This review is actually about a visit almost 3 years ago. Look at my reviews, you'll notice I try to only post positive reviews as I recognize we all have bad or "off" days here and there, and I know the power of the Yelp-machine to break good, hard working small businesses based on a few bad reviews. Human nature predisposes us to complain more loudly than we praise, ergo my unwritten policy. However, driving past Snyder Diamond still make me seethe each and every time. So, time to get it off my chest. Buckle up kids, I'm gonna complain. Allow my frustration be your cautionary tale... I was getting ready to renovate my home. I knew I wanted to drop a pretty penny as I'd been having kitchen envy lately and had worked hard for many years. I was pretty certain I wanted a Thermador appliance suite, but wanted to see other brands in situ and not just in a glossy magazine or on the internet. My designer had recommended a great little appliance place in La Canada. It was a rare, rainy Saturday in SoCal. Sorry folks, im not doing my hair or wearing nice clothes. I want to be comfy as I prepare to drop some dough. We start at MD in La Canada. Those guys were welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was ready to buy, but decide I really want to see a larger showroom that also had plumbing fixtures...so, off down the 210 we go. Arrive at Snyder Diamond. It's the SO, his 20yo daughter, and myself. We walk in and are obviously ignored. There were refreshments set up near the door. The lady who walked in with the designer purse, teacup pooch, and diamonds was promptly greeted by not one, but two salespeople near the doors and offered warm coffee. "Shake it off," I tell myself. "You're on a mission." We decide to divide and conquer the large, sparkly showroom. Not one "hello," "welcome," or "can I offer any assistance?" I was getting frustrated. In the kitchen displays, I saw an ultra-modern layout and was interested in the brand displayed (don't even remember which one now) and had a question. We now try intentionally to get assistance and were still ignored. I look up to see two ladies up in mezzanine/design area looking down at us. I make eye contact and prepare to ask up for help. They. Both. Turned. Their. Backs. Complete ridiculousness and I am furious. As no one would assist us with questions, we decide to leave. Here's the thing: I saw plumbing fixtures and all appliances I wanted to purchase here. It would've been nice to place one order for all. Being that most high end appliances are price fixed, who you purchase from is a choice we decided to make based on the customer service. Apparently, based on appearances, my $20K cash was not as good as the other people in the showroom who were being fawned over by multiple salespeople. Out we went never to look back. Back on the 210 to La Canada where we purchased a 36" Thermador range, Thermador dishwasher, Sharp Microwave drawer, Kitchen Aid fridge, and a custom range hood from a group of wonderful people at MD Appliances (818-790-2700). Just writing this has stoked anger. This was a blatant case of judging books by covers. It cost Snyder Diamond my sale for sure, and I hope you will think twice before gracing their doors with your wonderful yelper self. I cannot praise MD Appliances enough. I also highly recommend a visit to Pirch in Glendale, or the Ferguson showroom on Lake Ave. in Pasadena if you are looking for design ideas. From me, Snyder Diamond has earned one star, solely based on the amount of different items and brands on display. read more

Each salesperson negotiates their own pricing. My friend and I received quotes for the exact same bathroom fixtures and toilet from two different salespeople and the difference in price was about $200 on a $2500 order. It is luck of the draw which salesperson you get. read more

I have a mixed feeling about this place. I love the selection they have at the showroom. As a woman, I can easily spend hours browsing everything here. Believe it or not, it's actually very fun. My husband would tell you to keep your wife at home if you are going to visit this place. Unlike Best Buy and Pacific Sales, there's no price tag on every single item at Snyder Diamond. We were given a discount at checkout for buying more than 1 item, which was nice yet made me wonder how deep the discount could actually have gone IF I knew it was available. While I was checking out the Thermador Induction Cooktop, I was told to "be careful" because the cooktop is plugged in and it might burn my hands when its turned out. Well, one of the top features of this cooktop is that it does NOT burn hands. It's obvious the sale person there don't really know their stuff and it may seem bit unprofessional to some. read more

