It's a small setting, where dogs and people mingle and great connections are made. I've never experienced a pub or taphouse that had such a happy vibe. I've made lifelong friends at this little place, including the owner, Brian. I would give this place a 10 and it's a must stop for anyone passing through Victor. I no longer live in the valley but every time I visit I make sure to spend time at the Refuge.

We started with the wild mushroom mozzarella with balsalmic butter, parmesan and balsalmic glaze served on crunchy baguettes. It was unbelievably flavored and tasty, a great start to the night and must have! The Spanish salad with arugula, apple, fennel, almonds, manchego and a honey-sherry vinegarette was good but not on par with the other dishes. The tuna crudo with cucumber, arugula, crunchy grains, orange wedges, citrous vinegarette, fried capers and preserved lemon was light, a real palate cleanser, and refreshing.
