We loved having the kitchen and fridge to store some snacks. The owner sent us restaurant recommendations as well and helped us via text with our late check in. We really enjoyed having the hot tub in the room. The bed was super comfy and the linens and towels were plush and soft. I loved the heated towel rack next to hot tub so you were super warm getting out of the tub. Having a fire place was nice to fall asleep to. Our private cabin Rainbow is loaded with all that we need, including a private, 2-person hot tub and personal fire pit literally next to the wall of the river. This lodge is easily the best place I've ever stayed at. We didn't have reservations, but upon pulling into the parking lot - we were greeted right away. Beth, the owner, was so friendly and welcoming. She shared the availability and offered to walk us over to the cabin she had in mind for us. Everything was super smooth and we are sooo happy we found this place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Don't be fooled by how it looks from the street - the beauty of this location (5 min to RMNP) is that it's private, away from the road and right on the river. When I got back from CO I told EVERYONE about River Spruce, showing them videos of the river/setting and telling them how incredible it was. I still look at the videos to this day, nearly 5 months later. I hope to visit CO again one day and River Spruce will be the place I'm most excited to return to. Now that I'm posting this review, I want to add that upon leaving, Beth happened to flag us down, thanked us for staying and told us to come back. I can't fully explain how much this visit meant to me, largely due to her positive energy, sweet demeanor, and kindness.

Randy was very helping with places to go and things to do as a family. The cabin accommodated all 6 of us with no issues. Anything we needed as far as basic essentials was provided. It was right on the creek as promised and it is so convenient to get to town. Maybe a 3-5 minute drive. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because of the bed. These beds are clearly very old spring mattress and dipped down in the middle so me and my boyfriend kept rolling down into each other all night. The first night I didn't get to sleep until about 5 am! However everything else was perfect. For a romantic weekend I definitely recommend paying the extra money for the jacuzzi tub it was lovely!

It is easy to walk to town from there. The property was honey, warm, and we loved having the full kitchen. The weather was not the best for sitting outside, but we enjoyed the views and the elk that walk around the neighborhood. We never met the owners as check in and out are through a lock box. The owners are very friendly and attentive, and strive to make it a family friendly atmosphere. Tuesday's s'mores by the fire pit and Thursday's chuck wagon breakfast - complete with a dinner bell - are a nice touch and very enjoyable. It is an easy 10 minute drive to get into RMNP and it is a relaxing to sit on the porch next to the Big Thompson River after a long day of hiking. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

S'mores at night by the fire were a favorite. The owners go over the top to make sure you're happy and taken care of. There is even a horse riding stable on the property. The place is impeccably taken care of. The cabins are clean and have everything you need. They have daily towel service and will replenish any supplies like soap or shampoo you may need. There are events pretty much every day from a cowboy breakfast to an ice cream shop. We will be back.
