What a refreshing experience. I needed a new washer/dryer and without thinking much about it I bought one online from the LG website. What a nightmare. They didn't show up to deliver then scheduled the next delivery for 2 days later when I wasn't available. All phone calls are routed to the Philippines and no one was able to help me. I cancelled that order and went to MD Appliances. I went in feeling so angry and frustrated with this situation and was treated with such kindness, I left feeling so much better and I also left with a new washer/dryer! They were even able to arrange same day delivery because I live so close. Their prices are the same as the LG site. The store is very clean and welcoming. Definitely a high end appliance store but with reasonable prices. The delivery guys are GREAT too! Super professional, knowledgeable, and fast. My only regret with this whole experience is not looking to buy locally first. read more

After three rounds of site evaluation and two rounds of ordering ranges recommended to me by them, I gave up and requested a refund and proceeded to Pacific Sales to start over. I don't understand if the problem was the sales staff or the installer doing the site evaluation, but I do know that the problem was not the paying customer. The owner, however, felt it was appropriate to raise his voice and threaten me, a customer who has purchased several appliances from them and referred friends to them for the past 20 years. Lowe's kept giving me the runaround on the rare occasion that they even answered the phone. I can't say enough about the customer service I recently received at MD Appliance a couple weeks ago. On December 22 my KitchenAid Sub Zero refrigerator completely died, filled with food ready for the Christmas holidays. Hours spent at Costco, Ralph's and Trader Joe's were in the frig, all about to spoil. I called Pacific Sales hoping they might have a new one to replace the broken one with. Was told it would be March or April before they could deliver. Called MD Appliances...desperate. Dan answered, said they had a beautiful stainless Sub Zero in stock, exactly what I wanted!!! However he said there wouldn't be an installer available until after Christmas. I was disappointed, but knew I was lucky to even have a refrigerator available, so said OK I'd take it and wait until after Christmas to install. 30 minutes later, Dan called me back saying "do you believe in Santa?" He found an installer who came on Christmas Eve, spent the entire morning, and by the afternoon I was ready to go! He went above and beyond to make it work for me! Dan, Dave, Dillon and Amy were absolutely amazing and I won't shop anywhere else for appliances, and neither should you! Careful. We went here expecting customer service when we needed a replacement part. All they do is refer you to the manufacturer for replacements and service. We have now spent way too much time navigating automated phone messages to find the part we need. Honestly if the brick and mortar shops are just gonna brush you off when you need help after you buy the appliance, you might as well just go online or to a big box store. I made the mistake of believing that paying top tier prices in a boutique environment would translate to better customer service. Here's where that's gone wrong: 1. Terry had little patience for the questions I had as a novice appliance purchaser. And, actively made me feel foolish for not intuitively knowing that delivery charges are not included and needed to be scheduled with a 3rd party. 2. My Miele dishwasher is now awaiting its 4th service call in its first 18 months in my home. At the time of purchase, I was assured that MD had relationships with dealers so they could intervene on behalf of the consumer. However, as of this most recent issue (9/7/19) I've been informed that they call the same service hotline that I do. Except, they are not open on Mondays, so it continues to be better for me to call on my own. 3. The service people they recommended I use for installation of my microwave installed it completely slanted - Not just a minor cosmetic issue, an actual unworkable issue. After an hour, I had to ask them to reinstall it. In the process, they started a small kitchen fire on my stovetop (the microwave is over the stove top) during the re-install. I could have gotten the level of service available here at any big box store, but could have taken advantage of discounts. read more

I was very disappointed in my experience purchasing a high end kitchen appliance here. There was a long wait time for the appliance to come in, which was common at the time. However when it finally was installed after months of waiting, it was defective and didn't work at all. Dylan, my salesperson, seemed completely uninterested and unapologetic about the fact that the product he sold me didn't work. I realize that he was just the middle man but this reflects extremely poor customer service and I wouldn't recommend this business at all. read more

I was recommended this place by our real estate agent. I went in looking for a kitchen hood and dishwasher. I went to the shop and they had a great selection on view and in catalogs. I heard they used to be in a smaller shop, but this one on Foothill was great. I never felt like they were trying to oversell anything for me. I ended up buying a moderately priced (actually cheap, by comparison) kitchen hood, and a medium to upper end dishwasher that's highly recommended by both them, consumer reports, and our neighbor. I did some price comparison and could've bought it for $50 cheaper going through Pacific Sales (Best Buy), but that isn't worth the saving considering the attention to detail, quick turn around, and ability to get my sales person with a very quick phone call. In our case we didn't have a prior dishwasher, so we needed someone to install the appliances, and they recommended Accurate Appliance, which came through excellently and reasonably. read more

