoy bowling. We also go there to play pool as the pool tables are cheaper and well I love playing pool lol. The only reason why I dont give Backstage 5 stars is only because of their prices on food and drinks. A bucket of coronas with a six pack in it is $27 which I think is rediculious and the Mozerella stix go for around $8. But other than that, this place is good for the whole family. read more

This place is great, I went there last night to see the band "fat chance" play. They were fantastic! The place has a very friendly atomsphere, it's big, and really nice there. I spoke to the owner about my cuz's rock band...I think they should play there. They have a huge following, and they're kids ranging from 11-14 yrs old. Their name is "GIFFORDS LANE". They played everywhere, at the "BITTEREND" in Manhattan, the St. George theatre in Staten island. In Rahway NJ at the hot rods and harley show. They're opening for the Mets vs Phillies in Phila. They're so good, Dee Snyder and his band member came to see them play. They played for "the real housewives of NJ" at Caroline's rest opening. Everyone wants them!!! This band is worth a look at. Nice place and most people that work there are nice. Only had one issue and that's a horrible bartender Suzanne. She can't make a drink and worse can't remember if she charged you, and usually that can be a good thing but no, she tries to charge you more then once so be careful if she's working when u go. My recommendation would be to walk right out if she's there, otherwise all the other bartenders are great! read more
