Another awesome meal. My wife and I have been patrons of Snuffers for over 30 years. We first got introduced to the location on lower Greenville which was awesome. We have seen locations come and go due to different issues and even to the change of ownership by Pat Snuffer to the owners of the El Fenix chain. I am so glad that they have not changed things and ran it into the ground like most companies do. We still consider this one of the best burger places around. Our normal combination is the Swiss cheese burger cooked medium with an order of cheddar fries and chips and hot sauce for starters. Came for a work lunch around 11:45 on a Wednesday and we were seated promptly in a booth. Service was quick and multiple waitresses came by to check up on us and top off our drinks during the meal. The table split a large cheese fries with all the fixings, I got lemonade and the Dakburger, medium rare. Food was excellent, very filling. I love this place. The food is extremely consistent and I like to order my food with lots of details!! No raw onion...it needs to be sautéed onion! I LOVE the crispy breading on the mushrooms and the staff will provide all the ranch you can drink. The bartenders always remember me and often just set my drink of choice down without asking. They are also wonderful about checking me in and asking if I want to use any of my rewards from the app. The manager always recognizes me and has a kind word and I see her busting her a** to help the staff when they are in a rush. For lunch we ordered take-out today. One of the items ordered was a bacon, guacamole cheeseburger. One of the key words in that description is "guacamole". Fast service, new location, very filling meal! We had the fried pickles and they were so good. I think they beat Chilis and really have a mouthwatering, battered flavor to them. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with avocado slices and my hubbs and I shared some cheese fries. The food was all delicious and I couldn't finish my burger but I get all veggies on my burgers too so perhaps that is why I got full faster. I was pleasantly surprised by this Snuffers location! We got take out last night and loved everything we got. We both ordered the bacon cheeseburger as it comes, and an order of loaded cheese fries because... well... there's just no other way to do Snuffers. The fries were AWESOME. Crispy on the outside and soft, pillowy potato on the inside, and they didn't get soggy under the cheese. The cheese was still melty and stringy, not hard and overdone like a lot of places who offer cheese fries as an option. They also came topped with chopped scallions and bacon bits. Yum. The burger was really good--cooked to order with not too much going on, just a simple burger. The bacon was really thick too, which is always a plus. The poppyseed bun threw me off at first, but I actually really liked it! I feel like part of my reason for giving this place a 4 is because I was also impressed by their ability to be consistent and deliver quality while still being a pretty expansive chain restaurant. You don't see that a lot these days, so I was a bit taken aback. Prices are also relatively good, especially compared to a lot of swankier or more hole in the wall places that may overshadow chains like Snuffers. I haven't been there in 2-3 mos. obviously an employee gathered my card information and has now used it because my card is in my possession and now they don't answer their phone to discuss this matter. The food here tastes really really good. The patty melt is one of my favorite burgers I've had anywhere. I've also been here for happy hour, but I can't recommend it for that, as the noise level was ridiculous, drinks seemed a little light, and prices were standard for the area. Drink service was fairly good for happy hour, food still took a while. I've come here 3 times for lunch, and each time waited at least 30 minutes for food to come out, the last time the wait was an HOUR -- and the restaurant was more than half empty. We were with a group of 6 I believe. I also ordered unsweetened tea, but the refill was sweetened, despite me confirming. Finally, several members of our group asked at the start about the lunch special, and made their orders line up, despite that, they were charged full price, and our server didn't know how to go about fixing it. He had us go up to the person who charges everything and work with her directly. There was a lot of confusion and arguing, with their first answer mostly being "well it's already charged, there's nothing we can do". The server and the person who ran the credit cards argued about whose fault it was as well, in front of everyone. Furthermore, no one who ordered fries or onion rings GOT those items. Why? I have no idea, it wasn't explained to them. They also had no idea how to take those items off people's bills. We were out on our lunch break, and we tried to get the food to go (since we were already late). It took another 15 minutes for them to get styrofoam containers for us, arguing with each other all the time. To be fair, our server seemed like the most on our side. Afterwards, one of our group called to put in a complaint. First she called this individual location, and their response was basically, nothing they can do. No, they wouldn't comp a meal. No, they had no one who could drive out and deliver the side dishes that our group had paid for and they couldn't take off the bill. If we'd really wanted those things, we should have stayed for them, in their eyes. I have never been dealt with so rudely after a mistake that was clearly the fault of the business. So another member of our group called the corporate customer service. Finally, that got some attention. The manager of this location called us back, 1 day later, claiming to have just heard about our issue. S/He (I didn't speak to them) offered to deliver meals for everyone at no charge on a day of our choosing. That reason alone is for the second star. This was over a month ago. I haven't been back, nor have any of my co-workers. read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants, but not tonight. We showed up for the $5 cheeseburgers for National Cheeseburger Day. Not surprisingly, they were quite busy, and service was slower than normal. That's understandable as swamped as they were. To apologize for the delay, the manager provided us, unprompted, with tickets for free burgers on our next visit. The kind of service we've come to appreciate from Snuffer's. More time passes. The table next to us, whose order was put in at the same time as ours, had finished eating. People who came in and ordered after us have gotten their food. Unprompted yet again, the manager comped our ticket, and assured us that ours would be the next order out of the kitchen. And, she was true to her word. Our order was out almost immediately after she left the table. And all three burgers were wrong. At that point, having waited an hour and a half for our food to come out wrong, we left to go elsewhere. While we can appreciate how busy they were (apparently unexpectedly so), the fact that the squeaky wheels who complained were taken care of without problems while those of us who were patient and understanding ultimately left disappointed (and still hungry) made for the worst experience at a Snuffer's in some 15-16 years of patronage. We're not going to be "those" people and threaten to stop going because of one (VERY) substandard visit out of dozens (if not hundreds) of great ones, but its most certainly not what we've come to expect from Snuffer's. read more