purchased a hansgrohe shower head from a so called advisor who seems to have a problem making eye contact. went back with shower head two days later to explain to same inept adviser that i needed the proper holder for this new shower head. he informed he did not have it in stock and it would take up to tree weeks to get it. He then inform that under california law he could not take shower back because it was used even though it was not used . He then went on to explain the law to me two more times even though i never even asked him to take it back . i told him to order correct shower holder . Three week later holder came in and guess what it was the wrong one, not even close. I went on amazon and got the correct holder shipped to my house 3 days later and I noticed the same shower head on amazon for $50 less than what I paid a Snyder diamond. He was super helpful with helping me to choose the right item and helped me out even after the sales was done with some tip to plumber for installation. Nearly two years ago my wife and I went into Snyder Diamond (Pasadena) and purchased a new Dishwasher. Recently one of the plastic wheels that enable the bottom rack to roll in and out of the unit fell off. I took the rack onto the store and asked the gentlemen in the parts department if I could order a single wheel. They said it was possible, but instead of waiting for it to be shipped, they gave me a wheel from a floor model and sent me on my way. Over the past 20 years and a huge kitchen remodel, we've spent nearly $20K at the store. BUT these gentlemen had no way of knowing this fact. As of now, we're customers for life. read more

Honestly it took longer and more phone calls than I would have thought reasonable to get the issues resolved but once the manager, Brian, got involved we were able to get a replacement fridge under warranty. By far one of the most incompetent, fraudulent, shady, two-stepping, half-ass shuffling, misrepresenting, companies I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. After talking with multiple sales-reps at both the Santa Monica and Pasadena locations, I concluded these people are either purposely deceptive and misrepresenting the products they are selling or wholly clueless and unknowledgeable about the products they are attempting to sell. Either characteristic is absolutely unacceptable in a business. I initially contacted Synder Diamond to purchase a specific bathtub. After giving sales reps the tub specifications and model number, I was quoted a price by multiple reps at both the Santa Monica and Pasadena locations. Reps from both Santa Monica and Pasadena locations claimed Synder Diamond is able to price the particular tub I wanted competitively, because Synder Diamond has a "special relationship" with the tub manufacturer, buys the bathtubs in bulk, and stocks them at their warehouse; thus allowing them to sell the tub at a price considerably below the manufacturer list price. However; after further research, and a call to the company that actually manufactures the bathtub I learned that the tub Synder Diamond was attempting to sell me was an inferior Contractor grade product (with lower grade specifications- made of thinner/cheaper material, and had different measurements) which Synder Diamond made a claim was the higher-grade product I wanted to buy. After pointing this discrepancy out to Synder Diamond, a sales rep got "approval" to sell me the higher grade product that I originally wanted at the price they had repeatedly quoted me. I was all set to buy the bathtub, BUT; because, I had been given incorrect information multiple times before I told the sales rep to provide me with the serial number of the new tub they were going to sell me. I called the tub manufacturer, gave them the serial number and found out Synder Diamond was once again misrepresenting the product they were about to sell me. The sales reps kept insisting the particular tub, I was set to buy was from the "designer" series which had the specifications I wanted, but the tub Synder Diamond was claiming to be from the "designer" line was actually, once again a contractor grade product which is made from thinner gage material, does not have the same measurements, and ultimately is an economy product which Synder Diamond was trying to pass off as a higher-end product line. Throughout this fiasco, Synder Diamond sales reps and eventually a nitwit "manager" played the role of the dumb bumbling idiot, "... ope-dee-doh, we don't know... we're trying to sell these products, representing them as the wrong thing (SHHHH don't say anything-- gotta get my commision); but, what's that? You looked the product up, instead of listening to our b.s?!! OOPS... shrug-shrug... we made an accident?" Hence, dealing with Synder Diamond has been a total waste of time. read more

