This establishment has been my go-to spot for wings. Before this location opened up, I usually drive from Long Beach to SoCal Wings in OC County and back because it's deliciously good. Might say I'm doing too much, but when you want something, you just got to get up and do it. I love their chicken wings, especially the Dynamite wings, my number 1 picked for flavor. I was deciding on lunch with the fam and my aunt recommended SoCal Wings. After browsing their menu, I was sold and placed a phone order. Our order consisted of four SoCal fries (which are basically buffalo fries from The Buffalo Spot with a drizzle of cheese and ranch), a 10-piece nugget, a small fry, a large order of mozzarella sticks, a Thai tea, and a few sides of sauces. To speak bluntly, the experience turned sour for me as soon as I started placing my phone order. While I was ordering sauces, I was rudely cut off by the man working: "Yeah, yeah, anything else?" I felt like I was being rushed off the phone, even after mentioning it was my first time ordering and kindly asking questions about their sauces. The customer service here just overall gave me the ick. Anyways, onto the food. I was super excited for my SoCal fries. They have a variety of sauces to choose from, and I opted for the spicy BBQ. On first impression I was surprised with the generous portions. I ordered a small Socal fries that looked more like a medium. As soon as I dug into my meal, I was met with immediate disappointment; the popcorn chicken on my SoCal fries was extremely stale. It tasted as if they served us three-day-old fried chicken that had been left sitting out. My siblings and mom also agreed the chicken was super hard. I ended up just eating some of the fries and threw the rest away. Before tossing it, I tried drenching the fries in their Cajun sauce (which is over $1 per sauce, btw), and even though I really wanted to like it, it had a weird aftertaste. On top of that, I just couldn't get past how hard the chicken was. The Thai tea, fries, and mozzarella sticks were just decent. I'd also like to mention that when I was placing my order over the phone, the man said my total was $67 and some change. When I paid in person, the total somehow jumped to $83.69. I assumed that included the Cajun sauces I ordered over the phone, but it actually didn't. I ended up paying a second transaction for the sauces, which was around $8. Had I possibly been charged for the side of attitude I was also served? To reiterate: the service here sucks. Overall, I won't be back as the quality doesn't match prices. You'd think that a joint that specializes in fried chicken and wings would serve fresh chicken but on the contrary, my chicken was inedible, gross, and clearly old. I love supporting local businesses, but I refuse to support a place that exhibits rude customer service and serves subpar frozen food that I could throw together at home. The food I got was pretty good for the price, I got a beef rice bowl and large tea. My only complaint with the food was that there wasn't much beef in the bowl, the tea however was pretty good. The person at the register seemed nice and answered my questions fine. The actual inside of the restaurant could've been better, it was really warm and stuffy and the lighting was just a bit gloomy. Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? If I could give this restaurant a zero star rating, I would definitely do so. I was missing a fish fillet, my shrimp was cold, my chicken was burnt but still ice cold, and my fries were so burnt that they were almost black and orange. To top it all off, the restaurant had the audacity to place a balled-up napkin at the bottom of my fries, as if it were supposed to make them look full. Out of the three, the lemon pepper was my favorite. It wasn't made like traditional lemon pepper wings but was made with a semi-wet sauce. Ok came here after reading some reviews on this place! I got the 10 piece wings with mango madness and house special. I also the 5 piece jumbo shrimp and fries! Wings were good, almost all flats 8 of 10 wings and only 2 drumsticks.. Why? Lol so i knock off a star off there! The shrimp was ok with a bland taste, nothing amazing, the cocktail sauce not good IMO. The cajun fries were really good as many people mentioned here with a drink option. So all this for about $27 dollars is kind of steep. Food is getting expensive everywhere around long beach. They have a 2nd location in westminster california also. The place is big and right on the corner of PCH and Atlantic. They have an ATM inside. Parking in the back not an issue but could be dangerous come late night but they have a door in the back that leads into the restaurant. Very nice people running the place. Coming from Buffalo, wings are definitely my comfort food and SoCal Wings are actually pretty damn good. Each wing is relatively small, but the sauces are well crafted. This would have been a 4-star review, but the biggest faux-pas for me was despite asking for blue cheese as my dipping sauce, they gave me ranch. I almost cried when I tried it, because the anticipation of eating those tasty wings with blue cheese was what kept me going all day. I should have checked it before driving away, because I also asked for honey mustard during my phone order, but got two dipping sauces of ranch instead. Ah well. The wings themselves? Pretty good, although smaller than I would like. The Buffalo garlic wasn't crispy enough, but the dry rubs definitely were. If they could nail the crisp on the Buffalo garlic, it would be impressive. For my sides, I got the cajun fires and the cucumber salad. The cucumber salad was more of a bunch of chopped pickles, not as refreshing as I expected. The cajun fries had a nice crisp, although a tad on the saltier than I would like with the seasoning. I got takeout and everything was packaged well. I wish I had more pictures to share, but this is going to be my go to wing place in Long Beach. I am a all of her of Asian fusion food and I love the fact that the flavors here are very much Asian inspired. Not only that I feel like they fix the food when you order. I've been here now three times and my food is always extremely hot. Items that I've tried here is the fried fish. I really liked it the next time I order it I would just tell him to fry the fish a little bit harder, but it was very well seasoned it with flavorful. I have also had the Cajun shrimp except I did not get the Cajun I got the house sauce on them and it was not what I thought it was going to be the house sauce is a little bit more water down then thick, but it had a really good taste. Next time I think I'll go ahead and try to Cajun. And of course I have had the wings and I have had no complaints about any of the sauces that I've tried. I love the house special and also the garlic Parmesan those are probably my top, but I've tried the others and they are good too. Just the fried wings with no sauce is really good too! I recently went in and there was a young lady that helped me and she wasn't as friendly. She wasn't engaging and she actually forgot to put fries in our order and we end up having to wait close to 10 minutes to get the fries. Good thing is we got hot fries, but I didn't like the fact that she went back-and-forth with me about the fries not being in the bag when I told her they weren't.
