My husband and I went here for our anniversary and it's a nice little place in a beautiful area of Vermont. Sad we came in the off season and the bar was closed. We left one day to go out and see the sights and we left the please clean our room sign on the door came back that night and no one had cleaned our room. Only once in the whole weekend did I see any of the hotel staff around and I had to ask for towels. Had people ask me when I was sitting in the bar where they could find the ice and find the way to the pool nothing I could see was marked out at all. Didn't like that the guests across the hall were smoking pot and the hallway smelled like pot not very inviting to me and when we left my husband said he thought that the entrance smelled old and "kinda like trash". But overall not a bad little place to visit. read more

If you're looking for a full service resort/spa/conference center with three restaurants and ski on/off access, check out Grand Summit Resort - also owned and operated my Mount Snow. Snow Lake Lodge has an on-site bar and restaurant, and they serve complimentary continental breakfast to overnight guests. They're also equipped with a year-round indoor and outdoor hot tub, game room, and arcade video games for the kids too. And even though they're not slopeside, the free ski/board-friendly MOOver shuttle (see here: http://www.moover.com/routes-timetables/mount-snow ) makes pickups right outside Snow Lake Lodge every 15 minutes, providing rides directly to the Mount Snow base area and high-speed lifts. If I was writing this review five years ago, I'd have given this place four stars, but (a) the condition, cleanliness, and attention to detail of this older hotel continues to deteriorate, while (b) the prices for stays steadily and consistently increase year after year, unjustified. Charging nearly $200 a night when comparable neighboring inns/lodges are priced way less for the same dates has left me shopping elsewhere for Mount Snow area lodging (see The Lodge At Mount Snow, Red Oak Inn, and Austrian Haus Lodge). While Mount Snow's operation of the Snow Lake lodge guarantees friendly and top notch customer service, it's lost the "mom & pop" feel of the other aforementioned lodges. Top that off with asinine 3-night minimum stays during holiday weekends (forcing you to take off a work day to even stay there) and it's hard to wholeheartedly endorse this hotel any more. Mount Snow is an excellent place to ski close to New York, with varied and challenging terrain, and awesome staffers from the ambassadors to the lifties, but they've really gotta step up their game at Snow Lake Lodge, or just sell it off to someone who can. read more

I wanted to give this place a higher star rating for everything that it offers for a skiier. No, its definitely not a 4 star hotel, but for everything it offers it deserves 4. First off, the hotel is very accommodating, it's huge and almost never sells out (here for NYE and booked days prior) with a very low cost (around $115 a night even for NYE) The location is perfect, free and frequent shuttle bus called the Moover will take you to the main lodge at Mt Snow in 5 minutes. Free large breakfast which seems way better than "continental" which is usually only coffee and a muffin. Soft beds, dark curtains and renovated bathrooms-- what else do you need to crash after a day of skiing? Did I mention on-site bar and restaurant and HOT TUB (in & outdoor)!! I expected a raging college crowd from the awful reviews I read but I was surprised to see families, children, all sorts of people... Friendly staff too. Really pleasant place. All in all, nice clean place with no bugs- i check all my mattresses and these were brand new. But if you're high maintenance and need a 4+ star hotel this isn't the place for you. This place needs a major upgrade. But it has potential. The location is great. The staff was very nice very and welcoming. There was a complimentary shuttle which was great. They had a decent breakfast spread in the morning. With a view of the lake and Mount Snow. The room wasn't worth the cost. It was expensive. So not worth it. The place looks and feels cheap. The wifi is spotty. The rooms are very small and old. Ill admit I was worried about the cleanliness of the room. But overall it was clean. Also the walls are paper thin!!! So unless you are a deep sleeper your not going to get any sleep. The heat in the room was fine. There was a draft with the in wall AC unit. Overall would I stay here again? No! read more