The overall service at Snyder Diamond is unprofessional. I recently purchased new Hansgrohe shower and bathtub fixtures for two bathroom remodel projects as well as two Empire Industries Daytona Vanities, spending several thousand dollars. The sales person has been very professional, but the overall feeling I get from everyone around her, is a culture that just doesn't care about the customers or co-workers. One-on-one they do a fine job, when someone focuses in on helping to solve your needs, however, the second your order requires effort from someone else within the company, like the cashier or warehouse person, all bets are off. It's like we are bothering them (both me and the sales person who helped me). My first sense of this was when I went to make my first purchase and the cashier treated the sales person who wrote up my order as if she was incompetent. Prior to my ordering the vanities, I was warned that Empire Industries has a track record of goods sometimes arriving damaged from their new jersey location, but that the issues were always resolved. Several weeks after I placed the order, my vanities were in and I asked them to please inspect the items seeing as they've had problems with Empire in the past. Looking back on it, they didn't bother. A few days later, when I called ahead to let them know when I was ready to come get the boxes, I asked to have them ready for me (as it was my lunch break). When I arrived they were not ready and had boxes stacked on top of the units, and none of the required paperwork had been prepared allowing for me to take the items. So I waited. When I got home and unpacked the boxes, sure enough, one of the two vanities arrived with a bent leg. I notified Snyder Diamond of the issue and as usual the sales person was attentive to my needs and understanding of my wanting to correct the issue quickly. However, when it came time to rely on others, due to her being out of the office for several days, things fell apart. I'd been waiting to hear from them (bathroom sitting empty with no sink for a week) after being informed they would contact Empire and figure out a game plan. I finally called them to ask how they were going to correct the problem and they said they spoke with the company and they'd be sending replacement parts. When I asked why replacement parts... and who on this end would be repairing the $1100 vanity, they said "I'm sure someone in our shipping warehouse can fix it." This was not acceptable to me. I let them know I was returning the unit and would be expecting a new and un-damaged replacement. This morning when we dropped off the damaged vanity, once again, folks hardly took responsibility for receiving the item. It was as if we were bothering them by bringing in the item for return. No one could tell us when they'd be placing an order for the replacement (which has been paid in full) nor would they provide anything showing we had even returned the item (a receipt or signature or something) or if in fact the leg was indeed damaged (no one cared to look for themselves). Overall, I am feeling like I should not purchase anything else from Snyder Diamond even though I still need new toilets, faucets and a refrigerator. I am not digging the service, nor the way they treat customers or how they treat each other for that matter. read more

GREAT products, pooooooor customer service. Like ONE star. With a major purchase and delivery on $15,000 work of appliances it would be helpful to know that the installation NOT included. Now I have to consider if it is worth all the money I spent to be treated to a third-party installer and my sales guy just saying "oh well, that's how we do it" Obviously, I am not the least bit thrilled. Love the show room selection, nice cashier (who was patient with our delivery date), but there is a need for improvement on communication of delivery, set up, and extended warranty details. Started out solid - got lots of help selecting a $1600 dishwasher, ordered it ... all virtually. Was told 2-4 weeks for delivery ... 2 days ago I emailed to confirm it was on time since my delivery was set for today. Today - on the actual delivery day - I got an email from the sales person telling me that it was on backorder until mid-July. I could buy a lesser model to arrive in 6 weeks... or a much more expensive model is in stock. Asked for a refund and am really disappointed. They clearly could've known sooner this was an issue and not wasted my weeks. On the hunt for a new store. read more

It is true that customer service is not the best here. I walked in with my husband and no one even looked at us for half an hour while we toured the whole store as I was going to need to buy everything for a new home. We were saying that this store doesn't need our business, and as business owners ourselves, which we base our business on customer service, we expect the same when we go shopping. As we were leaving their personal shopper, KIM CLARKE, who only works with contractors asked if we needed help. Even tho we were upset, we still talked to her because she was really nice. She apologized and brought the manager over and eventually we ended up buying everything here. I think between my construction, I came here at least 20-30 times, and I looked at the sales people and just thought how rude they are. They are on their phones or talking to each other while Kim would help me and ask customers if they need help. I would probably not shop here if Kim can't help me. Even tho I bought everything, I still need things in the near future, like the bbq area. And businesses should want to bring customers back and have a good word of mouth reputation. I am leaving one star out because the delivery and install process was not as pleasant. I wish it was more clear about the curb drop off and not installing. I had to pay another guy almost $1000 for installing all the appliances. I had no clue it could cost me that much to install. I suggest this be clearer for future deliveries so people are not surprised. I recommend that if you want customer service, you ask for Kim, and Brian the manager. read more

