I'm a student at Texas and got a free drink which was nice. I ordered a sandwich and waited about 20 min before my order was ready which was a little annoying considering there were only 2/3 customers ahead of me. I built my own sandwich and it was decent. I got a cup of their broccoli cheddar and it was pretty flavorless. I paid around 20$ total. Really cool that they give student discount but overall a pretty average experience-- compared to Jersey mikes I would just pick that. read more

I was recently at the LBJ library for an event and came upon Snarf's walking around for lunch. I remember hearing good reviews about the sandwich shop and it did not disappoint. I ordered the special, The Cuban, and my friend got a Cobb salad. For dessert, we both ordered a brownie! I enjoyed my sandwich, filled with protein, perfectly toasted, and I added some hot peppers. The service was friendly; however I was shocked to hear that I would be spending $17 on a sandwich and a brownie. Turns out, it's because I was given a 12 in versus a 7 in. I wish I caught that mistake earlier, but I ate the entire 12 in, so I guess I needed it. The ambiance is like a little dive joint and they have free stickers and tattoos that you can take. I got a couple for my kids and they were so excited that I went home with "presents" for them. I think that if I'm in the area, I would give Snarf's another try. They have many different sandwiches that I'd like to try. Next time, I think I will go for the 7 inch though. read more

Their salads are huge and satisfying! I definitely recommend them if you're trying to eat less bread! I recently came here after volunteering and was delighted to discover they have gluten free bread! Even though Snarf's has been around for years and I was a student at UT (and it's been a few years!), I've never been here before so I really wasn't sure what to expect. It was very clean inside and the employees were friendly, even going so far as to let me know that the gluten free bread is really good since I'd never tried it before. The recommendation is that even people who don't HAVE to eat gluten free will order the bread because it's soo good. (Lucky people, I'd say! I'd love to only eat gluten free out of preference instead of necessity!!) Anyway, I ended up ordering their Italian sandwich with a few customizations (getting older means no raw onions these days!), and the gluten free bread WAS really good, but I can't justify spending ~$20 on half a sandwich on a regular basis. So while the location is very convenient next to campus and my regular volunteering, the gluten free prices are just a bit steep for this to be more than an occasional treat. Parking lot is a bit small, but free for customers, and there was plenty of seating inside as well. They do also appear to have monthly deals on set items, so next time I may also try a salad to see how that is! read more

The atmosphere is great! They've got some cool window art and Halloween decorations with some great music playing! They have a multitude of beverage, chip and sandwich choices. It was our first time here and it took forever to decide what we wanted! My husband got the Buffalo chicken sandwich and I got the Italian with all the toppings! That freshly baked bread made all the difference -- it was crispy and crunchy, but not too thick, so it didn't scratch up the top of my mouth. I am...confused at best when it comes to Snarf's. The place comes highly recommended (both by Yelp and word of mouth) but I am absolutely unsure why. I stopped in during a training session during the lunch rush (between college regulars and the training, it was a busy day). I can't say I was turned off by the wait time, it was fully reasonable for the amount of guests but I simply cannot justify all its praise based on the food. It's just...a pricey sandwich? Don't get me wrong, I could eat a sandwich every day of my life and be the happiest camper, but I don't understand the hype. Do they know something I don't? Does this just happen to be the only place to get a sandwich nearby? I have no idea, but they have clearly bewitched the surrounding area so great for them! But if you are thinking about going out of your way to swing by, I can't say it'll be worth the journey. This seems more of a place you go as a right of passage to sit and converse with friends, in which case I suppose it's more about the experience than what's on the menu. On that note, a coworker of mine had asked if one of the soups on the menu was vegetarian, upon being told yes she was given the entirely wrong (entirely meat filled) soup instead. They're not that great at listening. Tonight was our second time eating here. Wednesday we had food delivered via Uber Eats. When placing the order there was no way to select a soup choice so I called. Wrong soup was sent. Thankfully my husband had ordered a sandwich for me so I had food. To add insult to injury, the soup they sent was gross. Things happen, right? Tonight we went to pick up food and I ordered a cheesesteak WITHOUT their giardinera. Why? Because I tried my husband's cheesesteak from Wednesday and it was so good but dang hot! So I thought, I'll get the sandwich WITHOUT the giardinera. My husband joked that he hoped they got my soup right this time and I told him I was a little concerned they'd mess up the sandwich. Sure enough, we get home and the sandwich had the giardinera. Awesome! So hot that I was only able to eat a little bit. Honestly, I don't know. How hard is it, really? I'm not a mean person, and I'm sure it gets stressful, but I'm out at this point.