So disappointed with the LaCanada store. Bought Thermador fridge, microwave, 2 ovens and a 6 burner stove as well as a dishwasher and grill. Microwave and stove didn't work upon instillation. We called and was immediately pushed to Thermador. Two months later we had a technician come and assess the items. Wasn't able to fix either appliance and was told they're ordering parts with no definitive time table when he'll be back or when it will work properly. The worst customer experience ever. We are planning on redoing our kitchen and decided to check out MD APPLIANCES because we'd heard so many good things about them from friends who had gone through remodels themselves. Terry was the salesperson who walked us through all the options. She didn't try to sway us with one brand or the other, but told us her experiences as a cook who actually uses the appliances she sells. Some of the new products are foreign to us (ie. steam/conv combi ovens; built-in coffee makers), so she shared a lot of "user friendly" and "learning curve" information. She gave us plenty of time, answered all our questions, and sent us a quote that evening. The prices were comparable to a large appliance store we had visited a few days earlier in Pasadena. We wanted to buy from Terry, and were disappointed to find out that our designer was adamant that we use "his guy." My wife and I visited MD Appliances in search of a dishwasher because our Miele wasn't functioning at its highest level... glasses and silverware were often stained and at times, unclean. David Wheeler, from whom we had purchased a washer/drier combo a couple of years back, assisted us and instead of rushing to sell us a new dishwasher, he questioned us about the machine's efficiency and tried to reason why it wasn't operating at a higher level. He had a few ideas about how to improve the Miele's performance and after presenting us with a sample of a detergent he liked, he sent us off to test his ideas. Turns out he was dead right and after taking the steps he suggested, the Miele is once again working as if it were new. We were so impressed that David hadn't insisted upon selling us a new machine. He is a man of character and integrity... not out to make the fast buck... a throwback to the days when a man's character defined him. We're customers for life, of course. Some day the Miele will expire and for certain, David will find us a new one. As will be the case with any other appliances we might require. He went a long way to restoring our faith in an America we thought didn't exist any more. read more

This place is terrific, and Valerie is awesome. I needed a new refrigerator and was constrained by the size of the cut-out in my kitchen. Valerie found several different models that would fit, and I appreciated that she didn't try to sell me on the top-of-the line but let me see the different choices that were available. I settled on a mid-range Whirlpool that fit all my needs and I am delighted with it. The delivery service was equally good; George was courteous, prompt and thorough. I will never go anywhere else for my appliances in the future. This is what full-service should be, and their prices are in line with the big box stores so why go through the hassle. read more

Horrible customer service. Had to call about issues twice and was told to contact the installers. When I asked for that phone number they had no idea which installer they had contacted! One of the complaints was that the installer opened the dishwasher packaging to find the machine completely damaged due to? being dropped. Called MD to complain and was told "Well that isn't our fault we don't inspect the appliances!" So I would just order on line as these sales people are totally unhelpful. read more

I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews. I highly recommend MD Appliances. We are in the middle of remodeling our kitchen and need to replace nearly every appliance. We had been to Pacific Sales countless times, Home Depot, Lowe's, and several mom-and-pop appliance shops. We ended up purchasing everything from MD--professional grade range/oven, hood, built-in microwave, and dishwasher. We will eventually be back to buy a new fridge, too. We like MD for a number of reasons. First, they don't try and up-sell you on the more expensive items. We splurged on our stove. I am a cheapskate but I also love to cook, so it was the one thing that I was OK about going overboard in our kitchen. Plus, I felt like it would add to the re-sale of our house in years to come. (Can't you tell I'm trying to convince myself it was acceptable to buy a stove for the price of a small vehicle?) With that said, I didn't want to spend $4,000-$5,000 on the matching hood. Dave was instrumental in helping us choose a high quality hood that had the power we needed at a price within our budget. As far as ranges/ovens go, MD's prices are the same as anywhere you'd find Thermador, Wolf, or Viking. Those companies set their prices the same, so unless you buy it used somewhere, you won't find it for less anywhere else. The employees at MD are knowledgeable about their merchandise. We were initially looking for a bigger built-in microwave and were even hoping to get a convection microwave, but changed our minds after David and another employee showed us a much smaller model that would fit better in our cabinets without jutting out and looking ugly, while still being as functional as we needed it. The same mentality followed when we were selecting a hood. A salesperson from another store was trying to convince me I needed to buy a much more powerful hood to the tune of $4,000, and told me if I didn't, we would "likely" have a grease fire in our vent that would burn down the house. So not true. I did plenty of research online after hearing the warning of alleged imminent fire peril, and then the folks at MD confirmed that I didn't need a crazy restaurant level hood to keep my house from burning down. It's clear that their main goal is to make you happy, not to line their pockets. MD's prices are competitive when it comes to their dishwashers. (They have flexibility on many of those, unlike with the professional grade stoves). We were able to get a great deal on a dishwasher that had more features than we would have gotten had we bought the similar model from that brand at a big chain store. We haven't gotten our appliances yet, but we're looking forward to our new kitchen! There is a small delivery fee, but the other savings and fantastic customer service more than make up for it. MD has high-quality products and a large selection. The store is clean and well-organized. This is a great store and we've had great customer service in all of our interactions thus far! read more