Just wanted to put in a review for Snyder diamond and the awesome experience I've had working with Ray and Celia. They were on top of the orders I needed for my project and worked seamlessly with my contractor and made my project feel like a priority for them. I have since recommended Ray, Celia, and Snyder diamond to any and all of my friends or family that are doing any kind of project. Months after my project, I can call Ray or Celia and they still remember me and provide only the best customer service, attention, and care. They take pride in their work and deliver on any promises made, even during some difficult times during The pandemic. My project finished on time with all appliances and hardware during the pandemic. Kudos to my contractor, but kudos to Snyder diamond, Ray, and Celia as well. read more

I wish I could give them six stars! I needed a new washer & dryer. My first instinct was to go to one of those huge home improvement/hardware stores. (I won't mention their name, but it began with "H.") They promised two-day delivery, but that meant five days. And then when delivery day came, nothing happened. I looked on their website, and saw that my delivery had been pushed out another five days, because "their truck couldn't go up my street." They didn't bother to let me know. So I called Snyder Diamond in Pasadena, which has an excellent reputation, and thought, "well, I'll probably pay more because they're so good, but they can probably deliver on time." A kind fellow (Raymond Deravakian) took my order, and when all the dust settled, the final price was several hundred dollars lower than the "H store." And, they did indeed deliver within two days. Delivery was handled by Mr. John Robles and Mr. Ricardo Perez. They were totally professional (and super nice guys) and not at all bothered by some odd features of my older home that made appliance delivery and installation more challenging than most places. Everything worked out fine, and I couldn't be happier. I don't look forward to needing to replace another major appliance....but if/when that occurs, I will call use Snyder Diamond without question. FYI, and off-topic of this review, the washer/dryer I got was the Electrolux 676 front-load washer and gas dryer. They are amazing machines. read more

This place is terrible! I have remodeled 3 of my 5 homes the first 2 I purchased my appliances and fixtures at the old Pacific Sales in Burbank long before Best Buy bought them out. For my 3rd home I decided to go to Snyder Daimond in Pasadena and what a mistake! For those of you that have gone to this store, you know what I'm about to say is very, very, true! This is a high end appliance and fixture store and with that said, here we go... The first time I shopped at this store my salesperson was Jason very nice, very knowledgeable I purchased all of my kitchen appliances 10's of thousands of dollars from Jason great guy everything went well... Now it came time to spend 10's of thousands for kitchen and bathroom fixtures... and this is where it all went bad... You would think that as meany times that I've been in this store the staff would know regular customers? Wrong! I had spent 10's of thousands on the kitchen appliances and 10's of thousands on kitchen fixtures as well... Now it's time to spend 10's of thousands on bathroom fixtures and I can't even get anyone to help me? What? Are they kidding? You can easily spend over 100K per home but you will have to beg someone in fixtures to help you at Snyder Daimond. Stopped in here to look for a new stove as our appliance repair person said ours was beyond repair. The Snyder Diamond salesperson gave us a recommendation for another appliance repair company (American Home Appliances) that would do good work on our DCS stove. The company repaired our stove today and it's working great. I really appreciate an honest company like this that would recommend a repair company rather than just selling us a new appliance. I will be back to Snyder Diamond for further purchases. Kudo's to them for honesty! read more

We had a rather complicated purchase here the other day--a Subzero refrigerator that had to work within the tight space of our previous Subzero. These refrigerators are not cheap, and we had to get everything right. Larry helped us through the whole process. He spent a ton of time with us, explaining everything, and figuring out exactly what we needed so there'd be no unpleasant surprises at the end. Not only was Larry extremely helpful--he was funny as hell. That was an unexpected bonus. Our refrigerator arrived this morning, with the required retrofit kit, and everything is perfect. It fits perfectly into the space and looks great. So thank you Larry. Oh, and this Snyder Diamond is located in a beautiful historic building, which makes shopping there especially pleasant. read more

