I called yesterday to make my dad an appointment as a new patient. They were able to put him on the schedule same day. Nurses are very nice and accomodating. Dr John Ling was able to explain the cause and treatment needed, right there and then he made sure to refer us out to the retina specialist possibly same day or the next. Awesome bedside manner! The nurses walked us out to the front office, then front office called the specialist, was able to schedule my dad again same day. Made sure that before we left their office, the forms, referral, pictures and insurance info were already taken care of and sent to the other office. Very organized, excellent service! read more

I have my follow up visit today and I couldn't be more grateful to this office, friendly accomodating staff, and very compassionate technicians and Dr's. These are already difficult and stressful times, so when you wake up with a possible eye infection and in pain you can only hope to find the help you need fast, but still keep your safety and health protocals in motion. I called and spoke with Alannie who was so understanding over phone, after describing my symptoms she gave me an appointment within the hour. Was brought in only after checking in and being cleared by attendant outside office as they are taking every precaution with CDC guidelines. I was brought in by super sweet tech (didn't catch her name!) who attentively took notes and heard me out on all of my concerns. Dr. Carl Hartman than gave me a thorough exam and was so detailed in diagnosis. It never felt rushed, on the contrary they are working with my general Dr forwarding their findings and recommendations. I want to recognize how well the staff treated me during my appointment today regarding my eye pressure check. I was met by excellent receptionists who had great positive attitudes regarding my completing a couple of documents. Next, I was greeted by Brisa who was outstanding. She made me feel very comfortable since this was the first time I had a detailed procedure on my eyes with an ophthalmologist. She also had an excellent positive attitude throughout the preliminary checking of my eyes including the dilating procedure which I have not experienced! An excellent overall review which made me feel very comfortable during all the pre-tests before seeing the doctor. After the dilating I waited about 20 minutes for the eye drops to complete the process then I was taken to another examination room to see Dr. Lung. He was very pleasant and described the results of the testing in a positive manner for me to understand. Did not rush through the meeting after checking all test results/and performing some more detailed testing on my eyes. He wanted to be sure about the back of the eye in detail. This would be an OCT test checking for glaucoma for cataracts in depth. (OPTICAL COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY) I scheduled an appointment for next month. All in all, everyone who I was connected with were very positive and caring! I would certainly recommend SoCal eye in Lakewood, CA for your extensive checking of your eyes! read more

After 2 months of trying to make an appointment with this group I give up. I was put on hold everyrime I called and twice instead of getting picked back up there was a hang up. Once I was on hold and no one picked back up at all. The receptionist insisted that they didn't take my insurance. After a couple of weeks i finally proved that they did indeed take my insurance. They insisted on a referral even though my insurance doesn't require it. My doctor sent them a referral twice and they claimed they didn't get it. I hate to trash a place but this was my experience. read more

All I was told was sorry for the wait this is after seeing several people who checked in thirty minutes after I signed in.. only reason I continue to go here is because of Dr Pasqualli. Fantastic office for eye exams as well as urgent eye problems! Staff was the utmost friendly from the front doorman to the doctor doing the exam with his assistant. There was a training in process with a new hire & the trainer was the most professional & patient with the trainee. I would want to train here as an eye professional! UPDATE: NOT BECAUSE YOU, CARL HARTMAN, ASKED, BUT BECAUSE OF HOW ABSURD THE SITUATION IS. I was able to 'see' Carl Hartman, Ronald Hartman, Larry Pasquali, and Ted Pasquali over the past month or so. No pun intended. Initally I wanted to see Ronald Hartman or Carl Hartman due to good feedback from fellow yelpers; however I wasn't able to make an appointment due to extremely busy schedules. I finally landed an appointment with Carl Hartman 2 weeks later even though I told the front desk my eye was flaring up (red, swollen, painful). First was CARL HARTMAN. This was when I learned they read my review, and held a meeting to discuss. My condition was also diagnosed as Thygesons. After, he asked me to change my review, and introduced me to Ted Pasquali. I never saw him ever again because he was on vacation since. lol. Later that week, Dani Lopez reached out to me and apologized for the terrible front desk situation. Thank you for that, but you shouldn't be the one apologizing. So I have been seeing TED PASQUALI since then until today. Ted is a great guy. He monitors my progress. I had to reschedule a week prior, and they said Ted was not available until 2 weeks after, so they set me up with an appointment with Ronald Hartman. Jackpot? I didn't even ask for Ronald, but I am more than happy to see him. The man who is "virtually impossible to see". No pun intended. When I arrive I meet the tech in a white coat. Conversing with him, he basically gave off the vibe that I shouldn't see Ronald, and I should see Ted. But I couldn't? An hour and a half passes and Larry Pasquali comes in fully dressed for surgery? Ronald is nowhere to be found. Thank you LARRY PASQUALI, for seeing me. The best eye doctor I've seen in a year. Nice, caring, and attentive. The only thing is I don't have Thygesons? I don't know what my condition is other than my cornea looking like it has a rash. I ask about Ronald and why he isn't here. Larry said someone told him that I didn't want to see Ronald?? What??? Larry offered to get Ronald to see me, and it was a waste of time. RONALD HARTMAN obviously did not want to see me. He basically said to me that no one knows the reason about my eye condition and he isn't god. Wow. All in all, thank you Larry for seeing me. I would give Larry Pasquali 4-5 stars as a doctor, but my overall experience with the front desk, other doctors, and tech was absolutely horrendous. I also want to clarify. I have nothing against SHRIFI? Corneal Specialist. My major concern is his tech needs to be changed. She lies about my condition and he believes in her more than what I say, which added more complications to this shit show. I never knew going to an eye doctor would be such a pain and hassle. The medical treatment is fine, but making an appointment is extremely hard. They have an answering system that tells you to leave a number and you will be called back in 24 to 48 hours and they never did. Called again, they never did. Kept trying until I got lucky and got a live person who booked the appointment. I called back a couple of weeks later to verify the appointment and got the same process. I never got called back. How can you become a patient when you don't get called back to make an appointment? read more

The wait is always over an hour even with a prescheduled appt. Earliest appts are 3 weeks to a month away. Sitting here now, it's 5:33p and appt was 4:20p. We're paying cash for a stye removal and there's no other appts as the office is now closed but we're still here waiting.... I agree with the others that say the wait is ridiculous. read more

I must thank Dr Hartman and his staff for the great job he did restoring my sight. This was my second cataract surgery. Left was done by Dr Hartman in 2016 and holding up strong! My right eye this year went down hill fast, ended up completely blind, could only see a yellow light. I was concerned, just had my surgery this week. I went for blind in the eye to 20/20 in about 30 minutes!!! No pain, no complications. I can not recommend a doctor more than the service they provided me! You can not go wrong with them. read more