If your looking for a cheep place to sleep and leave for the day this is an okay spot, but other than that I don't advise hanging around for more than an hour at a time. Not all, but some of the staff was inconsiderate, the indoor hot tub was room temperature and I couldn't get over the groups of people staring from the above bar and watching our every move, and top it off, we were asked to leave the hot tub an hour before it closed and weren't given a reason as to why it closed early. Night life in the hotel after midnight never ceased to leave me dumbfounded after having multiple instances of people having running races in the hallway, college students playing bumper cars with luggage carts, and wondering drunks knocking on doors randomly on their way by. After finally being able to sleep undisturbed I hope you wont be hungry because the bulk of their breakfast includes boiled eggs and and sour fruit salad, the only thing decent was the semi fresh bagels. Final note: If you plan on staying I hope you enjoy the scent of skunk because any time you step outside of your room you can expect your nose to be assaulted by some seriously potent marijuana. read more

The Snow Lake Lodge makes the Bates Motel seem like a 5-star resort. It all started when I almost threw up in my mouth after walking into a nasty, dirty, tiny room. I prowled around and decided to toss a chair and a lamp to fit my luggage in the tiny square space in my room that didn't exist before me. I then noticed that the room smelled like diarrhea, mildew, and toe fungus, which made me gag in my mouth. I thought I could handle the smell, but then noticed something that really struck me as repulsive and terrifying! I had to toss the bed sheets out the door after discovering blood stains everywhere. WTF! It felt like I was walking into a horror movie. Someone needs to inspect and monitor these issues and shut this place down for good! Where's Ashton Kutcher to punk me at a time like this? By far, hands down, bar none, theee worst hotel of all time. Cockroaches in the room, bathroom, lobby. The owners really could care less about the upkeep of this excuse for an establishment. Decided to hit the outdoor hot tub and stumbled upon a Scandinavian couple who were deep inside each other, thrusting. They told me to come back in 45 minutes. Came here with my girlfriend for the tough mudder this weekend and we stayed at the Snow Lake Lodge. If you are a clean freak like me, please stay away from this place! This place is old and dingy, and grimy, needing some serious renovation work done. It probably has not been renovated in the past 40 years. The decor is really old and falling apart. When we walked into our room, the first thing I noticed was the unidentifiable stains on the carpet...honestly this place needs to have new carpets put in or just get wood floor all together. The carpets were old and smelly and moldy...probably have not been changed in at least 10 years.. The bed sheets and bedding were old and yellowish looking...our blanket on the white side had a reddish looking, unidentifiable stain....just sleeping on it makes me feel itchy.... To make matters worse we saw a small cockroach on the floor of our room....imagine how many more are hiding around this dingy place...definitely don't try to buy anything to eat in this lodge. You might get a diarrhea. Definitely would not be coming back to this place..nor recommending this place to anyone..I would give it negative stars if I could! Bare bones accommodations here. Got the lift/lodging deal and since SLL offered the biggest room, we stayed here. In hindsight, it was probably better to get a smaller room elsewhere. Although the staff was helpful and they offered free breakfast (bagels, toast, cereal, juice), SLL is simply not up to today's standards. I remember loving the nostalgia of this spot 10 yrs ago... it hasn't changed since. The Room: We stayed in a King Suite. Sounds fancy, it aint. You will be either freezing or burning up in here. There are no other heat settings. There's a thermostat in both rooms but I'm not sure why they even have numbers bc they in no way matter. We thought opening the window a crack (you can't open it more than a few inches) would help, and it did for a 'hot' sec.... until the window refused to close and we were stuck with howling winds flying in throughout the night. Fail. Also, these walls can talk! They are thin thin thin. I could hear the person in the room next to me coughing all night long. The headboard on my bed wasn't attached, so every time I leaned back it nailed the wall. I'm sure the family behind me enjoyed that noise. To boot, no one came to clean our room and the towels are made for Hobbits. Well, with the low ceilings and small doors, the entire place is made for Hobbits, really. So, would I return? No. If you need a place on a budget, will SLL fit the bill? Yes. It's not the worst, but for the money, you could be in better digs. read more