I wish I could give a zero star rating here. I am floored by what just happened. After spending about 15k on new appliances the delivery men have the audacity to tell me that they will not actually deliver the item inside my home. They tell me that it's curbside delivery. It is absolutely the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard of. What kind of customer service is that. I could have gotten better service from an online vendor or a big box store. The sales associate that I worked with never told me of this ridiculous policy. If you want to have them brought in your actual home you need to hire a seperate company. Unreal! This is not how you treat customers especially those who are spending substantial dollars in your store. Never will I give this company my business again and I suggest others do the same. read more

We have done business with Snyder Diamond Pasadena, several times before and always been very pleased with their sales force and quality products. So when our refrigerator died suddenly on Saturday night we immediately thought "Snyder". And we were so glad we did! The wife went in and was helped by Michael Sasson. As one can imagine, because of the supply problems during Covid it was a real challenge finding anything suitable for the configuration of our kitchen before fall, 2023. (That's right- 2023!) What to do? Michael worked wonders and managed to find one ((yes, one) refrigerator anywhere in the known universe that would do the trick given size constraints, etc. And delivery was rushed due to our circumstance. The two fellows doing the delivery and installation were a delight to work with. Very professional and accommodating . All in all, a HUGE "thank you" to Michael and Snyder Diamond for going the extra mile for us at a very stressful time. read more

They do carry great stuffs in this store but customer service is poor. I was in the process of remodeling my kitchen and looking for Vikings and Thermadore high end stuffs. Unfortunately, the sales was not friendly and having the expectations you may not afford it. So i end up buying from California kitchen and spend over $50k with them. I forgot to buy a sink and California kitchen went out of business after 3 months later. Bummer, great place and nice people. So i went to this store whom my contractor recommended and order a $1395.00 Blanko sink. The asian salesperson was quite helpful and i decided to give him the sale. The sink had to be deliver from another store from santa monica and it takes 3 days to get back here in pasadena. O.k. I wait. When i called inquiring if my sink had come in, very unpleasantly NO. The guy say 40 mins then turn out end of the day. So i pick up the next day, pay for it. The cashier doesnt even smile nor a thank you. The guy loaded up my car, didnt even care if it fits and walk away. Well, let me tell you, bad customer services, no repeat customer for sure. Then i found it online for $250 less. I am replacing Miehle, fisher Paykel and sub Zero appliances with new ones, potentialy a large sale. .The salespeople ignore you. When I asked for assistance, the salesperson, a man decked out in earrings and a matching necklace, was at first helpful and then very condescending I got the impression he wanted me to leave the store. I pride myself on getting things done. I hate to say it, but I couldn't get any action, and it took my husband to place a phone call to "Mr. Diamond" to get help. Coincidentally, the infamous part came in on the Friday the part was promised. Mr. Diamond returned my husband's call the same day, and called back to confirm the part was in and ready to be picked up. On a positive note, I will have to say that Mr. Diamond showed more customer service than his staff. On the flipside, being a feminist, it saddens me you have to have a deep voice and an appendage to get action and/or respect at Snyder-Diamond. read more

This is a huge showroom. They have most high-end appliances on display which is great when you wanna see stuff in person. I had some (Viking) appliances in mind that I wanted to check out. But the sale person kinda talked me out of getting what I want. Instead he was trying to get me to buy Jenair which I'm not too fond of the design. I wasn't sure if it was sale commission or what. So I ended up leaving the place so confused. I didn't buy anything. read more

This is our go to place for kitchen appliances. They sell much higher end brands than what sears has to offer but dont let high end scare you off. They actually have really good prices. Jason Chen is our salesman and we love him. We send everyone to him! He's friendly, patient and doesn't try to over sell you. Downside is that the store closes early 5 or 6. For my 100th Yelp review I decided to write about something other than food. To me, non-food reviews are a little suspect because you wonder, did the salesperson insist on a 5-star Yelp review at the conclusion of the sale? I assure you that here, there was none of that. Having shopped at Ferguson and Pacific Sales , I think Synder Diamond has: - the best showroom - the most informed and knowledgeable salespeople; and - the ability to compete on pricing There's no substitute for doing your own research, but whether you know a lot or next to nothing, having someone knowledgeable to talk to allows you to make better decisions. read more
