The staff, a group of galactic star gypsies who exist between space and time are both attentive and not. Catch them in the right orbital plane and you can order. Miss the solar opening and you'll be out of luck. When I went, I was the only person around for most of the time that I was there. Literally, I was the only one there. The staff had slipped dimensions apparently. When they returned, they offered me beer from a keg one of them had back at their apartments. I declined. I ordered food, waited, and when it was ready (remember, I am the only person that is or has been in the place since I arrived and I am sitting no more than ten feet away from the counter), the guy looks out into the room over my head and says "John... John... Number 286... Your food is ready." I'm not sure what his colleague's role was, but he was standing staring at the ceiling. Bizarre. This is a great burger joint. Compared to the other burger options in Boulder, it's also relatively cheap, without effecting quality. I second the opinion posted earlier that this compares to In-N-Out. The fries were amazing, as well. If you're looking for a quick burger, this beats any fast food place in town. I was interested to see what Snarf's would pull off in the way of a burger joint. I really loved the small shack atmosphere. Music was a bit loud for me, but I think that's the kind of atmosphere they are going for. Burgers were good enough....nothing to write home about. Fries, onion rings just ok too. It is a simple shack, but that balances out the atmosphere of the place. They cook the food right in front of you and it is very tastey. The wait isnt too long, depending on how many people are there. It can get crowded since the building is small so it is better to go at slow hours. I'm updating my past 2 star review to 1 star because this place deserves it. I decided to give it another chance today and I'm so disappointed. I strongly considered driving back down and demanding my money back, but I decided it wasn't worth the gas. My burger came with an entirely wrong set of ingredients on it (how hard is it to mess up NO CHEESE especially when I'm the only customer there?! They actually put on two different types of cheeses! And the "light" thousand island was so heavy on the burger it literally leaked through the bag and got all over me!) and my "concrete" frozen custard was completely melted. Delicious when they make it right, yet 75% of the time they don't make the order to specifications. I just went in for a veggie burger with nothing on it but pickles and avocado. I go home, open the burger, and it is COVERED in mustard [which I hate], hot sauce, lettuce, and tomato. Basically inedible for me, as the mustard completely masked all the other flavors. Other times when I've asked them to remake the burger for me [when I was eating there], the staff gave me such an attitude about it, and the restaurant was pretty empty. I understand Covid-19 policies and am happy to comply with whatever restaurants prefer. Wear a mask inside? No problem. Limit capacity? Also no problem. But welcome to Snarfburger--where they treat you like a walking infection and a swarm of disease and filth; rather than a human (who in this case is fully vaccinated) patronizing their establishment. My husband, daughter, and I were getting a quick snack after our son's graduation from Fairview high. My daughter and I had hopped out of the car, while my husband parked. Snarfs only allows two people in at a time, so my husband simply got in line behind a few other people since we were already inside. Since their entire menu is not available above on their board, I grabbed a paper one. I then put the menu back in the slot with the other menus and the cashier caught me off guard, snapping, "You can't put a MENU you TOUCHED back in with the rest!" He then motioned with his head towards the trash in a gesture for me to throw it away. Ok, fine, that's pretty ridiculous if you think about it. I mean, I'm no epidemiologist but I don't think COVID-19 is infecting anyone through modestly-sized pieces of paper in Boulder, CO--one of the most highly vaccinated places in literally the entire world. Maybe he had just taken a microbiology class and is demonstrating residual trauma from it, but I was gobsmacked. He then asked if I wanted anything else, and I said "yes, Let me just go get my husband so he can order". He literally looked at me in disbelief and yelled, " there can only be 2 people in here at a time". Like...oh really? Well no shit. There are 3 of us who need to order, and I have to exchange places with my husband, who is buying lunch for all of us, so we can proceed. I quipped: "yes. I'm aware. I get it. I have to leave so my husband can come in". Flustered, I go outside and when I motion for him to come inside, another man in line, asserted that "he was here first" and almost started a fight until I explained. I have seriously had a one-night stand and felt less dirty than they think their costumers are, and less judged than I did here. All for the driest, saltiest, hockey-puck--esque veggie burger I have ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. I have passed here and seen it standing room only. the music was way to loud would be my only complaint the staff acted professional and the food was great.