I stayed here for 2 days. Initially, the rooms were much better than I expected upon reading previous reviews. The pillows had a fresh scent of cigarettes and the carpets stains were very inviting. We stayed on the 3rd floor, and it REEKED like weed the entire stay. Boy I hope you like hard boiled eggs because that's the only protein option for breakfast (how hard is it to scramble an egg) but the English muffins were good. At night is when the real action happens. We had numerous individuals we didn't know playing bumper cars with the luggage carts, a wandering drunk who knocked on our door asking for cocaine, as well as meeting new people through the paper thin walls between rooms. Overall, the stay was a true ski bum experience so I'll give it a 3 because the location was good and the threat of asbestos and other diseases kept me on my toes. read more

This is by far the worst hostel I've ever spent two nights in. I wouldn't even call this place a hotel because it isn't worthy of that status. If you're a college student or traveling on a budget, this place is for you. The conditions of our room were filthy. Radiator falling off the walls, outlets not working, gum in the carpets. The towels provided looked as though they were washed for 50 years. The room we were given was by the lobby and the five of us in the suite couldn't sleep because of noisy guests arriving back at 2am from a night of drinking. The staff did little to nothing to keep the noise down as neighbors above and beside us partied in their rooms. I want every penny I spent back for having to put up with the Snow Lake Lodge. I think it would be better off razed and built over again with new management & facilities that weren't days away from crumbling. read more

This is a perfect stay for a quick weekend trip I would stay here again. Its no Grand Summit, it's definitely outdated but the rooms are clean... Our group of 11 had 3 rooms next to each other. The furniture is old and chipped, but the sheets and mattresses are clean. It looks like the bathroom was recently remodeled, it has a shower with good water pressure, and a small basic sink. No safe , fridges or microwaves in our rooms. There is a dresser, night stand, and small closet with hooks and a luggage rack. You can walk up to Mt Snow if you're up for it (10-15 min) Or wait for a MOOVER bus that will pick you up right at the front door. They come every 15 minutes. The outdoor hot tub was very fun for a few minutes, the indoor one is larger and there is also a small sauna that is nice. Get towels at the front desk first though, there are none in the pool area. *** You can pay $15 per room to get a card to use the grand summits amenities!!! The breakfast is good enough for being free. read more

It exceeded my low expectations: the room's a warm, comfortable place to flop at the end of a long day of skiing. The restaurant's food is not gourmet, but pretty darn good. The staff was great--EXCEPT, there's one woman who just hates people. Asking for information about the shuttle bus, purchasing, e.g., an extra sweater from their shop, or breaking a $20 for the arcade: all of these very straightforward requests were treated as if I was personally causing her to suffer. Different people interact with the world differently. Hence, there's nothing wrong with her facing the world as if it's just a big imposition on her. What's wrong is that she applied for a job interacting with that world and Snow Lake Lodge hired her. People don't want to cause others' suffering, so I would just avoid asking a question or taking advantage of the amenities. And it's the ONLY reason I wouldn't go back there. read more

I do not get how they still have such old TVs and furniture. I had to do a double take at my phone to make sure it was 2017. The breakfast is all sugary carbs with your protein option being overly boiled hard eggs--- literally the only option for someone with a gluten insensitivity. The positives are that there's a really nice staff and the location is convenient for Mount Snow. This is by far the worst "hotel" I've ever stayed in. Not only was the staff incredibly rude and unaccommodating, but my health was in jeopardy by staying there. Cold showers, mold and rust everywhere, yellow stained sheets and a constant fear of the roof caving in as I "slept". We have been coming up here for nearly 20 years for the Oktoberfest and each year the Snow Lake gets seedier and more rundown. It's a real shame that the resort looks at it as purely a cash cow, refusing to put a dime into modernization and needed upgrades. Oh the snow lake lodge , to the people who want to room here just beware it's not the cleanest place nor is it the nicest place but it works for college kids on a budget looking to stay close to the mountain for some what reasonable prices. The rooms are small sometimes not clean, bringing your own sheets wouldn't be a bad idea. Also the if u want to bring any device with an hdmi and a wifi connection guess again cuz the rooms have tube Tvs and the wifi sucks too. I guess the 500k in renovations went into there "Japanese" style pool which isint open in the winter, you would of thought they would of at least fixed up the place. Side note if you clogged the toilet have fun with the walk of shame back to your room with a dirty plunger in a plastic bag. read more

