The view from the back porch of our cabin.

We were here for three days in June, and had an amazing time. The weather was a perfect 60-80s the whole time. Surrounded by trees, you feel far away from everyone, even though there are several cabins near by. The cabins are set 50' away from the river that flows through the community, giving an amazing 24/7 background noise that is quite peaceful. To our surprise, we found a hottub that is right next to the river. If you love nature and want a relaxing trip, this place is great. Only downside I could see someone not liking is the age of the interior of the cabin. Old tv, older bathroom, but it didn't bother us a bit. Who needs a good tv when you should be outside here!

Cozy cabin on our quick little getaway. #12 .we stayed a couple nights in October elk were still in town by golf course and visitor center. Only suggestion is a little table next to recliner.

This place is great. Had everything ready for us when we got in late. Beautiful scenery, right on the river. Hot tub outside. Loved our stay.

What a gem of a place! Our cabin is situated right on Fall River and the sound of it is music to my ears. The day we checked in we were greeted by two bull elk and saw a herd of big horn sheep across the road. Quite the welcoming crew! The property is beautiful and surrounded by Aspen and pine trees, and the beautiful Rockies. Our cabin had everything we needed to cook our own meals, a jet tub, fireplace and deck overlooking the river. So peaceful! I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an escape to Estes Park.

Outside the Black Bear Vacation Home near Mary's Lake

We stayed in the Black Bear Vacation Home from The Evergreens on Fall River from July 1st through July 5th 2018. The cabin is located not far from Mary's Lake in Estes Park (it is not on Fall River like the rest of their rentals). Every day we saw different wildlife outside. It was awesome! Deer, Elk, Wild Turkeys, Chipmunks and even a black bear! The cabin could comfortably sleep 7 people (1 king bed in a bedroom, 1 queen bed in the loft, 1 double bed in a bedroom and 1 twin bed in a bedroom.). My only criticism would have to be the bathroom. It's VERY small. It is a 3/4 bath with a small stand up shower. My husband is a big man and it was very difficult to maneuver in the shower. And the bathroom itself is small. We had 4 people that stayed there. I can't imagine 7 people sharing the tiny bathroom, but you could do it! The cabin was great over all and we would definitely stay there again.

Why would single peeps not be allowed to enjoy the spa???

The bathroom is tiny. It doesn't have any hooks for the towels or hand towels... The balconies overlooking the river are nice (but there are many, many places to stay along the creek that are updated and clean looking). The pool is a nice touch but it's old and looks like someone DIY-ed years ago. The vending machine didn't work with any of my bills when my very pregnant body needed a bottle of water. I popped in to check out the continental breakfast and walked out with only a tea. Just a bunch of cheap, sugary products (donettes, nutrigrain bars, hostess danishes). And I thought we were getting a great rate so it was worth staying at this older place but the very nice 3 star hotel yards away is the same price!! Like it's *fine*. It's certainly not worthy of 5 stars.

The front desk staff shortly called after booking the room to verify information and see if we needed anything special upon arrival. Room is simple but offered ample amenities for the price. Breakfast was simple and attended by staff and included fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, bagels, pastries, etc small grab and go. We didn't visit the pool/tub atrium that overlooks the breakfast area but it looks nice! Will return whenever in Estes and looking for a quick night getaway for a cheap price. Room and property are dated but the friendly staff, proximity to downtown, and price meets our expectations.

Close to downtown, beautiful nature sounds, easy to find, lovely room with a view to the river. We didn't really get any customer service experience since they give you a code for your door instead of a key card. Can't comment too much on that. The room was great, it had cups for water and coffee, plates, cutlery, a cutting board, and toaster, a fridge and well equipped for a short stay where you can bring your own snacks/food. Had a lovely time there.

It's a beautiful setting, but several issues impacted my experience. First, I felt the advertising was a bit misleading. I saw a pool listed on Orbitz, but I discovered there isn't a pool anywhere on the property. Instead, there are two above-ground hot tubs. I went to the one on the second level, but I found climbing the narrow metal stairs with wet feet to be a bit dangerous. I also noticed that the rooms are slightly dated and showing their age. In my room, the curtain rod was actually falling out of the wall, which told me they need to keep up with better maintenance. You should also know there is no lobby or front desk here; I just received a code via text message and entered it to get into my room. While efficient, it felt a bit impersonal. My biggest complaint, however, was the construction noise. I didn't realize they are currently expanding the inn and building two new buildings on the same lot. Unfortunately, my room was right next to the construction site, and I had to deal with loud noise all morning. I think this place has a lot of potential once the upgrades are done, but between the maintenance issues and the noise, I didn't find it to be the relaxing getaway I was hoping for.

So leading up to our stay I stayed in contact with the front desk Katie, letting her know it's our anniversary weekend and she was the sweetest. When I say this lady went above and beyond and didn't have to, she did! When we arrived, first off there is only 12 rooms, and each room has an actual key!! This place is literally nestled on a side of a mountain w other little resort around. The check in process was so cute. Katie checked us in gave us some yummy cookies and I even bought a cute 4seasons inn sticker to put on my car. The room we booked was a private suite w a private spa grill and seating area. There is seating area by the grill and by the spa. And it's also on the 2nd floor just an fyi if you're wheel chair bound or whatever limitations you may have. So we go into our room and she literally decorated the whole room for us for our anniversary and had a bottle of wine w two wine glasses and fire wood already in our room for us to start a fire. The room was VERY spacious. Has a kitchen that worked a full coffee maker. A good size fridge and the freezer worked amazing. The toiletries that come w the room smell just fantasists. The best morning I woke up to wild turkeys on the ground just gobbling away and elk and deer. There is a community grills and a spa and a few other amenities. The thing I love about this place is it's literally less than 5 mins from the National park and far enough away to be secluded but 8 mins from EVERYTHING in town. And in Estes park there is so much cramed in that town! I LOVED everything. Not a thing was bad about my whole stay.

There's Cinnamon's Bakery and that's about it as far as food goes. -The main ceiling light in the room didn't work. It wasn't a big deal, but it was kind of bummer. -TV was really old. It had a dvd player! Yay or Nay?" Bed was pretty broken in On a side note: there was a significant amount of deer poop on the way to my room; it would have been nice if it was cleaned up.