As a peak pass holder, we go to Mount Snow a lot on the weekends. This was our first time at Snow Lake lodge and it was not the best experience. The room was very very dark, with only one light, and one outlet in the entire room. My phone had to charge in the bathroom. The room was extremely small, and the TV did not work (because it was from the 1990's). We used the door hanger that asked the cleaning staff to make up the room, after our first night. But at the end of the day we returned to find that either another person who was staying at the hotel, changed the door hanger or the staff did that because everyone on our floor had the door hangers that said "Please do not Disturb" and our room was not made up. They do have a steam room, a pool and a bar. There is a pool table but you have to pay for it, which is ridiculous since you already paid for the room. They also have a continental breakfast, which consisted of a few muffins, old bagels and assorted juices. There was only one source of protein, which were hard boiled eggs that were so rubbery, I could bounce them off the floor. read more

Honestly this place doesn't even deserve one star. Absolutely disgusting. Walked in and the place smelled horrendous. The smell was so strong I had to go outside so I wouldn't get sick. As for the room, the mini fridge was warm. There were stains everywhere. When we went to turn up the heat, my boyfriend got electrocuted from it. We asked to switch to a different room and they charged us $50, which we were okay with. After checkout we continued to receive charges on our card. The room cost us $336 total, and we ended up getting $1,100 extra in charges. We called the manager and she refuses to give us any of the money back. The staff are nothing but rude. Don't waste you're time or money coming here. Nothing but a disappointment. read more

This hotel is extremely dated. Furniture looks worn down and shabby. Very mismatched throughout the lobby areas. The room was small. Two full size beds leave no room to spread out with ski equipment. The bathroom was clean however the shower did not offer hot water, just lukewarm. The walls of the room were very very very thin and you will be able to hear everything your neighbors are saying in their rooms or in the hallway. Very loud college crowd at this place. Indoor hot tub and sauna were nice features of the Snow Lake Lodge. The area must've been recently re done as it was in great shape. Continental breakfast is just that. Included: juice, bagels, pastries, coffee/tea, fruit salad, oatmeal. Good to stay if you're on a budget, but beware it is rowdy and loud on weekends. Front desk staff were very friendly. Stayed here with my family for the Mudder. Original plan was to stay two nights. Upon checking in and riding up to the 4th floor in the nastiest smelling elevator I have been my wife and two girls were already scared to see what the room looked like. Needless to say it lived up to all the other wonderful reviews here on Yelp. Old stained carpet, tube tvs, plexiglass windows you could barely see out of, etc. Upon seeing this I went to the front desk to inquire about the refund policy for night 2 (I had prepaid for both nights). The manager said it depends on the reason, I said this place was not nearly what I expected and that my family wanted to leave (if this was under $100 a night no big deal, but paying over $200 for a suite was insanity). He said he understood and promptly refunded me the second night, even offering to let kids use the pool after we checked out the next day, which was nice. The staff were very friendly and the best part of the place. The rest needs to be bulldozed. Unless you are a college kid with 30 rack of cheap beer to drink all night, I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

To sum this place up, you get what you pay for. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and we were far from pleased. The best thing about Snow Lake Lodge is its location (super close to the base of the mountain). You can take the MOOver shuttle right over. There were a lot of families here, which wasn't a problem for us at all. However, the place wreaked of weed (so I wouldn't take kids there, personally). It literally was so strong it came through the hallways and in to our personal room. Our room was small, which is fine, but everything was just very dated and old. Our bathroom didn't even have a light fixture. You could just tell the towels and blankets were super old. They do have a free continental breakfast every morning, but I wouldn't recommend it. There's a little breakfast shop down the road that's way better. The first night there my boyfriend and I were starving after our drive up and we were going to just eat at Walt's Pub, which is the restaurant at the lodge. We walked in and walked right out. It just didn't look like a desirable place to eat. Like I said, you get what you pay for. It's affordable and a place to crash after a long day of skiing.
